So I’ve had a Vector .45 for 5 years now. I’ve SBR mine. Couple of things I can throw out. There is a trigger modification you can do, it’s just replacing a screw. Doesn’t remove pull weight but does remove trigger take up. I have a magpul foregrip on mine. Definitely helps with the magazine release issue. There is a rail you can put on the side. I have a light on mine. I’m left handed and I don’t really have any issues handling this. I’ve put a couple thousand rounds through mine and I shoot matches with it. By far one of my favorite guns to shoot and a head turner on the range.
@@tonynguyen5327 I did at first. The springs are heavy so sometimes I get a stovepipe. Other than that, it runs pretty good. I did file down the mag catch a little bit, not supposed to insert a mag with bolt closed and it's a tight fit if you do but I solved that issue. Any issues I do have are normally related to the magex mags. If the mags are running fine, then I can dump several mags very quickly with no issues. The gun does get dirty very quickly. And I mean VERY quickly. But I haven't had that play any issue with operation at all.
I could see myself pressing that for sure. Especially if she was taking her hand off the grip and holding more of the weight of the gun in her front hand. It's sort of an useful illustration for a review.
Watching you just go with it after the mag dropped is actually so much more inspiring than I could describe. The showmanship is real. :) Also, after being able to play with one at my local shop, I was told it’s possible to add a mag release button (not sure if they meant relocate) on the right side, where it would sit under your index finger. If that’s possible it may help with the mag drop issue :)
Thanks Kirsten. Your reviews are appreciated. We don’t always need all the detailed technical specs - just how the guns functions and you are thoroughly on regarding this. This is more of a real world review for how most of us would use the gun. I have owned a couple of these and you are correct - they are quirky but fun. Glad you are back and please please please do more reviews. Thanks again.
I owned a Vector in .45ACP. 9 times out of 10, light strike, misfire, wait 30 seconds.... This was an early Gen. so maybe they strengthened their firing pins. My other issue was just the bulk (especially with .45) - it was a **heavy** gun. I think you called it a paddle; at least with the .45 variant I would categorize it more as an oar. Ingenuity-wise, though, very modern. I tend to stay away from PCRs and would much rather have one of my AR SBRs in 5.56 or .300BLK handy - especially with a can. Much lighter, and with the can on the front, excellent compensation.

Absolutely in love with my Vector. Runs like a champ, super easy takedown, almost no recoil, and super quick inside 50 yards (for me) Worth every penny imo

I have shot my 45 ACP vector a lot and have never accidently released the mag. I added a vertical grip with integral flashlight on the lower forward rail. This solves the grip issue and works fine for me. I do agree about the safety though. I added an Aimpoint to mine and it makes it almost impossible to not put every round on target. I really like mine.

I have one in 10mm, rifle length, and generally agree with everything here. Recoil: It's not *less* recoil than other systems, but it's definitely less muzzle *rise* than other systems. Decide if side-to-side thrash is better than muzzle rise for you. With iron sights, I'd say it is. Magazine release: Yes, easy to hit accidentally. I have longer arms so the mag well isn't in a great position for my grip anyway. I have a stubby foregrip in front of it and use that. Sights vs bore axis (height over bore): This is a very noticeable issue at close range! Shooting as much as 3 or even 4 inches below your point of aim could be a deal breaker for some. As a range toy, it's something you need to keep in mind until you're out at least 25 yards. On the other hand, the bore is indeed pretty much right in line with your trigger finger and wrist, and that may be a bigger contributor to the controllability/recoil impulse than the recoil system itself. Double-edged sword. Charging handle heaviness/stiffness: Kirsten, yours is not an anomaly. Mine is *very* heavy, which may be due in part to a heavier spring for 10mm. In any case, I would not recommend this for folks who are getting on in age, or are on the lower end of arm strength. That said, (1) it's not much worse than an AR-15 and (2) there is a workaround: propping the stock against my hip and pulling back in more of a "rowing" motion works for me when I'm worn out or if I'm trying to clear a malfunction. About the only thing I disagree with is the comment that