Honestly, I don’t hate Alien Resurrection. I watched the Director’s Cut and I have a new appreciation. I don’t think it’s a better movie but I look at it as more of a guilty pleasure that I like to watch like Superman IV and maybe Monster Squad. I do appreciate the hard work that was put into the movie and it looks more like a comic book movie. It’s very different than the other three alien movies. The characters are very comic book like and the aliens or xenomorphs are different than the aliens from the first and second movie. Alien 3’s alien movie was more of puppetry and automatronic live action with the close ups. I mean some people will say it looks fake. I think it’s fine. I wish the movie would’ve kept Hicks and Newt in the movie and the movie would’ve been better to just have Ripley get killed by the Alien and have Hicks and Newt barely escape with Bishop II and the company and left it at that but we got got Ripely sacrificing herself and the movie making it a big deal but then Resurrection makes it pointless because they brought her back as a clone and it’s like ok whatever. I think what we can look forward to with Alien Romulous is that we’ll get something new. It could be good and it could be bad. What I think would be bad is if we got a windfall of Easter eggs from other movies and references and expositions, which if I remember right is what DC did for BvS. Warner Brothers was like “Yeah, just throw a whole bunch of all of this other stuff in this movie and cram it in there.” I hope that’s what we’re not getting. The biggest reason why Alien was so successful was that it was simple and showed very little of the Alien. It was still part of the 1970s genres of B movies where it only showed the face and the head of alien and left the rest to imagination. It used a lot of behavior psychology of the actors to carry the movie that it made you lean forward on your seat to see what would happen next. To recap; it was a simple plot and story with one sub-plot with Ash betraying the crew and the crew members making a lot of mistakes. With Alien Romulous and why I think it does a lot of good things is the fact that it takes place on a space station by Weylan Yutani doing experiments and sh*t goes wrong and there is nobody on board. It takes everything we knew about the first movie and turns the plot inside out. People are trying to get off the planet get aboard the space station and find a shuttle to leave the system and finds all of these eggs and the original xenomorph from the first movie. This sounds like a good plot for a movie so far and the addition of barbs on the face huggers makes me wonder what the aliens are like. In James Cameron’s original screenplay he did have stingers on the alien’s tail that would immobilize them, which could’ve worked but it was cut out of the film. Covenant kind of did the same thing by going to a planet that they thought was hospitable and things go horrendous. I liked Covenant but I think what got fans angry was that RS made David the creator of the Aliens and not the Engineers. I was fine with the black goo as the whole centered plot device and the stupid mistakes the characters were making and getting sick. Everyone has their one or two movies that they absolutely hate. I like them all but I really like the first two alien movies. I wish we would’ve just got a movie about the Engineers creating life and visiting the humanoid worlds that they seeded and have a story with that but more stories of the Xenomorphs is fine to. I think if the film is paced like the first and second Alien movie , where you get to know the characters of the film and care about them and spend less time on nostalgia and information from the other movies. I think the movie will be fine. Some information is fine and information in the data base of the Nostromo or even the Prometheus mission and the disappearance of the Covenant is fine but I wouldn’t go any further than that. This movie really should stand on its own and have some of its own special features.
Did you catch Mikes Monsters take on the new trailer. He saw a super early version of the film. He point blank said its not Big Chap. But definitely made some pointed comments hinting at experiments snd such. I think you're right on point.
That's Andy rebooting in the chamber. Also there are TONS of pods so we will most likely see different angles. You can go watch Monster Mike to confirm, as he has seen the rough cut working in marketing. It's Andy doing his reboot.

@@_GuyInTheChair Im still not entirely sure why he is collecting the stuff that he is carrying around the space station. I wonder if the face huggers have any connection to David's ones at the end of Covenant, and if Weyland-Yutani took any of his research? I also think that rock the ship takes onboard is the alien but with a formed protective outer shell.
