Glad to help 😊❤️ but keep in mind if the fuse blew you will need a new pse. It will happen again. Most likely due to an air leak and the pump running extra .
Yes, it's another EZ fix I would try spraying soapy water first on air hose leading to the strut under the hood, 2. the relay in the fuse box right side maybe bad, finally yes sometimes the hose on the pump can leak also I would buy another hose that's attached to the pump, shelf life with rubber is only 5 yrs. if that's leak most of the Mercedes problems are a EZ fix Mercedes likes to hide and tuck stuff it all a process of elemi nation car, a EZ fix.

Thank you for this video! No joke this is one of the most clear and precise informative videos I've watched on the w220. Do you by chance happen to have a video or instructions on how to install the radio fin antenna cover?
#78 fuse (fnt passenger side) blows when I put a new one. My key will not turn, won't lock/unlock doors/trunk. The trunk unlocks from the rear & from inside the car. I've checked all the fuses under the rear seat & all were good. I'm STUCK! This video didn't address my SPECIFIC problem, but I LIKED & SUBSCRIBED anyway because I like the way you hold class. @@MasterTechLou Actually I followed other advice and disconnected the "Alarm Siren" which turned out to be a charm. I inserted the fuse, and it's working just fine.

Liked and Subscribed. I just purchased a 2006 S430 with 45k miles knowing the PSE was bad. My new pump came today and it took about 5 minutes to install. Nothing works. I can hear the pump whirring when I push the lock or unlock buttons but the locks don't move. I've tried pulling the (perfectly good) fuse. Still nothing but the whirring. Any suggestions?
Hey buddy nice video. I have a 2004 S55 my Doors Not Open everything is working inside softclose trunk. But i cant Open it with the key… what could it be ? Maybe door control Unit ? Keyless start is also working when i open car with key..
I'd be pretty reluctant to use a used' pump. You don't know the miles of the car it came off of, or how long it has been sitting. In my 95 f150, the Hvac used a vacuum system like this to actuate the vents-- and I always hated it. I'm shocked to see these cars use such an extensive vacuum system like this. There's just too many points of failure IMO.
Thanks for this video. I greatly appreciate you. I have a 2000 S500 and the left rear door will not open at all from inside or outside. The truck will not open with the remote but only with the key. Help!
Help, ok so , make sure the key slot is vertical not horizontal. Read the owners manual on “valet mode” and youll see why. That can be why. Or a leak. As for the door, latch is most likely rusty. Only fix is pull both door handles and whoever is on the inside just keep banging on door. I have seen sticking latches and I have seen sticking door seals. Crazy how a door seal can keep a door from opening. Best of luck
Hey Lou, great video! I have inherited a mint 2003 S500 4matic with 29k on it that is having a issue with the trunk open and close. All of the soft close work on the whole car, including the trunk. How can I check was is causing the power assist not to open up or close down? Thanks
Need a scanner. Also open the trunk all the way, press and hold the close button until the car dings. Usually takes about 10 seconds. Then see if the trunk works. If not, it can be a number of things wrong.
Lou, thank you for all you do. I have a. 2002 S55. All of the buttons on dash don't work for some reason....including ABS, shades etc....could the ABS module be culprit or what do you think...?
Lou I have a 2004 s55 with 75000 miles engine running good but lately electrical problems trunk not unlocking via key or trunk button i was told i need new actuator ?? Additionally, my battery went dead had AAA put in new one and head lights will not shut off before this the radio would sometimes not work but then when driving for a while it comes back on is this a control module issue and if so can is it something a DIY could do
Anyone can diy with the right scanner, patience and access to how the systems work. Like I said in the video pull the fuse. Put it back in. If the trunk now works it’s because you do have a leak. As for lights, check your front left fuse box cover, hope its not loose and water didnt get in there. As for radio, they fail often. So may need a new one.
Hey ty. One question. Three door was working except 1 with sucking system. When i ised this door it sounded like something broke inside. And then the door is locked now. The rest are working except this one . Need to change the pump?ty