this wouldn't be good for left-handed shooters. As a rightie, I'd prefer the charging handle was on the right anyway. The safety is ambidextrous. The mag catch is easy to hit from the other side. Hitting the bolt release shouldn't be too tough as a leftie either (just slap it with the palm of your right hand after reloading). So it might not be *ideal* for a leftie since it doesn't have true ambi controls, but I imagine it'd be just "fine." Overall, I don't think the Vector in semi-auto does anything a more traditional, similarly-priced system can't do better, except perhaps if you are doing a lot of rapid fire and sticking with iron sights, in which case the lack of muzzle climb is a big deal. In semi-auto it's a neat range toy that does some things differently. But wouldn't be a great choice for competition, nor as your first/only PCC unless you just love the weirdness. Two other notes about the 10mm: (1) shooting full house 10mm loads causes the cases to be severely dented on the brass deflector, so much so that the case can't be reloaded, at least without prying the crescent-moon shaped case mouth back open. So I shoot .40 S&W loads in 10mm cases. It cycles fine. (2) I frequently get failures to feed the first round. I have found this only really happens on fully loaded magazines, where the magazine spring is pushing *really* hard, causing the round to tip upwards more quickly when it slides out of the lips. Drop-in Glock mag extensions seem to mitigate the issue, since the spring force is effectively reduced.
I enjoy your videos and find myself rewatching quite a few of them. That magazine drop was so funny. Thank you for the laugh while also educating and entertaining us. Damn you’re a fine shot! Incredible skill!
You had me at 0:07. :D I have a vector very similar to the one you shot. I think the only differences are that yours has a wrist brace and mine has a Pic rail hand grip up front to address the grip issue you mentioned. It's a lot of fun to shoot and I think it would be a pretty nice CQB gun and a much better replacement for the M3 than the M4 was. I actually ended up deciding that with a laser activated with a button on the rail mounted handle,, it makes a great home defense gun, especially with subsonic ammo to limit penetration issues. No need for a sight for that purpose, especially when you have the laser. It hugs tight to your body, so it's hard for someone to grab, and it takes the same mags as my G21 nightstand gun. And of course, if I wanted a light too, I can mount one right up top.
This is the first notification I have gotten from you in a really long time. Hope your eye issue has been resolved to your satisfaction. And my Granddaughter says she likes your fangs. That made me look closer, yup, nice fangs.
Hmm got the bell toggled on but no notification. Luckily you uploaded right when I was sitting down to watch some videos hahaha man the vector is such an amazing gun I wish I could shoot one as well one day :)
Great video and review, Kirsten. I am subscribed, but I had the bell notification set as personalized, so I didn't get a notification (I've remedied that). The video came up as a suggested video, so that's how I saw it. Glad you're at it again.
I put up a video criticizing the vector and had reps from the company pestering me for months. Finally took it down just because it 'wasn't the hill I wanted to die on'. So be prepared Kirsten (and good to see a new video!!!) :)
@John Jenkins I didn't really, I left if up for several years, but now they have the gen 2, and mine was based on the gen 1, so I kept getting questions, and I took it down just because it got annoying, nothing to do with kriss. :)
I bought my Kriss Vector 45 acp 1st Gen when it first came out. I had no problems with FF or FE that everyone claimed to have. The reason is because I reversed the Glock mag springs which solved those issues. I still have mine and shooting 1 inch groupings at 150 yards all day long. The only problem is that I believe the anti recoil system was designed for Full Auto purpose to prevent muzzle rise and it defeats the purpose since not eveyone can use FA.
Always awesome to see a video from you Kirsten 😁. I can’t say I’ve ever gotten my hands on one. I’d consider giving the 10 mm version a try. That’s one of my favorite rounds but it’s definitely a juicy round to shoot from a handgun

there is an after market Double Tap trigger and you can run a longer screw above the trigger and it takes up the slack in the stock trigger so you essentially change it from a 2 stage to a single stage trigger
Occasionally it might fall out, but I love that you put it back in........ this just boils down to training and practice repetition to know the firearm.