Yeah I think that also that the rock is big chap in some kind of resin cocoon and the part of the trailer where the hands are over the head is him coming out of it
@@calumsowhat well that's the part that confuses me the reason I say this is because those hands over the head/dome don't need to pop back to place as they are in place, I think these are two separate xenos tbh
What if this new Alien that is apparently in this film is a product of one of those eggs that we saw in the deleted scenes from the first Alien film? Remember those deleted scenes where the Alien was turning humans into eggs or something? What if this movie is going to show the result of that? Edit* I’m not saying it’s going to be the guys from the OG film, I know they got vaporised, I reckon the Alien will use people from the crew in Romulus
That’s an interesting take. For all it's worth it would be ironic if the Alien has been enhanced/perfected (being given the indiscriminate killer instinct) by the very scientists conducting the experiments. The irony, that once again mankind has seeded its own downfall by making a bio weapon that cannot be contained.
The Nostromo was vaporised in the biggest explosion ever shown in an 'Alien' film (three of them, actually). It's safe to say nothing physical survived from that place.
@@securityrobot Realistically, Aliens would be fairly simple to contain. Just like how deinosaurs would be. Hollywood just prefers to try and introduce disasters to those equations.
Im just going to say it, i know its just my opinion but.....I hate the black goo. I wish it had never been introduced. I dont understand why people NEED to know where the alien comes from. Its so much scarier as a mystery.
We all knew already a long time ago that Xenomorphs are the biological weapons of the Engineers. The derelict ship in the first alien movie was fully loaded only with these eggs. Obviously the eggs were the cargo, and obviously this type of cargo was on its way to some distant place in the galaxy. We also suggest that something did happen inside the ship during the flight. We dont know exactly what happenned or why, but the Nostromo crew found a strange repeating signal, and that lead them right to the derelict ship. Later in the movie we realised that the signal itself isnt a SOS as Ripley think at first, but rather a warning signal (which is a bit contradictory from the screenplay perspective). The Space Jockey or Engineer if you want, was found inside this derelict ship, firmly rooted in his pilot chair with the familiar hole in the chest. So we can suggest that he was somehow attacked by the facehugger from the eggs inside the cargo, and that there was at one point an Alien that killed him due to this process. Probably, this was the reason why the derelict ship crash-landed on the LV-426. However, it wasnt so much a fall as an emergency landing, the derelict ship wasnt destroyed or damaged by the landing, so again, we could suggest that the pilot himself tried to land so as not to damage the cargo. The position of the ship itself speaks for itself. The only thing that we cant know is, if the Engineer was already infected before he piloted the ship or during the flight itself. Judging by the Ridley Scott Prometheus, the Engineer himself should be infected already before that, because Engineers are wearing a helmet with a tube, and facehuggers cant do anything against that. So, there are a lot of questions, and it also depends if we are still count on Prometheus lore or not.
The symbolism of playing with fire and unintentionally creating the Xenomorphs is quite compelling. Also the idea of a substance that generates infinite mutated horrid monstrosities is awesome. Awesome for seeing new awful things, more experiments more corporate meddling... all things the alien universe always thrived off of.
Maybe some outside group or Weyland Yutani themselves has a bounty on the black mutagen or royal jelly and this group somehow got the contract to retrieve it(or they just go with no authorization).
Dude I am genuinely excited for this movie. Have not felt this way about a film since force awakens wich was ultimately the start of me feeling nothing towards movie releases...maybe this will restore faith in film! High hopes
Even though I did not like the whole David character in the direction he was going I think it's only logical that we explore what happened to him afterwards and what research he left behind for these other scientists to study
I don’t get hyped by trailers but this is different, the sets alone look incredible. Hopefully Alvarez can do to the Alien franchise what Villeneuve did for Blade Runner.
To be honest, I don't mind the black goo, the idea of an organic chemical nanite being the true form of the alien so to speak is fine as far as I am concerned, it makes for a rather different kind of berserker. The idea that it works withing an organism to produce an efficient host for propagation of itself (the alien) and can adapt and improve designs of generations of host organism is a smart idea.
Aliens is one of my all time favourite movies, and I really love the Alien franchise in general, even if i was disappointed with some of the choices made with covenant concerning the lore and the supposed origin of the xenomorph (my headcanon denies it to be true!) Genuinely excited about this one though and its rare I feel that about any movie releases. Liking the theories you and others are having about the trailers. Its all very intriguing!
Now I’m starting to think that maybe Big Chap is the “meteor” thing and maybe contact with the goo revives him, and causes him to mutate/ evolve in a praetorian or queen or something else.
