I'm playing this currently & the muddle all enemies perk has been really useful for my group. Makes opening up new rooms a lot less scary when you know they'll all be at disadvantage for their first attacks.
If you mix-and-match characters from different games, be careful summoning both Snow Owls with certain allies present. Or the Cragheart may end up killing two birds with one stone. 🤣🤣🤣
I've played my Snowdancer, Icela, for 5 scenarios now, and it is such a different and fun class to play, even at level 1! Extra fun when there is already hazardous terrain or traps around to move enemies into. :D (We may or may not have unlocked a certain class that this is so fun to synergize with...) :D One thing to mention is that when you create hazardous terrain, it goes on a "featureless" hex, NOT an "empty" hex, so as long as the tile doesn't already have some type of overlay tile on it already (difficult terrain, traps, etc.), you can put a hazard there - EVEN if there is an enemy there! Sure, it won't deal damage to them from that right away, but Cold Snap could deal damage, or Biting Frost could immobilize. Either way, it's nice to have the option! Thanks for the awesome video!
AH YES that CERTAIN CLASS. Stephanie is playing the Snowdancer and I am that CERTAIN CLASS. oh yes featureless, that is very important. I do love that distinction of empty vs featureless as it allows the placement of certain things more readily :) Glad you enjoyed the video!!
I would do terrible with this character lol. I SUCK at knowing when to push or pull effectively and ugh. I just can’t get it in my brain lol. I like blink blade to just run around and slash things kok
Another great guide as always. Just started playing the Snowflake with my group - the other 2 players are the trap class and the meteor class - gonna be a bit squishy but looked too much fun to pass up the opportunity!
Great video! I’m about to retire my Geminate and go full support with this class. Gonna be a big change in playstyle for me but I’m up for the challenge.
Just unlocked the snowdancer recently and will play it for the first time at our next game session and I'm looking forward to it! I like to play support style classes so I Think I'll go support/control? But the hazards seem to have potential as well... I'm excited though!
Love this class. Hit level 7 last night. Going mostly Leader and been supporting my Drifter but VERY good synergy with BEARTRAP who we also have. Bonkers damage. Enemy control. We feel like a strike force. Still can't get my second mastery though. Would love suggestions.
I had no issues getting both masteries and did them in a single scenario (17). the scenario allowed for it and I was only a two-player party. You want to get those two scepters that grant Ward and grant Regenerate.
I tried finding an answer to this, but couldn’t. Perhaps you know the answer. Gathering Force, top, does the negative always apply, or only when you generate an element?
I just started this class as my third (after beartrap and the shadowpuncher starter class) and it looks really promising. Not sure how i'm building it yet. First I wanted to go into move+damage enemies, but I cant consistantly keep up frost as often as I'd like, since my team also uses them. So might switch to support and snowleopard daddy xD
I have a question about Birds in a Tempest, does that add +2 move to each ally move ability or just +2 overall? Like what if you had moves on the top and bottom cards in a turn?
Hi! Rules question here about hazardous terrain.. if a monster starts its turn in hazardous terrain and is adjacent to its focused enemy and has a move and melee attack, would it move off the hazardous terrain and hit the focused enemy if there is a free space without hazardous terrain? Can't find anything in the book about this. Seems like common sense that it would but wanted to check if I was missing something.
my gf just started playing Snowflake, leader buid, i am about to retire the Deathwalker (rest of group are Bannerspear and Drifter) would you say the Trapper would work with Snowflake? there is obvious synergy , but maybe too much overlap ? nog enough raw dps? curious to hear youre thoughts on it. thanks!
Level 5 is nuts for this character. They should have switched level 5 and 6 cards. I kind of disagree with perk order: this class doesn't depend as much on combat modifiers, so I'd put first the two immobilizers, then the infuse elements, then the deck thinners and only then replace the other -1s
We just unlocked that one last game and it should be played soon. I was wondering if Chilling Impact was good at low level. Seems difficult to generate enough Ice to make it worth.
Yes and no. Due to generating low amount of ice you have to pair it/set it up with your aoe or push/pull top/bottom combos to be worth it (to make sure you do at least two damage) but if you can do that it's ABSOLUTELY worth it. Otherwise I can see passing on using it until it's easier to infuse ice.
Regarding Chilling Impact, how readily available is ice? I'm seeing two ice generators in the level 1 cards, and one of the levels 3, 5, 6 and 9 cards (which kind of forces your choice at those levels). So realistically, how much damage are you getting off per rest cycle with this persistent loss card?
Fairly available! You have to ensure to bring ice generators as setup for the big push pull turns! I think 2 damage per rest is a safe floor, I've seen 6+ damage added some turns!
Here's something I'm wondering - with White Winds top ability, can you attack the target adjacent to you and push them into the next hex of the pattern and attack again? This might also be something you could do to an enemy in the third hex to the fourth hex as well since that push also puts them farther from you. My gut feeling is that you can't but I'm not sure I entirely understand the order of things on multi-hex attacks so I figured it was worth an ask!
Nope! When you place the template and determine targets that's the end of it! The targets are selected and then the attacks are drawn in the order of your choosing. Even if other creatures, or the same creatures, move into hexes of the attack pattern during/after the attack. Even if you drew a +1 target, you couldn't target the same enemy again. Hope this helps!
@@RageBadgerGaming That makes perfect sense (even if I wish it were different, lol). Thanks for the help! I really appreciate your Frosthaven content, by the way. I'm going to play this class next and I've watched your guide a few times to get an idea of how I want to do it.
I’m playing with my gf with 4 characters and we’re almost about to retire them, we’ll be using drifter/banner spear/trapper/snowflake next. Would you recommend a controller build with snowflake since we’ll have trapper as well?
Hey I've always wondered why do level 9 cards give XP? What point is there? In Gloomhaven at the end I had a level 9 Music Note (loooooooove that character) and she had just so much XP that I could do nothing with at the end.
Blinkblade is up next. I post updates on what's next on discord/patreon etc. Some battle goals require exp requirements so the level 9 cards still have them.
Do you happen to know if the perk that when you move an enemy it suffers damage rolling modifiers are culmative? IE. If I draw two of them and push them, do they suffer 2 dmg, or just 1?
@@RageBadgerGaming Any chance you could illuminate why this card might be beneficial and/or difficult to balance for play with a drifter ally? I'm still trying to get a handle on this game.
Found a use case for the top of gathering force, possibly thanks to a skill issue, but hey. SCENARIO 38 SPOILERS: Two players, scenario 38, snowflake plus anemone. Characters lvl 2, scenario lvl 1. Not much element generation in my chosen kit to support damage, hounds everywhere, escort mission, and someone has to go kill some sun elementals on their own. Snow needs consistent damage, bc pushes alone aren't going to help me solo a mob of dogs for a few rounds. I tried all the other ways for damage but they still weren't adding up to enough and, after two failed runthroughs, I was getting sick of the pushes having no effect after two tries except when I used my net. Consistent free elements would help. So I combined every damage tool except my beautiful perfect beloved fox son (too many persistent losses already, might still have been a mistake) and it finally added up to enough damage to function.