Didn't get notified when it came out... had to search for you thinking that I had been unsubscribed... I had not... I've not seen any notifications from your channel for months. Rim on a 556 is the same as a 9mm. Double barrel rifle 556 and 9mm. Change battery of bolt from 556 to 9mm then back to 556. Pencil barrels. top feed the 556.
I'm going to say the most said thing you've heard or read in this case.... YOU"RE GORGEOUS!!!! My dream girl for sure, someone who knows her way around a firearm and loves to shoot...
I've shot one of these a couple times, so I'll just share my thoughts on it as well, in case anybody out there wants another opinion for whatever reason. The one I used was a semi-auto in .45 ACP. First note, those Glock mags with the extended bodies are a pain to load. The single-feed style of a handgun mag is not nearly as easy to load up at these higher round counts as a double-feed magazine like the AR-15's. Recoil was very manageable, and I really appreciate that this platform gave some love to the .45. The controls... the controls on this thing are what really make me lose interest in it. It's not just the mag release, though Kirsten did a really entertaining job of showing the issue with that! I also don't love the safety, and the controls for the bolt hold-open/catch aren't much better. In fact, you can get pinched by those if you're hand is in the wrong spot at the wrong time. The charging handle is about the only control on this thing I find to be placed in an ideal location. It's a good enough system, but the layout really makes me thing that things just ended up where it was the easiest to place them. It's also worth noting that this is a pretty large weapon for how short your barrel length is. You're gaining little, if anything, over a handgun in that sense. It's going to be more accurate for most people, since there are more points of contact, but that doesn't change the fact that in terms of firepower, this is a very, very big handgun. For my money, there are other things I would rather own. I should repeat that my experience is limited to a semi-auto gun, so my assessment was based on that, and general civilian ownership. If we were to discuss the merits of a full-auto version, that would be a pretty different story. I still feel that the control layout would be an issue, but I would be far more forgiving of its size in relation to its caliber and barrel length.
Had early carbine, had known issues feeding from glock magazines, KRISS didn't respond, as said in the video, no advantage at the rate you fire at a public range, had the mag drop issue, design came from a pistol called the piranha
I've only ever shot the Kriss as a full auto subgun and the issues are just compounded. First, I really find the positioning of the safety to be slightly awkward in the first place, then you have a separate full/semi selector that cannot be accessed without breaking your grip to do so...just bad design! As for the recoil mitigation aspect I've been shooting full auto subguns and rifles for decades and it was difficult for me to get a sense that it was any more comfortable to shoot than any other subgun I've shot. Maybe it's more effective if you have less trigger time on full auto firearms, once the proper stance and grip to control recoil and muzzle rise is second nature to you I don't think the Super V system really makes a significant difference. For me the awkward controls and bulky contours of the Kriss were more of a negative than the recoil mitigation was a positive.
Oops. I think I broke a world record. 7 shots in less than 1 second w/AR. 😅 lol
Anyway, what's your fav gun to run in video games?

So it might not be *ideal* for a leftie since it doesn't have true ambi controls, but I imagine it'd be just "fine."
Overall, I don't think the Vector in semi-auto does anything a more traditional, similarly-priced system can't do better, except perhaps if you are doing a lot of rapid fire and sticking with iron sights, in which case the lack of muzzle climb is a big deal.
In semi-auto it's a neat range toy that does some things differently. But wouldn't be a great choice for competition, nor as your first/only PCC unless you just love the weirdness.
Two other notes about the 10mm:
(1) shooting full house 10mm loads causes the cases to be severely dented on the brass deflector, so much so that the case can't be reloaded, at least without prying the crescent-moon shaped case mouth back open.
Closer and closer to the Space Marines bolter!
@Grimace427 thatd be neat af
As I recall bolters basically fired 40mm HEDP rounds, an explosive projectile made to pen armor.
Meh. Red wunz go fasta! Waaaaaauuuuugh!
(I'm actually more of an IG fanboy, but anyway...)