I have a theory that the big chap after being released is not getting along with the black goo aliens and although poses a threat to the humans and may kill some characters, at some point the big chap will join the fight against the black goo aliens in some form. Or the black goo aliens will attack the big chap and that allows the humans to escape, something like that. It would make sense seeing as they are not from the same hive and could see another hive member as a threat.
I know a lot of fans did not like Prometheus or the additions to the lore, and i understand that. But personally i think the potential of the black goo being used or referenced in this movie is a nice link back to the Engineers and the wider history of the Aliens at large. I think It was a plot device that has a lot of potential, but it was simply not used properly in Prometheus and Covenant.
Is the black goo storyline the reason why alien prequels failed in the first place ruclips.net/p/PLX5yXOVJBh4e1FXb1gWM-BgPAv3mdHZDd&si=J3QnRuFOOllmfmOH
If this is set between Alien and Aliens, then is it safe to assume Weyland-Yutani's "progress" here is completely lost and their saving grace Is locating the derelict craft?
Honestly I think the Engineer is going to appear in a sequel. The Black Goo was part of Prometheus/Covenant but I think Fede wanted to develop the characters with Romulus. You can only keep making these movies until you have to explore possible origins.
A question - and i kinda know the answer ( a species high technology and superior) but here it is why does a (facehugger) only attack the mouth? You have a ear - nose - eye. And thats the head only. Why only the mouth. And since we are crossing path with our animal line ( including Alien 3) What happens if a another alien speces without a typical mouth comes across the path of this creature????
Because the host has to survive the egg implant and being kept alive while the alien grows inside. Attacking the head also neutralizes the target to stop it from removing the hugger before it lays the egg and or before the alien has reached maturity enough to burst out - or else the host may be able to get it out somehow. And to your last point: what happens if the fox doesn't catch the hen?
I'm guessing that figure in the incubation room is an android. It looks very plastic and kinda featureless. It would awesome if that was a nod to Isolation and it was a Working Joe.
Prometheus is canon in the show as well, all they meant was they won't be referring to it, the show is from the perspective of a rival company, and they don't know of anyone else's involvement.
You missed it ,,, Mr H .. the intro red room where you claim a android is in , incubators ... look on the right side that's the front of a xeno face ... the front of it on the right !! Left is facehugger... and how do you get anything resurrection on this?? I dont think we are going to get anything alien 3 or resurrection in this movie.. buy will have to see
Someone else is engineering eggs on that ship.. Those weren't traditional eggs.. Fede is taking elements from Ridely's work.. I'm all for it.. Especially since David's final transmission after Covenant.. He released and shared all of his findings and experiments over a 10 yr span to Weyland Yutani.. An Olive Branch essentially.. So they have the all data they will ever need..
Actually that figure looks more like andy when his eyes roll back, i think he turns off the power to restart the system (hence the red lights from aliens) and the water is from the coolant that is melting. The facehuggers are awakening
I think you’re right. I hated the black goo as I wanted the alien to just be a species that the engineers held as biological weapons to set on a world so to speak. However, if this film can add to that narrative it may help us accept it and move forward.
The biggest problem with Prometheus was the dialogue and acting ... The basic story and concept had promise, but the way the characters spoke and were directed just killed the movie. If Prometheus had actors and the quality of dialogue we saw in the original Alien, I think it could have been a great movie. I didn't like the space jockey being reduced to a large humanoid, but I never had a huge issue with the black goo or its connection to the creation of the alien. I loved the deleted scene with Weyland boasting of his ambition at a 2023 TED talk .... He spoke about his hatred for rules and regulations ... basically claiming that caution and fear were holding back the human race. This attitude carried forward through the decades within Weyland-Yutani, and their ambition to control and weaponise the alien species despite the massive risks, was always fascinating to me.
1. That's andy in the background of incubation scene 2. It's not a queen ,it's the alien maturing and coming out of a pod as its grows 3. Don't think it's big chap. Heard he is not in this trailer
What if they are taking the approach of the new comics and mixing it with the unmade Gibson Alien III? The horrendous experiments and abominations we could see here seem to harken back to that. In the latter, they experimented with that to the point that two people morphed with one having a full grown xeno coming out of her (which is also reminiscent of the alien virus from the X Files). They could have not only found some of David 8 sick experiments and notes but besides that, they could have broken down part of the big chap DNA to find the black goo and realized this is the key component that the Engineers used to modify, destroy and create life.
