Being the best ret paladin in classic is like being the sharpest kid on the short bus. It's not a flex. The worst warlock on the planet can still do more damage then the best ret paladin.

Also I will say about SFK: So many quests reference Arugal, you see the infamous and deadly Sons of Arugal while levelling in zone ~12-16 and when you finally do run SFK it feels amazing and connected to everything else you've been doing. The entire zone builds up to the dungeon. Other dungeons sort of feel like a side attraction in relation to their zone - a theme park you can go visit. Not really super iconic just one of the many theme parks in the country.

Watching this gave me so many laughs it was great to see eafand a side of this day to give more context. I think if Chance saw the clutch in the dungeon before his paladin rant he might not think they are so bad.

BFD was chosen because ashenvale is their focus. They wanted to revamp one zone to keep players interested long enough to beta test. The new raid isnt there for long term content, its their for short term and exponentially better game testing. You are looking at the revamped raid in too much of a long term way. Also, the two towns in ashenvale are already set up for a tug of war or alterec valley type pvp zone.

healpala is a pretty good class on hc, even a ret pala can be very usefull in raids. (if he has awareness) you can literally prevent full whipes with one button press.
Bfd was a perfect choice for a raid... its only got 2 quests and 1 can be done outside, and one is a "talk to npc in the second room underwater".
SFK would make a great SoD raid, I would utilise the outside Pyrewood village as part of the raid too.

The reason they did BFD is because it's in Ashenvale, the location of Warsong Gulch, and the world PvP event they're basing on it.
It's not about BFD. It's about getting everyone into that zone, for epic memories.
I wish the outside areas in sfk were actually outside so druids could do stuff there.

I completly disagree about the BFD choice. SFK is connected to Gillneas, and they might make a raid and a zone there, and then it would be kinda meg having 2 raids next to eachother, but better to have the SFK dungeon as a buildup to Gillneas.
na I think BFD is perfect for the raid because its super underplayed, and like you said it was kind of incomplete. so they can tune it, and make it better. its also one of the hardest pre30 dungeons probably
Esfand needs to get some voice therapy stat. Just drinking water is good and all at keeping your throat moist, but it isn't helping the actual problem area which is your larynx. Going hoarse from overusing your voice like he does can over time cause permanent vocal damage, especially with how often it happens to him. it's an actual problem.
Agree 100%... SFK would've been a much better choice for the p1 raid.

hearing that MC was made in a week makes a great deal of sense. Just about every boss is tanknspank and it's all just a bunch of tunnels with no real design to the look of the dungeon
They were looking at wrong part it started before that, 100% Miz's fault he ran down the stairs and face pulled the boss room and blamed it on the other random guy.

I think BFD was a great choice for a raid but not necessarily as the first raid. It's not a very memorable dungeon and I think Deadmines or Shadowfang Keep would have been way better choices for a first raid tier to get people hooked and excited for what the revamped raids would be. BFD as is isn't really something you're excited about on it's own but it is a great way for Blizzard to show what the revamped raids could look like and generate some genuine excitement for Gnomeregan, Scarlet Monastery and other future, more memorable dungeons.

miz wasn't using sunder armor as a "tank" he wasn't getting any aggro he was just another dps with a bad weapon choice at that point it was his fault

SFK is great but too claustrophobic for 10man imo
I like paladin and druid because of them being able to handle many roles in a party. The strength of the hybrid class is that versatility, even if the single purpose classes will do better than them in their specialist role. This, understandably and regrettably, comes with its own adversity when trying to optimize and maximize a raid composition. Druid is a very interesting one, because on top of tank/melee dps/heal that paladins can perform, it also has the ability to do ranged dps and stealth. I feel like the proper way to play these hybrid classic is to adapt to what is the most beneficial or effective way on a situational basis, even if paladin excels as the single target healer the most out of how the class plays with vanilla's abilities/talents/numbers and itemization.

And SFK is too small for 10 man, and a great source for "pre raid bis" for casters for prepping the raid
So, I'm confused - will there be seal twisting or not? I really REALLY want it to stay, but I think that all the newfags can't be bothered to learn how to do it properly so there's a solid chance it's gonna be gone. I see that Esfand is clicking it here, but I don't see any actual seal twist procs (or maybe I'm just blind)

Id rather have a smart ret pally over a dumb dps warrior in my hardcore dungeon grp any day. Ret offers way more than a dps warrior. Ret off heals off tank buffs stuns cc decent damage ret is so under rated. If shit hits the fan and some huntard pulls extra pack id rather have a ret pally in my party.