@Grimace427Hahahahaha! The internet would explode, or we would!! 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
@@xxxlonewolf49 .75 caliber I believe. Don't know if that works out to 40mm, but yes they are HEAP rnds! 😁😁👍👍
I enjoy your videos and find myself rewatching quite a few of them. That magazine drop was so funny. Thank you for the laugh while also educating and entertaining us. Damn you’re a fine shot! Incredible skill!
There my gal!! Great to see you back and enjoying the freedom!! Spread those freedom seeds so others can see how much fun it is!
You had me at 0:07. :D
I have a vector very similar to the one you shot.
Glad to see you back doing what you love and sharing it with all of us that love it too.
This is the first notification I have gotten from you in a really long time.
Hope your eye issue has been resolved to your satisfaction. And my Granddaughter says she likes your fangs. That made me look closer, yup, nice fangs.
We come for the reviews but stay for Kirsten's technical terminology. This" weird looking" part. LOL
"It's real funky looking..."
That smile when you were shooting... I know that smile!! I love that feeling. Thank you for sharing!!!
Hmm got the bell toggled on but no notification. Luckily you uploaded right when I was sitting down to watch some videos hahaha man the vector is such an amazing gun I wish I could shoot one as well one day :)
Same here. It has a scary gun in it, so RUclips has to ghost shadow the algorithm.
Hey Kirsten, so good to see you back.
So cute, and such a great representative for the shooting community.
Awesome video, thank you for showing the magazine drop out, not editing it makes your videos 100% legit, thanks
IMHO, for a combat weapon, the vector platform it’s only worth the additional weight and bulk if it is full-auto.
Yes, it's a, "Submachine gun," not a deer rifle.
💯
@@MADDLADO1 smg and machine pistol are just ar with pistol bullet (meanwhile carbines try so hard to be one oh these twos :p)
“Now, I’ll show you that magazine release design flaw agai…ahh, crap”
One day I WILL own one of these(in 10mm), I've loved it ever since I first read about it, way before it was in any video games.
"Not allowed to have freedom"...Love it, couldn't agree more!
It's nice to see you again young lady..
God bless you and your loved ones
Great video and review, Kirsten. I am subscribed, but I had the bell notification set as personalized, so I didn't get a notification (I've remedied that). The video came up as a suggested video, so that's how I saw it. Glad you're at it again.
I put up a video criticizing the vector and had reps from the company pestering me for months. Finally took it down just because it 'wasn't the hill I wanted to die on'. So be prepared Kirsten (and good to see a new video!!!) :)
Not scared.
@@KirstenJoyWeiss Oh I have no doubt!
@John Jenkins I didn't really, I left if up for several years, but now they have the gen 2, and mine was based on the gen 1, so I kept getting questions, and I took it down just because it got annoying, nothing to do with kriss. :)
@@KirstenJoyWeiss do a video on the VZ 58
You are by far the most thoughtful of people on RUclips. I hope things are going well for you ❤️
So good to see you!!!
So glad to see you back. Your videos are always fun and informative. I'm hoping you will be making them regularly again.
Hey Kirsten, good to see you again, I hope you are doing well and your eyes are getting better.
Two N’s!
What happened to her eyes? Sorry been out of the loop I guess.
Kirsten be like "I am pretty and I have a pretty gun"
And there's nothing wrong with any of that.
you can put a doubletap trigger in it, and you can use a longer trigger screw to adjust the trigger for enhanced performance
Such a pleasure to watch someone shoot while still being easy on the eyes.
yeah, it is a cool-looking and stylish gun huh?
Glad youre healing well, keep posting tgese great videos!
So glad to see another vid from you, was starting to worry that you were another casualty of all the current goings on.
Even though I am subscribed and clicked the bell, I didn't get a notification of recent videos. Thankfully, they popped up in the sidebar.
awesome review !!
Always awesome to see a video from you Kirsten 😁. I can’t say I’ve ever gotten my hands on one. I’d consider giving the 10 mm version a try. That’s one of my favorite rounds but it’s definitely a juicy round to shoot from a handgun
especially if there's the remnant of civilization (that's post-nuclear-apocalypse) around you
Welcome back!!!!! You have definitely been missed!!! Also love the blooper you left in. ❤❤
Kirsten: "we got a Kriss Vector to look at".