Apparently there is a new alien creature in this movie , perhaps not as insane as the creauture from alien resurrection . But there is a scene in this trailer where it appears one of the females characters is giving birth . Not 100% sure as the scene was brief .
so much for distancing themself from prometheus & covenant, here comes the black goo! BTW, it looks to me that in the red room, that's not a worker, seems like someone on their knees with the hands tied back, maybe a victim for incubation? like in alien resurrection?
Id love to see Aliens bringing people to the eggs like in comics , breaking their legs etc so they can’t escape , I’d like to see adult aliens witnessing the birth of baby aliens , sharing a hiss could be cool imagery
But you look at the red containment stuff, and I just wonder was there a problem, like some crash or impact that shifted the contents of the containers around and let the aliens escape. But then asking again, why would things that contain such dangerous things be easily broken. And why even have human occupants on board the station, having pure synthetic staff would contain any outbreak. In the future everyone is stupid. I'm also trying to figure out the time frame, like does this take place over 24 hours, a week. In the 1st alien it took awhile for the big boy to be big. Also if they bring out big chap, is that more like, opps released, awhile they deal with the newly born one also?
I heard some rumors that in Robulus we will have a reunion with something similar to the "NewBorn" in Resurrection. A result of black goo With a more human face but a Xeno-Tail. Any information or leaks about that? Greetings
I like Prometheus, but I always looked at it as an else-world story separate from the first two Alien films. The engineer in a suit as the space jockey is stupid and it was clearly just petrified alien bones in the first film, so I just look at it as two timelines.
I believe they knew this space station was abandoned; they didn't plan to shoot their way in. The guns were to defend themselves. The risk vs reward, was more than acceptable and the team would disperse after this, with a sizable payout. The plot was by Wayland to lure someone, a team to get in and out, with the prize - the goo. The android was necessary, as even Wayland accepted that this was the only method of safely securing and moving the goo. The team as young and inexperienced, clearly had no idea how dangerous the mission was, only the payout. Getting in would be easier than getting out. I don't like that the original alien could be resurrected. Hollywood has issues with letting anything just die, from TV shows to now Aliens, somehow this creature survived? Amazing. I do like Resurrection however and a hybrid Ripley, though not Ripley 8 of course albeit similar, with acid blood; immune to the facehuggers and aliens, as her acidity makes her an un-viable host. Whoever the character, to add an edge to the team for good or bad.. Ridley Scott should stay away from this franchise. His one hit had two disasters in Covenant and Prometheus.
Love to see your passion on the ALIEN stuff H - Keep it coming please - I think the canister may be a holder for a facehugger during a WEYLAND YUTANI experimentation, I am guessing and hoping they do not connect it in any way to PROMETHEUS or COVENANT, the black goo is boring and nonsensical in the sense that it does not add anything in terms of interest (due to the poor movies it was presented in) or logically speaking how it works, they definitely need to remove those from canon as Noah is doing with the TV series - they are a mistake.

I hope we can see some kind of cocoon between the chest bursted and drone. How fast they grow has always been fascinating to me and its never shown.
Did you catch Mikes Monsters take on the new trailer. He saw a super early version of the film. He point blank said its not Big Chap. But definitely made some pointed comments hinting at experiments snd such. I think you're right on point.
Yeah, we haven't seen Big Chap yet that's what I always said, but I think we will at some point.
That's Andy rebooting in the chamber. Also there are TONS of pods so we will most likely see different angles. You can go watch Monster Mike to confirm, as he has seen the rough cut working in marketing. It's Andy doing his reboot.
Dude standing in the red room is Andy. It’s the same scene with his eyes rolling back. He’s rebooting/software update at a very inconvenient time
Inconvenient time? Dont worry, Facehuggers are not into the Synthetics. But others around him in that moment should be very worried, yes.
