Truly we gloriously witness a Master Paladin teaches his faithful squires to become true Champions of the light! Do Squire Will and Squire Cyr prevail and archive greatness or fall down to a dark path? Time will tell! We may know in the next episode of Crusade Ball Z.
I think Will having a stroke over your keybinds was some of the best classic wow content I've seen in quite some time and it really does show the wow experience, I did a similar thing with a friend 8 months ago and they looked at me like i had two heads.
Hey Esfand, I think your takes for Classic WoW have been pretty spot on. I do have a thing, regarding dual specialization though. Why not simply require that you be in a rested area in order to swap specs? That alleviates all of arbitrage that comes along with it while providing the exact same degree of socialization (going to cities, using summons, etc). I think in that case it IS indeed possible to get the best of both worlds.
Man i love this content its so god damn good, i started playing wow classic myself for the first time, joined a guild with a bunch of fantastic people and they have been just teaching me stuff about the game its so awesome!
The thing is if you've played you get the logic for allot of Esfand's keybinds, even if you do it differently. Like ctrl+c is good for summoning mount because you can hit it quickly without much chance of mis clicking or hitting it by accident.
I just recently started watching Esfand so I'm not sure what the lore is, but he talks about DAoC so much I have to assume he played it back in the day. Has he ever talked about playing on one of the DAoC community servers? EdenDAoC is incredible, and they have a huge PvP update coming soon that is going to allow RvR in the entire open world. There's new capital city sieges and all kinds of crazy stuff.
I have zero interest in wow, but this kind of content is always fun. Seasoned vet teaching new players in any game, especially complex ones, scratches my brain in a good way
Got into this rabbit hole from Rav, now this makes me wish I had a computer growing up. So mischievous to learn that it makes it seem even more fun to me, albeit overwhelming
F, G, R and ~ some of my favorite keybinds, u also modify these to shift-F, shift-G, ect. to get really comfortable hitting those keys specifically and only modifying the same keybind over and over rather than trying to remember 20 brand new binds; you can essentially dumb them down to 10 or less if you use shift/ctrl modifyers. hope this helps good vid👌🏼
when it comes to gaming people don't understand that it's all in the micro. i am an fps player orginally but the reason i got good was because i spent time configuring my keybindings finding a good keyboard and mouse that i felt comfortable with, down to measuring your desk and chair so your arms rest naturally and don't put strain on your shoulders/neck. in a game like wow keybinds are very important but it's not cookie cutter, you have to put time into theorizing what feels good for you for what cooldowns. if you simply do this you enter a higher tier of gamers.
When I learned that using anything past like 5-6 on my keyboard for binds was useless and started using my mouse and shift/control binds, WoW opened up in an entirely new way for me. Definitely one of the most important early things to learn to master this game. Will is about to achieve his ultimate form. Good job with the rookies, Esfand!
for me my keybinds have a certain category to it. control e is my pvp trinket. F is for kicks. g and control g are some type of defensive. control c is either blade flurry or some type of instant cast natures swiftness or a damage buff. y is for movement, control y is cheetah form often. r is an easy to hit button, thats a stun, e is an easy to hit button, thats gogue control 1 is stealth
yeah I do the same thing! Q and E are my main abilities for dps, R is bleed or dot in general, F is stun, T and G are some kind of ranged ability if I have those, C and V are the least used abilities, usually with bigger cds, 1-4 are secondary situational abilities. These change a bit depending on the class tho
Kinda similar. R is kick, modified Rs are stuns, Fs are all oh fuck buttons, Es & Qs are some of the main skills, 1234 are usually other long CDs, F1-F3 are warrior stances or pally auras, z x c v are less often used things.
I've played WoW on and off since Vanilla and never knew paladins used "seal twisting" and the reason this really caught my attention is that this clearly seems to flow directly in from EverQuest and i wonder how many people who use "seal twisting" even think about why it's called that. In EQ the Bard class had 3 second cast time spells that they called songs but each spell lasted 9 seconds. Basically the tactic was to sing 1 stop sing 2 stop sing 3 repeat, and that was called twisting. You were allowed to have 8 spells on your bar at a time so a bard could create really diverse buff arrangements. The thing Esfand brought up about the 400ms also reminded me of a very similar thing with bards which was that you could actually pump 4 songs at once if you timed it just right. I think that was actually a weird consequence of latency + in game ticks. Basically the game only checked for buffs to wear off at certain intervals so you would see the buff timer hit 0 seconds and blink but the player would retain the buff until the server did a tick and checked for the buffs to wipe off the bar. The funny part is that back then most people heavily complained about twisting because it was "too much button spam" but those were 3 second cast time songs. It's a bit funny to think about now in WoW with a 1.5s GCD and any DPS class is basically expected to be precasting every single GCD on top of slipping in non GCD spells. I was playing a fire mage and you had to be able to pop your crit spell between all your other actions and then if your crits trigger you are changing up your rotation on the fly. Back in EQ days, a wizard was standing there casting 6 second ice comets & Clerics were lining up 10 second heals.
I do press up to 5 but you need to keep 1-4 and shift 1-4 As the skills you use most often with lowest cooldown so you dont hurt your hands as much. E being a very easy to hit button
Played a lot of WoW up through AQ40 in vanilla but haven't played since.. just got into HC wow and it's honestly the most fun i've had playing an MMO since probably EQ, FFXI, and WoW came out. It's so refreshing, hard, unforgiving and I LOVE IT. Playing a Druid and just really enjoying myself.. Died first try at Lv10. Lets make it this time.

