Congrats on the new bike, it’s a Badass!🥳 Surprised to see you let the R6 go after all the time & work you put into it. By watching your vids, you sure helped me get my 2019 R6 tuned & set up properly. From the Bauce ECU tune, to a full Yoshi exhaust with the servo delete & block off plates. It runs TIGHT💯🔥🦾 So thanks for sharing your R6 build all the way🙏🏽
pretty sure new sport bikes have to have the first 300mile oil change before they remove that. the first 300 miles the oil gets the most metal shavings in it while the engine is breaking in, so they want you to do a 1st service before you run the bike harder. try not to throttle over 7k till then
I love mine I just picked one up as well and the clutch cable failed about 20 miles from the dealership. I was so bummed but other than that it’s an excellent bike! Enjoy!
For me it has been the clutch lever after 100 km that went our of its position, then called the assistance, fully fixed it and then lever replaced by Aprilia
Did a bit of research into this issue, a lower octane fuel could have triggered the engine knocking sensor and caused the bikes ECU to put it into limp mode. This is typically caused by dealers filling your tank with the cheapest fuel they can get their hands on during delivery. I would check with the dealer what octane they put in at the time of delivery. I put Euro super98 in my RS660 all the time ... so far not a single issue with the bike during the run in period other than a squeaky rear brake, she runs and handles like a gem, hope this helps, good luck :)
Got 33 more miles until mine is broken in. Already got fluids & filter for service. Just gonna change myself. Bought 22' as well. Same color. Will follow you on your rsv4 journey.
Check EVERYTHING! The dealership I bought my Aprilia from forgot to tighten my battery terminals on my rs660 which caused it to do the same thing. They also forgot to fill the coolant reservoir
Aprilia has the worst dealer network out of all the brands in America. Maybe only KTM is worse. In Europe, owners have much better experiences. Aprilia doesn't prioritize the NA market. It's the main thing that turns me off from buying one.
So happy for you! What a fantastic bike, can't wait to see what you do with it. It already looks awesome stock. 217bhp, you're gonna have some fun with that!
I hear too many bad stories about Aprilia's breaking down and then they won't fix them under warranty. I'd like to own one but having a bike that's unreliable ruins the experience imo
Hey Petro, did you ever heard about bike break-in period? I am a owner of Aprilia Tuono V4 2022 and break-in period is about 1000km (~620 miles). Within this period do not cross over 7k RPM! Stay relax on throttle ... hope you help, see you on the next video
Man i love this superbike, i met you once before I have the RS660 and cant wait to upgrade to the RSV4. I cant wait to see what you do with yours stay save brother
@@PetroHead at GP one morning we were all supposed to go on a group ride but you had other things to do instead of riding all day on the back roads at the time I just got my RS660 maybe one day I’ll see the RSV4 In person instead of just the showroom hahahaha
For a start, you were in 2nd gear at 11K revs at 90mph. You shouldn't go over 6K for the first 600 miles until the first service. I think the bike has detected that and shown you the warning.
I wish I could relive the day I picked up my brand new RSV4RR every single day! Such a magical feeling looking at that thing sitting in the show room looking so beautiful and knowing that that bike is 100% mine! Sorry for the issues you had (can really sour that magical feeling) but luckily mine has been rock solid for 3 years and 9k miles of flawless riding. Well, I did have a weird throttle issue (wouldn’t give me full power at full throttle) but luckily that was just a software issue; reflashed the ecu and it was fine again. Overall such a great sport bike!
Might need a visit to the dealer to get the diagnostic codes checked. It's a brand new bike. You could also hook up an OBD Bluetooth reader to the diagnostic port and use an OBD app to pull error codes.
Yeah check the battery terminals and make sure its tight and not touching stuff. Also don't put any pressure or rest you hand on the throttle when starting the bike since it causes the throttle sensor to think the position is off.
FYI, The issue is with Exup Valve actuator. It might happen again if it can't keep up with rapid acceleration. Aftermarket exhaust will eliminate the issue permanently.
@@PetroHead Hopefully ECU update will resolve the issue, but if it didn't you can do what we did. I'm surprised they didn't update the ECU while they were getting the bike ready for you. In my case and a friend of mine, it was happening under rapid acceleration. We had two options, either have the exup valve cable calibrated perfectly or have it removed. I upgraded mine with Akra exhaust but my friend kept the OEM exhaust but bypassed the exup valve. Ride safe 👍🍻
@@PetroHead The current code that is showing for software under service is 102. They did an ECU update before I left the dealer, and under rapid acceleration I was experiencing the same issue you are having knowing there was no new update was available. For what I have been told, the new software update is about software calculation algorithm. You should have it done if they haven't done it but you may or may not experience the issue again. You can also have them to re-calibrate the exup valve cable. But in my case and my friend, the ECU was not the reason.
I just bought a 2022 RSV4 factory and I’m having the same issue as you, my bike is at the dealer now for a second time over this. I’m not sure what is happening but apparently this is widespread issue on the 2022 bikes and not just the RSV4. Hopefully they get them sorted out.
Hi PetroHead, I have a question and I need your help, I have a 21 Tuono V4 non factory that at 1500 miles it starter to leak oil, took it to the dealer and they said it was the side cases, got them replaced under warranty, then got the bike and its leaking again, so I took it back and I told them after my research online to check the head/spark plugs gaskets, sure enough they ended up replacing them after 3 months of waiting for parts, just got the bike back and only 100 miles after they fixed it for the second time, its leaking again, contacted Aprilia directly and I told them I want a new bike or my money back, they want me to take it back to my local dealer so they can check it again, long story short, I would like to take it to GP motorcycles because I would like to get this replaced I think its a lemon, any advise I would appreciated, I am frustrated and I'm tired of waiting for parts for them not to fix the issue. Bike has always been services at my local dealer even the first service.

@@PetroHead DAMN!!! You said it all with gusto as well!! A friend of mine just picked up a used 2022 Tuono V4 Factory 1100. It's a beautiful bike for sure, and the sound of that exhaust is orgasmic. Yep under 6K revs until the first service at 600 miles. He has done 11K revs 90mph in second gear....
Who the hell is going to buy a new 20 thousand dollar aprilia rsv4 that redlines at 15k and keep it under 7k? That takes discipline in multiple ways.