@@petrsvancara8785 Yes. Inconvenient for the crew because they could use his help. My fingers are crossed that we’ll see Andy be a heroic artificial person. Cheers
@@_GuyInTheChair Im still not entirely sure why he is collecting the stuff that he is carrying around the space station. He shouldnt be evil, I agree, but this type of activity seems very weird and out of his own focus. Maybe that the crew is just using him for that purpose, because nothing can happen to him. Who knows, Im just trying to realise why they are so invested into this laboratory stuff, I mean a bunch of kids, looking for home there. We will see, we will see.
Andy reboots because he is a weyland yutani synthetic so he is getting a new mission. To protect the alien I imagine
@@bentaylor5197 Good idea. I like your thinking. However, so far we dont know if these synthetics can be remotely controlled or rebooted at the distance. If its even possible. But somehow I got a feeling that you're right.
I kind of wanna see a space jockey or see David. Maybe even yutani discussing about a "bad synthetic " that went haywire ...
Spacey Jockey - only if they get the size correct.
David - only if they were going for a Covenant sequel which they aren't - otherwise I never want to see David again.
Definitely would like to see the Prometheus/ Covenant events tied-up and tied in, in some consistent way
David isn't in this movie
@@danielmoore4693 It will only happen if Romulus is a success and also why Scott is producing, but that is his only involvement in the movie.
i loved the black goo and the loved the direction covenant was going, even if it wasn’t the greatest alien movie
Whe H is this invested in Alien I get so excited. Can't wait for the film and more lore videos.
I personally thought the black goo was one of the more interesting parts of Prometheus/Covenant.
Agreed.
I really like that scene featuring the X-ray machine during the recent trailer.
I think that small claw extending looking thing in the trailer is a chestburster metamorphosizing into a "toddler" Xenomorph.
The GOO lol I love it you can't escape the GOO
I wonder if the face huggers have any connection to David's ones at the end of Covenant, and if Weyland-Yutani took any of his research? I also think that rock the ship takes onboard is the alien but with a formed protective outer shell.
Yeah I think that also that the rock is big chap in some kind of resin cocoon and the part of the trailer where the hands are over the head is him coming out of it
@@kerryprice1414 agreed especially when you see its hand “defrosting” or popping back into shape.
@@securityrobot But we see awhole nest of eggs when Kane/his other 2crew landed on the aliens homeplanet? 🤨🥚👀
Ripley burned them
The Nostromo was vaporised in the biggest explosion ever shown in an 'Alien' film (three of them, actually). It's safe to say nothing physical survived from that place.
@@securityrobot Realistically, Aliens would be fairly simple to contain. Just like how deinosaurs would be. Hollywood just prefers to try and introduce disasters to those equations.
Another glorious day in the corps!
Totally agree.
@JDA-Ruxley As do I😅
I hate the idea that they came from some stupid black goo instead of coming "naturally" from some planet/universe.
Looks like the best thing to come from Disney in a long time
Maybe some outside group or Weyland Yutani themselves has a bounty on the black mutagen or royal jelly and this group somehow got the contract to retrieve it(or they just go with no authorization).
So excited for this!!
Yes that is the mutagen. Would be cool if they explained finding it through David in the covenant film
Now I’m starting to think that maybe Big Chap is the “meteor” thing and maybe contact with the goo revives him, and causes him to mutate/ evolve in a praetorian or queen or something else.
Yeah I believe he is the big rock that comes in the ship also and the part of the trailer where the hands are over the head is him coming out of it
@@kerryprice1414 yes I think it’s a cocoon he formed around himself.
I think the covenant ship is drifting and some people from this colony try to salvage it. I think this is David's experiments that come to fruition.
Nope. Romulus is almost entirely set on a space station with the same name.
Bro I went right to your channel after I sa the trailer I'm so glad we're back baby with the alien lore 🥰
Looking forward to seeing the movie ...will they connect the first alien movie to this one ?
I know a lot of fans did not like Prometheus or the additions to the lore, and i understand that.
But personally i think the potential of the black goo being used or referenced in this movie is a nice link back to the Engineers and the wider history of the Aliens at large.
I think It was a plot device that has a lot of potential, but it was simply not used properly in Prometheus and Covenant.
David showing up in a post credit scene gonna be crazyy loll
David isn't in this film but it is said that we hear his message to W/Y in a deleted scene from Covenant.
Sad that people who hate this story thread. They just want a bug shootout movie. Shows how simple people are.
