    I remember begging for a signed Addy as a kid. I kept getting told "You have Molly and that's good enough." If I could go back now....

    This was so good to watch!!! Enjoyed it! Maybe not as valuable as Pleasant Rowland name on it, but I saw a signed Addy on eBay once with the author Connie Porter name on it and didn't buy it because I wasn't into Addy at first but now my most loved. I do beat myself up big time because it was priced wayyyyyy less than a signed Pleasant Rowland doll. 😢

      An addy signed by Connie Porter is very nice! I would love to have one someday. Every collector always has a few dolls that got away - it’s just how it goes. Maybe you’ll get one at some point!

    This is really fascinating! I’m also an AG collector, but I’m definitely not focused on collecting these sorts of dolls (JLY 4 is my rarest doll, and she was a $25 TLC local find lol). Learning more about them (and pleasant company history) was really cool! It’s also nice to know what to look out for, in case I ever have the chance to get one at an estate sale or something.

    ❤❤❤Wow, wow, wow! This video is amazing and so well done. I've been a doll collector for a while and had so many people ask me about my pleasant company dolls and I just never knew what some of them were even talking about. A lot of the AG community is very into pleasant company keywords and lingo...and I was just an average doll collector who just happened to come across early pleasant company dolls. Never knew any of this until now that there were so many knick names for these older dolls. Thank you so much for this video😊

    Thank you for the information! Two of my American Girl of Today dolls of notice are 9 and 19. Both had grey eyes. 9 had light brown hair with bangs and 19 had dark brown hair with bangs.
    9 is easy to mistake for Molly except for the slightly shorter hair (the braids won’t be as long if you braid her hair and it may not have the shorter hairs along the part line).
    19 is in the Ski Apres outfit in the PC catalogs when it was available. She was released in 1995. In 1999, they changed 19 to green eyes and lighter brown hair.
    My CYO looks like 19 with the Josefina face mold, freckles, grey eyes and shorter dark brown hair with bangs. I love to see the similarities with the older TMs in the catalogs and the early clothes they model.

    Thank you for explaining the signed dolls. I found you a few months ago and have been watching all of your past videos but was a bit confused about where the signed dolls came from. I didn’t realize that it was an extra offered in the catalog!

    I just got an amber eyed , chip toothed , tan bodied Samantha . Her original outfit is marked 1986 West Germany . She is in fairly good condition. In your opinion , being that she is tan bodied is she an original ? If so , how much do you think she is worth ?

    • @idreamofjonny
      @idreamofjonny  3 месяца назад +3

      All true amber chipped Samantha’s are white body. 1986 copyrights were used on meet outfits until 1993. It’s possible she had a torso swap at the hospital, but it’s tough to say without seeing a pic!

      Thank you so much for your opinion. It's greatly appreciated. I would send you a pic of her, but I'm not sure how on here . I'm still thrilled that I have her & I also got some vintage clothes , shoes & a Kirsten case as well. Believe it or not, I got all of this for only $10 !!!! I hit the jackpot !! I found her at a local outdoor market.

    This was a great video for reference. I am waiting for my first Molly, she is on the way. And I need to date what year she is from. She is a cheap one, though. But I am really excited because she is my first Pleasant Company era doll. All the ones I have are American Girl era.

    Hi Jonny, as always, a great video stocked full of valuable information. I am loving your more muted set and color scheme. It looks vintage and very classy. My friend Adam has an Amber eyed white body chipped tooth Samantha. I have seen her several times. She is so beautiful. I bought a white body Kirstin from him and we think it may be a spooky eye but it’s hard to know for sure. Her eyes do look a little lighter than my other Kirstin but it is a subtle difference. I will show her in a video on my channel soon. I would love to get your opinion. I had no idea there were signed Felicity dolls and Addy dolls out there. I love treasure hunting. Especially finding things by surprise in the wild. Thanks for this video. 🙏💕

    Why don't you ask Roland about how many dolls she signed? Just write to her. Her address might be in the UFDC archives, if not her if she has children or grandchildren they might know. Especially if you are writing a book, she could contribute and may be more than interested that way. Just an idea. I had to do alot of "far reaching" when I did my doctoral work and you would not believe who responded. I just took a chance. Just an idea. Thank you I enjoy your videos and appreciate you.