Thank you for such a prompt response. The information was very helpful, but I replaced the old pump which had literally melted to the casing. I installed a used pump that runs but still have the same problem. I would be very grateful for any further information. Should I get a new or rebuilt model. Thank you so much
I’m gonna try the pump issue and the fuse. My locks/trunk/door suction not working. Also, my key won’t turn, I’ve been having issues with needing to jump my car so I purchased a new battery but it still periodically will need to be jumped. My key won’t turn but all my interior lights are on. My alarm button isn’t working but my unlock alarm button works. Help!,,,
My 01 s500 The only door that unlocks is the passenger side front. The trunk won't pop unless I use the key. Then I hear air hissing from around the Latch area when I do open it. None of the soft doors work except for the passenger sign and the postfeature doesn't work on any of my seats. U think this is the pse? The fuse was fine and the hoses are red not yellow
Most likely you have every element failed. Soft close will not work if locks wont work. Could also be pse not activating the solenoids for each branch. Will need more diagnostics done
Our cars didnt start making a lock or unlock sound until certain models. And if they can, the setting is in the dash. Some if memory serves needed to be turned off with a scanner but the beeps didnt start until w211 and w203 chassis I think.
Also A/c is hot on the half end of the car (co driver) & cold on the Driver side, my w220 is with climate control; whats the problem there pls? Is it a fan or a fuse? It aint the cooling gas level, thats ok…thank you!
hoses tend to break where they bend, like in between doors, and trunk lid hinge. you can use a smoke machine, trick is cant put too much air pressure as if you test the wrong line it can blow the air element.
@@moemado8871 ok you most likely lost synchronization. Start the car. Pull the switch DOWN and hold it, it should move the glass closed and then it should open the vent. Once it does, pull it down again to close it and it should work 1 touch.
This symptom happens a lot after a car has suffered from a flat battery... I am going to guess that Jump starting the car blows the Locking fuse.? I don't have this model with the pneumaticx.
not in my experience no, jump starting the battery should have no effect on just the lock pump, that would be very odd that it would be the only fuse that blew. the only time that fuse blows is due to a bad motor. if it blew once it will definitely blow a second time. if the pump even works after installing the fuse.
Hello, I have a problem with opening the MB W220 500S 4 Matic, when the temperature drops below zero, I replaced the batteries in the key, the battery is new, when the car warms up, it opens without any problems I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, ANY HINT?
obviously temperature related. in this instance I use a heat gun to warm up whatever module I need to focus on. and or put a module in the freezer to get the issue to happen on purpose.
Why does my trunk do that what is wrong with the trunk latch ?.also my lock with my key only works from my door handle but far away it doesn't I replaced then rear headliner antenna for door lock it didn't fix problem because I think I need a new rear window because the pads touch the glass and the connection is around the glass are not that great is it just the glass??? Also when I use my air ride buttons they work and then when I go to use them again to change setting they just stay lite up red and don't allow me to change them smh.
@@joem.575 ok gotcha, if you mean NEW as in NEW from dealer, you can part warranty it. if you mean new as in used, you may have just gotten a bad pump. they dont burn out quickly, also once you replace it you can check every door with soft close and trunk soft close and locking and unlocking and listen for the leak its typically easy to find.
Have a question I have a 06 s430 and when I press trunk open on remote it tries to raise but the lock doesn't open. I changed puck, and same result. When I use key to unlock trunk then use trunk open inside the car, it raises but I had to manually open it. Any suggestions ?
The lock is operated by the air from the pse . If there was a leak at one time the pse will stop air to that circuit. Youll have to pull the fuse just like I mentioned in the video.
Here's a interesting one : keys ok , all fueses and relays ok , battery very ok, nothing works just hazards flashing fast , no ignition life(as in ignition not releasing when key inserting) with either keys so impossible to use diags ....
You say interesting I say symptoms. When you insert the key the transmission is strictly between the key and ignition switch. So if it wont unlock the issue is either the key or ignition switch. If you try 2 keys and still No go, then its ignition switch failure provided that you confirm power and ground to the switch.
@@fernandoruiz2596 no you cannot they are vin coded. Youll have to have the dealer replace it. Or find someone that can overwrite a used one with your vin.