This was our first unlock too!! The classes are so thematic in Frost, REALLY loving the design.
Right? I love the themes of all the classes! Glad you're enjoying them :)

Very happy to see this, we chose snowflake last week to unlock. Thanks for your videos!
You're very welcome! Good luck with your Snowdancer!
This is one of the classes I'm excited about. No idea if it'll work in two player, but I'm prepared to try.
IT DOES WORK! Surprisingly well, too! Especially one the single-target support stuff!
Thanks for a great guide! I’m Uber excited to pair this character with bear trap!
IT'S SUCH A GOOD PAIR, TOO! Good luck!
Which lvl 1 Cards do you keep with your Leader build? Which cards will be held till the bitter end and which is basically "first to go"? :)

Do you take in cossider that Cross Winds needs line of sight because you target an ally? So it has a kind of range limit.
I have a question about Birds in a Tempest, does that add +2 move to each ally move ability or just +2 overall? Like what if you had moves on the top and bottom cards in a turn?
ALL moves. So if you have multiple... +2 to each!
@@RageBadgerGaming That's amazing. Thanks for the response.

Trapper snowdancer are an otp 2 player comp, and you can get both at the same time.
yeah we did that and it was INCREDIBLE!

By popular demand, yes I'm doing one lol
Which items would you recommend starting with?
weighted net, element potion
Have you got to Kelp yet? I’m struggling a little
Well I'm a playtester so I've seen everything. It is not the next guide we're doing though.
I thought I heard you say Blizzard gives 2 XP. Was that a mistake?
lol yeah, I have slips sometimes. Card is correct, obviously.
The bottom effect of Snowball would be interesting on the Drifter.
omg I love that idea. That would be difficult to balance but the concept of charges are stronger if you can juggle them at the end sounds so fun.
@@RageBadgerGaming Wait, can the drifter manipulate charges on other character's cards?
@@LemurMaster nope. Sadly.
