    This is by far the best vid I’ve seen explaining the differences between filters. Thanks for posting easy side-by-side comparisons. (This was literally the first vid I found comparing filters that didn’t have a cringy host talking about coffee and themselves before finally showing a bunch of bad examples.)

    I love that no one talked, it was simple music and the comparison was so perfect! Seriously the best. Can you make one comparing a Sony and Canon? Can you also make a video showing what gear you use?

    I think I find the 1/8 a little more versatile, as less of an effect filter. Both very nice

  • @amorasaki

    Really neat. I love how the pro mist keeps the black detail and contrast while still managing to round out the lighting and soften details. The Blue cast it gives may not always be ideal, and it seemed more apparent in strongly side or back lit scenes.
    The cinebloom had a very nice ability to spread the light further from sources, and a more neutral color cast, but losing deep blacks and sometimes excessive bloom are its drawbacks. Both look like good tools for different ideas and artists. Personally I lean more towards the pro mist, but probably because I already have the excessively strong cinebloom 20%.

    mi opinion is... overall tiffen is better but in daylight cineblomm 10% could be a great option and more affordable.

      Thanks man! I got both of them, the pro mist doesn’t lift the blacks as much as the Moment. The moment is good if the pro mist 1/4 is too strong and 1/8 „not enough“, kind of in between :) also the orange color cast is really cool in some situations

    Always difficult to make a comparison, if using the exact same grading on all, you can grade to benefit one over the other. And if not, and separately graded, than it's a whole other bag of things and bits :S

    I think the cinebloom behaves more like a 1/4 mist

    • @szenenschmiede
      @szenenschmiede  3 года назад +9

      The 10% doesn’t let the highlights bloom as much as the 1/4 mist, but other than that, I agree. It’s kind of in between a 1/4 and 1/8, but with the sharpness and contrast reduction of a 1/4. thanks for watching!

    • @szenenschmiede
      @szenenschmiede  7 месяцев назад

      Thats right. The time I made this video the 5% wasn‘t available yet. Also, the 10% seems to sit in the middle between 1/8-1/4. This is interesting for people that feel like a 1/4 is already too strong.

    cinebloom is obnxious to look at, it's just an irreversible bloom that might as well be done in post
    pro mist 1/8 is superior in every way imaginable

    • @MattJett
      @MattJett 3 года назад +3

      I'm not sure I understand what you mean by, "irreversible" bloom? Neither of these blooms from the BPM or Cinebloom's blooms are reversible in post. Can you help me understand?

    • @twocupsstudio
      @twocupsstudio Год назад

      @@MattJett since highlights are irreversible, can we use no filter and achieve same results in post as BPM gives? scary to find that you cannot reverse the highlights glow if you do not like. in post perhaps glow can be achieved?