I have a 2005 S430. The truck won't open with the key fob, or from the driver side door latch (only with the key). Door locks do not work from key fob, or the dash buttons. However, from the fob, when I press lock, the alarm sets and if you open the doors the alarm goes off until you press unlock on the key fob. Also, the soft close doors do not work. I changed the fuse, but it didn't change anything. Help?
Hey sorry to hear. 😔 . There could be a number of reasons why this could happen. The most common Is a failed steering lock. But there can be so many reasons for this. All I can say from here is that theres nothing that can be done to force a mercedes to start. So its gonna have to be towed to a shop or mechanic with Mercedes capable scanners and experience.
I have issue with my 2000 S500 my windows don’t work dash lights and front power seats don’t work what could be the issues someone told me it’s part called sam that control all that can any one point me in the right direction
only thing I can advise is getting a scanner and reading all the codes to see what the codes are and then finding out if all modules are communicating. However if you do not know all the modules that should be communicating then it will not help you. The right direction is to not assume what can control all the items, but to have someone with Mercedes specific knowledge scan the car and get an assessment of what's happened. I looked at the wiring and the only correlation between what's happening is the data communication system, not a fuse.
Wellllll. I have discovered that it is a little more difficult to get out than your video shows when your motor has completely melted the plastic housing and the carpet padding that's around it hahaha

This video didn't address my SPECIFIC problem, but I LIKED & SUBSCRIBED anyway because I like the way you hold class. GREAT VIDEO. Any help on my specific issue? As a browse through your videos hoping to find the solution.
THANK YOU
Fuse 78 should be for your ignition switch. You need a new ignition switch most likely. Dealer install only . Appreciate you watching and subbing. ♥️
@@MasterTechLou Actually I followed other advice and disconnected the "Alarm Siren" which turned out to be a charm. I inserted the fuse, and it's working just fine.
GUYS IF YOU CAN LOCK AND UNLOCK THE CAR FROM INSIDE BUTTONS ON THE DASH, BUT THE KEY IS NOT LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE CAR IT CAN BE FUSE 60 7.5 amp.(located under rear right seat) FOR ANTENNA BOOSTER AND PROBALY IT IS, CHECK IT
Thanks!
I have my driver door lock and soft stop closing. everything else works. well passenger lock works sometimes but soft close works. my car is a 2003 cl55 amg . fuse is good but scan tool reading all the codes in the PSE so now based on your video im thinking the pump is bad thank you.
Most likely line is cracked in the door jamb or the lock element is leaking.
But if you do have codes for every circuit then yes most likely weak pump
lou you might be right i do hear air leaking in the door jamb area an issing sound after i turn the car off @@MasterTechLou
when i clear the code with my autel scanner all 6 codes came back@@MasterTechLou
Bad pump , clogged inlet line, or massive leaks everywhere. All answers are in the video
Thank you for sharing this knowledge!
Bro thank you so much it’s been sitting here for months finally on and you said what I’d bad the pc something is bad I couldn’t hear

Great info.Thank you for all the tips, I hope that fix the issue on my s500, good bless you.
Did you tried that?
Wow, awesome vid, thank you!!
Thank you!
What fuse is 62 or where is located in a 2001 s500? I don’t see it in the light fuse box in back seat
In W220, Battery's condition is very important, and weak will affect many functions
absolutely
I’ll give it a try. Thanks @@MasterTechLou
Thx! Am an owner & it seems to me that the PSE pump is gone; no door buttons going up or down & boot lid stays closed, probably an air leak too??
Thank you for this video. Very helpful 👌
Hi
Do you have any videos on mercedes diagram ?
On how to read them and what the symbols mean
Lou, thank you for all you do. I have a. 2002 S55. All of the buttons on dash don't work for some reason....including ABS, shades etc....could the ABS module be culprit or what do you think...?
Its called an upper control panel. And fails often. All the buttons are part of one panel.
@@MasterTechLou OK. Thank you so much Lou!

Thanks
Hey ty. One question. Three door was working except 1 with sucking system. When i ised this door it sounded like something broke inside. And then the door is locked now. The rest are working except this one . Need to change the pump?ty

On my 2006 S500 the driver door wont lock or self close. Every other works fine, what could it be??