That scene with the facehuggers, that person looks like it's egg morphing.
I'm wondering if when the black android is "rebooting" if he is being uploaded with Weyland yutani commands to protect the alien?
My theory is the black goo comes entirely from a story writers need to be as cool and financially recompensed as Alex Krycek and the smoking man.
Is the black goo storyline the reason why alien prequels failed in the first place

@@logannelson1807 Prometheus didn't fail
If this is set between Alien and Aliens, then is it safe to assume Weyland-Yutani's "progress" here is completely lost and their saving grace
Is locating the derelict craft?
Honestly I think the Engineer is going to appear in a sequel. The Black Goo was part of Prometheus/Covenant but I think Fede wanted to develop the characters with Romulus. You can only keep making these movies until you have to explore possible origins.
Are they maybe praetorian face huggers?
Trailer good, cheers
A question - and i kinda know the answer ( a species high technology and superior) but here it is why does a (facehugger) only attack the mouth? You have a ear - nose - eye. And thats the head only.
Why only the mouth.
And since we are crossing path with our animal line ( including Alien 3)
What happens if a another alien speces without a typical mouth comes across the path of this creature????
Because the host has to survive the egg implant and being kept alive while the alien grows inside. Attacking the head also neutralizes the target to stop it from removing the hugger before it lays the egg and or before the alien has reached maturity enough to burst out - or else the host may be able to get it out somehow.
And to your last point: what happens if the fox doesn't catch the hen?
Will be see Blue’s “ Queen code “ from into Charybdis
You mean creative goo flowing.
Any Brits see Rishi Sunak on the left with a rifle? 🤣🤣🤣
Defo works for the company.
I'm guessing that figure in the incubation room is an android. It looks very plastic and kinda featureless. It would awesome if that was a nod to Isolation and it was a Working Joe.
They need to adapt either Aliens Earth Wars or Aliens Genocide from dark horse. Loved to have seen them his in live action or even in anime
They did say Prometheus is canon in the movie so that works... although, in the Alien show it won't be.
Prometheus is canon in the show as well, all they meant was they won't be referring to it, the show is from the perspective of a rival company, and they don't know of anyone else's involvement.
It was already explained in the leaks
You missed it ,,, Mr H .. the intro red room where you claim a android is in , incubators ... look on the right side that's the front of a xeno face ... the front of it on the right !! Left is facehugger... and how do you get anything resurrection on this?? I dont think we are going to get anything alien 3 or resurrection in this movie.. buy will have to see
Mr H, do you play the newer alien games?
im sure its big chap. the forcefield scene looks like he cocooned himself in space as a protective means.
So is this before or after ? And where is David at this time period???
I get Scooby-Doo in space vibes with alot of copied or call back scenes.
It's the space jockey pilot, they are trying to clone the creature, so they can learn from it, and understand their civilization.
I think you’re right. I hated the black goo as I wanted the alien to just be a species that the engineers held as biological weapons to set on a world so to speak. However, if this film can add to that narrative it may help us accept it and move forward.
The big chap is definitely morphing into something bigger
1. That's andy in the background of incubation scene
2. It's not a queen ,it's the alien maturing and coming out of a pod as its grows
We all knew already a long time ago that Xenomorphs are the biological weapons of the Engineers. The derelict ship in the first alien movie was fully loaded only with these eggs.

I don't want this to connect to Prometheus or Covenant.
why not?..it's part of the Disney Franchise so will obviously be connected drrr
I definitely do. We won't get a third film to complete the trilogy so maybe this will give some closure
Such an L take, there's no point in not connecting already established films.
I think the colony is Hadleys hope and the planet the rainassananc Station orbiting is LV-426, mark my words
Id love to see Aliens bringing people to the eggs like in comics , breaking their legs etc so they can’t escape , I’d like to see adult aliens witnessing the birth of baby aliens , sharing a hiss could be cool imagery
The x files had a black goo in it as well. Wonder if there could be a connection there at some point
Space Jockey's and Engineer's are NOT the same species. How many more times ffs!!
I love it.
Mr H I'm so fucking excited to see this God damn movie
Do you think we will see a post credit scene of David?
When is this releasing ? In theater?