Me: That's not all I look at.
Wait...There was gun in this vid?
yup.
"now lets put that back in again"

". . . because we're not allowed to have . . . freedom."
Best, smartest, most accurate statement I've heard in a very long time! Well said!
Great to see you are back! 💪😉👍
You should make videos more often. You bring great content 👏
I can't understand how this channel hasn't all the subscribers that follow Brandon, Matt and Donut???
The presentation is top notch 😏
Technical details are swiftly presented without to much dialog.
Aaand!!
Bloopers integrated in the presentation as they fell, instead of put in the end credits.
Awesome video and a twenty out of 10 star rating 🤘🤣🤙
Hands down my favorite gUnTuber 😉
“Let me demonstrate a critical design fla…ahh, crap”
there is an after market Double Tap trigger and you can run a longer screw above the trigger and it takes up the slack in the stock trigger so you essentially change it from a 2 stage to a single stage trigger
Got me with "Gangsta Lean", Subbed.
Didn’t edit out a blooper- what a genuine person !
This is when pure beauty and brains gets crossed with gun porn and skill, it doesn’t get any better!! Joy you are truly awesome!
Occasionally it might fall out, but I love that you put it back in........ this just boils down to training and practice repetition to know the firearm.
Ahhhh yes, just remember the 3 Gs.

2 - Guns
3 - Going to jail for watching this in California.
That pose at 4:48 should be featured COD. They could make a killing on a Draw.
Didn't get notified when it came out... had to search for you thinking that I had been unsubscribed... I had not... I've not seen any notifications from your channel for months. Now I'm just actively searching for you to make sure I get to watch your wonderful vids. Thanks for helping to remind us about how our freedom should be, not how lefties want it to be.
Thank you, very informative I always enjoy the interesting content you provide
My wife knows about my love for you and I don't even care.
in division2 it's awesome with the laser pulse on heartbreaker... and it never jams in division 2... unless the game crashes.. which happens quite often ... hmmmm
That's one beautiful war machine right there, the gun looks pretty cool too. 👍
Jaw dropping, such beautiful.

Hallelujah! A new Joy of Shooting video! Nice to see you back!
Love the intro. That final shot is killer. The difference with recoil between those guns was clear as day. Great to see your new vid, keep being free.
Kirsten we miss you hope all is well. Thank you for taking your time to teach us such valuable info. God bless you and I pray you great health.
Someone has been working on her squats at the gym. It's working! Awesome video. We've missed you!
1:50 as I understand it rises when the barrel is higher than the butt. In case of vector barrel is lower
Correct! And as a result, the vector has its sights well above the barrel also.
So were you been girl? Good to see you again. Now next time you hit the mag release prematurely just remember that yes you can even make that look good and full of grace.
Oh yes the Kriss Vector fires 45 ACP regular pistol rounds how sweet is that that's one of my favorite submachine gun next to the h k MP5 and the P90 when it comes to rifles my favorite rifles are the AR-15 the M16 the AK-47 stg-44 the Austrian Steyr AUG the German 36C the SCAR-H and the ACR
And there you go. A woman does not have to be dressed seductively Or at least in an unladylike like manner to be beautiful and truly ladylike. Such a class act.
Well said. This woman is naturally beautiful and god bless her she’s smart and funny and strong too.
Unlike the Girls with guns channel
Rim on a 556 is the same as a 9mm. Double barrel rifle 556 and 9mm. Change battery of bolt from 556 to 9mm then back to 556. Pencil barrels. top feed the 556.
The awesome shooting lady is back.
Excellent review Jefe, I appreciate hearing your perspective.
I shot a .45 acp Kriss once at a pile of plywood in a gunshop's backroom. All shots point of aim. That was an amazing experience.
One handed gangster style ❤ Hope your doing ok . Health eyes.👀. 🌹🇺🇸
Early L85A1s (SA80s) had a similar issue with the Mag Release button, easy fix with a little guard around it.