Hi, I have a w220 2004 s500 4 Matic 5l v8 engine and my teleaid malfunction drive to the nearest dealer is on. how can I clear it and what obd code reader will clear it. thank you.
Hello Master Tech
What is the issue if the pump continues to run, but doors still don't work
Pump cant build pressure or
Vacuum itself. Bad pump. Most likely culprit
How to make it make noise when you hit lock button… any way to take it off from quiet mode?
Our cars didnt start making a lock or unlock sound until certain models. And if they can, the setting is in the dash. Some if memory serves needed to be turned off with a scanner but the beeps didnt start until w211 and w203 chassis I think.
How did you PSE box to check the ground wire?
Small screwdrivers. The case just pops and snaps together.
Great content!
Also A/c is hot on the half end of the car (co driver) & cold on the Driver side, my w220 is with climate control; whats the problem there pls? Is it a fan or a fuse? It aint the cooling gas level, thats ok…thank you!
Great info.
Is there an exact way to find the leak in the air hoses?
hoses tend to break where they bend, like in between doors, and trunk lid hinge.
you can use a smoke machine, trick is cant put too much air pressure as if you test the wrong line it can blow the air element.
What if battery on key is good (new battery), doors lock from button on dash, fuses are good, but lights nor locks respond to the key?
Video shows everything. Bad key
Can u please make a video on the roof doesn't open and close from the 1st click to the roof botton
You mean 1 button express open and close?
@@MasterTechLou yes
@@moemado8871 ok you most likely lost synchronization. Start the car. Pull the switch DOWN and hold it, it should move the glass closed and then it should open the vent. Once it does, pull it down again to close it and it should work 1 touch.
@@MasterTechLou
It worked 💪 thanksss
@@moemado8871 tech tip, it may even show that in the owners manual 😉
This symptom happens a lot after a car has suffered from a flat battery... I am going to guess that Jump starting the car blows the Locking fuse.?
I don't have this model with the pneumaticx.
not in my experience no, jump starting the battery should have no effect on just the lock pump, that would be very odd that it would be the only fuse that blew. the only time that fuse blows is due to a bad motor. if it blew once it will definitely blow a second time. if the pump even works after installing the fuse.
Thanks soo much!!!
Does this translate to a Clk240?

I don’t know how I can help when the video clearly shows the location? Thats the best help I can provide.
Well I can tell you if you have an S550 then its not this same car. So you don’t have the same system. This model didnt offer a 550.
I’ve had an issue where when I put a new pump in and the pump instantly burned out… I’ve checked fuses and wiring but no luck… suggestions?
new pump only? like replaced just the pump inside the pse housing?
@@MasterTechLou the whole unit. I’m suspecting maybe a leak in the hosing which maybe causes it to constantly run.
@@joem.575 ok gotcha, if you mean NEW as in NEW from dealer, you can part warranty it. if you mean new as in used, you may have just gotten a bad pump. they dont burn out quickly, also once you replace it you can check every door with soft close and trunk soft close and locking and unlocking and listen for the leak its typically easy to find.

hey i had blown fuze. i fixed the motor wire and the pump works now but still my locks and soft close doesnt work what do i do

Is there a length of time having fuse out ? Because I tried that and it didn't work. And thank you for quick response
@@tomkat2803 then you most likely have massive leak or assembly is rusted stuck
Hey I’m having a issue with the key not turning in my 04 s500 4 matic Mercedes-Benz can’t start the car… what is this?
Hey, sorry to hear.
Car battery
Ignition switch
Blown ignition switch fuse
Bad key.
I hope it works out for you. Lou
If you try 2 keys and still
No go, then its ignition switch failure provided that you confirm power and ground to the switch.

I have a 2005 S430. The truck won't open with the key fob, or from the driver side door latch (only with the key). Door locks do not work from key fob, or the dash buttons. Hey currently experiencing my Mercedes Benz c300 locked in drive. I can’t drive or put it in park or neutral. It won’t start. Please help
Thank you
