@@andrewkerns6777 the video is right there, you can see how it looks. Does that look ten years from finished? Didn’t think so. If you’re gonna hate, do it by yourself. It’s much nicer around here if we talk about how excited we are for the game, instead of repeating the same troll joke over and over.

I like the heavier realistic weight on the ragdoll physics when you bail. There’s more reliance on animations because when you bailed in Skate 3 the ragdolls looked kinda funky.
skate 3 it's horrible skate one is the best for me actually

@@BaggyPop Maybe I expressed myself wrong. What I meant was this video looks cool and all, but some stuff they say to be working on can be dropped before release because of deadlines, budget or whatever, maybe some functions aren't polished enough. Happens pretty often so I grew cautious. There are DLCs and patches afterwards that's true, but I'll believe what I see once the game is out

i like how style with landing is more pronounced, makes it look better than the robotic landings of previous skate's. also switch looks more like switch and instead of simply flipping the character and their moves. 🙌👍🤝
Can't wait! But they really need to work on the legs mechanics for spins without grabs. Legs should suck up more and be able to bone independently for flair. the no grab flat spins still look stiff and unreallistic... anyways, looking forward to it
yeah it looks like they’re standing up in midair but there should be more of a crouching motion
The hang time and body pivot physics are giving THPS vibes.. Hopefully they tone that down a bit.

yeaaa, hopefully they can put a good bit of licensed merch in the game that you can just earn thru playing and then just do the micro transactions for like live time real world skate culture related cosmetics/DLCs and whatnot
They confirmed it will only be cosmetics so there is a Free full game at it's core. Yes i don't want to pay just for some socks in a game, i would rather unlock them through playing but it's the World we live in
Reality is, would you rather it get constant updates and support or would you rather they release a medium baked product and ship it for 60-100 bucks?

@@Squant There is no flaw in my logic as I actually know how it works. Their publisher expects a certain threshold of return based on the amount of investment made. They are required by a legally binding contract to ensure this to the best of their ability. With the amount of money that has gone into this game the only way to ensure this cost/return ratio is high enough those are the two options.
Sorry if that bothers anyone but that's the reality.
The main reason I wanted an Xbox 360 back in middle school was for Skate 2 and all these years later I still love this franchise so much, can't wait for this!

3:24 Looks like they're adding some constraints to the ragdoll physics. I think this would be better than full fall animations and MUCH better than full ragdoll.

I like how flip tricks look more slowed down and realistic. Also the flip tricks catches look pretty good.

It would be nice if the skater felt like he weighed something. Skate 3 felt like the board was heavier than the skater. Also I gotta point out that they showed a close up of the guy power sliding on cobblestone… ima still play the f$&@ outta it regardless…
It's only in pre pre alpha this isn't even the beta version sais in the corner of the screen. Very early stage of development it's gonna be completely different by the time it's released

I remember working on the big black challenge for three days on the first skate , and once i got it i could do the trick when i wanted to , im hoping the new game makes some of these challenges so technical that you have to be good to land them . At least on a couple that only the best of the best would even attempt.
I don’t like the aesthetic of it. Skate 1 was special because of how much of a SIM it was all the way down to it even having a more “realistic” visual style compared to the Tony Hawk games. This however looks like it’s adopting the Tony Hawk look a bit.
This has fortnite zoomer appeal written all over it… just imagine the songs that will be on the soundtrack 🤢

I imagine they’ll polish the graphics a little more, and everything looks amazing for Pre-Pre alpha. Can’t wait for 2025, two great games coming.

why does the gameplay feel like session rather than skate? The player seems so, I don't know how to put it. Floaty ?
To be honest im still not impressed, and still not confident. I know its still pre pre alpha and a lot can change.. but for now it looks like Riders Republic.. too stiff, especially in the spinning mechanics.
Still, this is still in the works and i’ll happily wait for this amazing franchise

I have always loved the Skate series, I just hope out of everything for the character’s movements that they make it as realistic as Skater XL or better because once I played Skater XL, it felt WAY more natural. I know this is still in the works but as of right now, I don’t like how the character stomps down on the board immediately. I hope they do make this way more fluid because otherwise it will kind of feel like the board sticks to you as a magnet right before you land like Tony Hawk games. I’m not talking about anything else for the game because so far I really do love what I see. I’m only talking about the character’s movement for landing a trick and to some it may be small but if you see the difference with another game, then it’s hard NOT to care about this as it is an essential part of being a skateboarder in real life for how clean we land a trick. I also hope winding up a spin looks realistic too. I miss the Skate games for sure, I just hope on this one, they have more realism than Skater XL. Honestly for realism, my favorite one out of the series is the first game hands down
it's already better and smoother than Skate 3, I genuinely cannot wait to see the finished results, especially the finished graphics

Can we get some super slick, fast, on the fly movement? Like the first 2 Tony Hawk games? And how about a point system again? Feels like it's just more fun with the points adding up...
i cant wait until they make the city look more realistic as long as the clothes and stuff. One thing about skate three that worked the most was the fact that the city looked pretty realistic and the scars and bruises you got from not landing a trick. Skate 3 will forever be timeless as a skate game but this looks super promising.
p.s. as a skater. them including new trick selections that were previously unavailable to do correctly is so fucking cool.
The fact they’ve been in development since 2020 is crazy. Definitely putting time into it and omg I can’t wait. EA has listened to the fans. I really feel like this won’t disappoint.
I really hope the graphics when the game is released are going to be realistic rather than Fortnite graphics. *fingers crossed*

So glad i was the one who spammed skate 3 during the playstation new game reveal event and they were forced to have skate 3 community come back . You could feel how sony must have urgently contacted them for an immediate update on the announcement of skate 3 actually being a thing.
Dont know when it will be, but I'm excited to have the feeling of playing a skate game for the first time again
Skate co. was always known for their sense of humor. Pre-pre-alpha is just them telling us that they're working on the game currently as we speak.

My problem with skate now is how skater XL had the 2 stick system......Its just better. I don't think the 1 stick is going to scratch that itch for me now.

Tbh I don’t think many real skaters will play this. We have session with dual stick controls and going back to flick it controls is off putting. I tried skate 3 again and ngl it was painful after session. People will definitely buy this but weather they’ll stay on it or move on is a different story. Speaking of story, if this game had a story even remotely close to skate 2 it will 100% save the game. As good as session is, a story line would be perfect
i dont like that the tricks are all still done on 1 joystick. I was hoping for SkaterXL style where each joystick controls a foot

Can somebody figure out if NPCs will be in the game populating the city and making it feel alive? We should be able to punch them as well as other skaters like Skate 3. Nobody is addressing this feature.

@@joshleo4747 i havnt seen much footage about skate 4 but with more than 10k hours on skate 3 i dont see what REAL trick they could add . i hope they focus more on how the player will do/land them tricks . i would mix skate 2 with skate XL mechanic with all the trick from skate3 in a new big A open world .. make sur everything is 4k 120fps and wrap it up . but its gonna be free so they gonna miss on some stuff for sur and add them later so we can buy them via micro transaction ..

Honestly, this game scares me. All these wacky colors, this city that looks like it came straight out of Ratchet and Clank, nope. I think I’m done with skateboarding games and will take my board out again, even at 42 years old.

I hope they add high skill speed glitches , hard to perform speed glitches , the harder the controlls to do a glitch the faster the glitch should work :)