Also Im so glad esfand believes in keeping all 6 default movement keys. people have been calling me bad at wow for years and years because I always kept them.
as a left handed player without a gaming mouse, i'm always jealous of the normal people keybinds. I have to do hardcore keyboard gymnastics to play the game properly on a good level 😅
I used to jerk off with my right hand and then I told myself that's stupid I should use my left hand so I did. It felt awkward for a while like I had extra fingers but it was possible and now it's completely natural to me. I jerk off all the time and no one knows.
I remember back in the day with I first started playing. My family had just got a computer and internet for the first time ever and WoW became the first game on PC i had ever played. I was such a noob that I used the actual arrow keys on the keyboard to move, no use of mouse what so ever lmao.

It really doesn't matter what spells you use if you do this for maybe 3 days it opens up those binds for whatever you want and thats just the beginning :D
Sorry for typing a 200 word essay lmao holy shit.
my friend thaught me his keybind and over time i modified it to my own
I use mouse button side 1 and 2, as so called shift 1 2 3 4 it makes it sooo much easier 😁
I think that seal twisting was over explained cause I didn't understand shit.
He has naga (or something akin to that) why would you tell him to unbind everything above 6? D:
I still don't understand how people use Ctrl keybinds it just feels so uncomfortable.
The title says it all lol
Amen to to strafe keys staying as they are
Will’s Sensei arc

Using other peoples keybinds is how clickers are born 😲☝️

It's fucking nuts how much WoW has blown up again. I follow a fairly wide range of people on twitch and nearly the entire side panel is all WoW now lol
I think I am the only one who uses SZXC to controll my character, so I can use from A-G, Q-T, 1-6 + all of them with shift, alt, ctrl for binds XD
what in the non efficient keybinds is this?
this is absolutely interesting. whoever told will to do it off stream is wrong.
i played wow for 12years and i never used CTRL + anything as a keybind, just let him play how he likes
Ctr + something is pretty hard to use in pvp or something that u have to react fast, i use ctrl+1 2 3 etc, to mount or eat
I played pally all the way to 60, 70 and didnt do any of this twisting. Its cool though.
Ok anyone here able to answer WHAT WEAPON SWING TIMER actually works with wow classic hardcore?
cant get it to work
Esfand couldnt take it being a Will Druid. Sadge
he shouldve just let him use Q E R T F G V and use shift with them for the 2nd action bar
i didnt know i liked cyr this much
Wait will was pressing all the way to 9 that’s ridiculous I also don’t press past 5 it’s uncomfortable
can you imagine playing wow for the first time and trying to hit ctrl + C for something important lol
I know keybinds are personal and all but esfand's make my brain hurt. And I play a druid in retail so I have a million keybinds.
I do same, once I get to 6 I change it to R and 7 to F. Who wants to reach all the way to 6-9 with left hand
Yeah I do E R Q F X C etc.
@@xXSinForLifeXx yep, most people don’t even bind ‘~ key too
A and D should be strafe
Chat is this real
It is real.
