You can’t go by the pointer on the fan screw because everyone of these guns they put the knob on in a different area before they put the screw in it, The line on the knob is not pointing to the same spot on every gun when opened up all the way
Nice video, if I ever do top coat I will remember this. I have drilled my purple gun tip out to 2mm so I can spray latex paint. I actually have two purple guns and the 2nd gun has not been altered. I have also thinned the latex with a latex conditioner. But I am getting little splats here and there. It seems after it dries the splats are harder to see, but still there. I can sand them off. I have tried playing around with the settings, but have not found the sweet spot yet. If you have done any latex, I would sure like to know your settings.
@@chompcrc4701 Oh shoot! Thanks for the quick reply! Tried thinning more and it helped some, but now I have some heavy or thick spots here and there. With the paint so thin, it is really flowing better, but can get heavy build up if not careful. Need more practice, better technique and proper settings. For some reason my regulator at the gun would not change no matter which way I turned it. With paint already in the gun, I just went with the 45 psi. until paint was all gone. Kind of in panicky mode. Probably should have undone the quick disconnect and then move the regulator knob, but I panicked.
I wonder if I wasn't running pressure too low. I was running at about 20 psi and 2&1/2 fluid screw and my fan wasn't near as wide as your probably half if that. And I ended up with at least 5 runs and orange peel my first time. I'll have to give this a try
Yes. The settings are just what I found are the best for the paint flow. You will have a lot of dust to wet sand after the fact most likely, so be prepared.
Hello my problem is on the clear coat. Im using a Dupli Color clear coat that is already pre mixed but could be thinned with acetone but not necessary. My first shot painting clear on 2 doors ...the back of the car resulted in dab or not shiny clear. The car is a dark grey mettalic paint. I used a .8 mm mini gun and thought that would do the job with a pancake compressor but im suspecting my problem is im getting big dropplets and not enough air...etc. I upgraded ...i bought myself a 20 gallon compressor...will use a bigger but cheap 1.4mm nozzle gun with an air regulator and filter. What are the best settings on these cheap guns to get at least a decent mirror finish? Please help?
This helped a lot!

Thanks for the instructions bro👍
No problem. I hope your project turns out okay.

I haven’t done any latex. Sorry.

What was your mix and paint type?
Thankyou for this
@@kirksholars8232 you’re welcome. It was a learning process for me too.
Did you adjust the air valve on the gun? (The knob at bottom of handle near regulator)
It was wide open, because I used an attached valve that has a gauge.
@@chompcrc4701 alright thank you!

I’m painting in a garage with not a lot of fans or airflow are these settings still good?
