I visited Kadikoy as a side trip to Istanbul last August after seeing it recommended on the internet. Fell in love with this bustling neighbourhood. So much to see and do. Of the few locals I was able to interact with a little bit (unfortunately for me I found not too many people could speak English) everybody was absolutely super friendly and charming. Am now learning Turkish with Duolingo and wish to return again at the end of this summer and bring some friends along to share this gem of the world!
Thank you once again Bery. Since I've lived and studied in Turkey back in the early 90s, your videos are a great source of seeing how the life and country has changed over the years. I plan to visit again soon and hope to get to meet you and discuss the changes, the food and culture. Cheers.
@@BeryIstanbulTips For one the political ideology seems to have changed a lot from a very secular and open society to somewhat constrained and religiously inclined one. There has been a lot of development though and lot more high rise buildings which are great for providing housing and economic stimulation but it does take away the character and charm of this great city. I also see a lot of foreign nationals now especially Arabs and Africans. Thankfully the food still remains great!! :-D :-D :-D
I lived in Moda and Uskudar when I was growing up. Pendik too. My paternal grandparents had a large property between the seashore (Marmara Denizi) and the railroad at the back of the property. I went to the Pendik Ilkokulu for Grade 1. Immigrated to Canada in 1962.
Excellent Videography by Team Bery Istanbul Tips. Very informative content delivered in a best possible way. Your videos will certainly help many visitors including me. Thanks for creating such a useful videos. Stay Blessed
Kadıköy is my favourite area of Istanbul, no contest. The nearby area surrounding Baghdad Avenue/Bağdat Caddesi is also worth a visit, as you mentioned. Oh, I miss Istanbul so much. The European side is cool and everything, but the Asian side is definitely more trendy and modern, much more liberal minded IMO.
Mine too! Kadikoy has it all, I love this area 😍 And just as you said, the European side is also nice and most of the major monuments are there but in terms of tranquility and many other things, I also prefer the Asian side, at this point I do not see myself living in the European side, is much more chaotic 😅
Hay bery, watched all your vlogs as coming in mid March 2022 for one week. Just curious which mic is you using. Looks like wireless. Thanks for your efforts.
Wonderful Video as Always Bery👌. I am hoping to get to Istanbul in the next few weeks & then on to Bodrum. I have worked almost non stop since the start of this Pandemic ( I'm a paramedic), So I Really need some time away. I Wish you A Very Happy New Year 2022.🥳🎊🎆💐.
You’ve been taking care of everybody during these difficult months, you deserve some time off. Thank you for your great effort, Levina! ❤️ Turkey is waiting for you 🇹🇷
Thanks for uploading wonderful informative videos of Istanbul. We are planning to visit Istanbul in March. Do you know if we book via Airbnb is good and safe?
Hi! Glad to know our content is helpful 🙏 It is safe, just make sure to read the comments of other customers so that you can see if the airbnb is in a good and safe area.
Hi Bery, Thank you for making these great informational videos. Question for you, if I need to spend 24 hours in Kadikoy, which hotel or which neighborhood you recommend? I wish to visit the Asian Side and have limited time, want to make sure that I get maximum out of it. Will appreciate your help on this.
In case you have no idea what’s my channel about, here we love introducing less known places that worth a visit. At least in my case, I’m so tired of seeing the same places over and over again shown on 99.9% of videos (Sultanahmet/Taksim). So people can know that when it comes to Istanbul, then it is not just only Taksim or Sultanahmet, when it comes to Turkiye, then it is not only Istanbul or Cappadocia, that’s why we are visiting less known cities among foreigners so they can explore the real beauty of the whole country 😉 sorry, but that’s the STAMP of our channel 🙌
Istanbul seems boring to me. I’ve been here for 1 month and all there seems to do is hang out at tea shops and smoke cigarettes while drinking tea. Just another large busy metropolis, nothing special.
Hello, how long is daylight in early july and is the nightlife happening there? My flight arrive at 1800 and will go here via havabus. Wondering if it worth the night or should i go straight to taksim squate
Thank you for this video. I'll be in Istanbul in 2 weeks time and have been watching your videos to plan and prepare. What kind of clothes would you recommend for this weather mid January?
just returned from 2 weeks in Kadikoy i found it to be really dirty smelly place. Beggars on every corner people walking about sniffing glue its not a nice place for families even when we were in restaurants/cafes kids were coming in begging for food and money
Dear Bery thank you so much for your amazing videos every time! We have known Istanbul through images like a local thanks to you! I would like to ask you a question as I am going to visit Istanbul next weeks. Do you know if Kadikoy Tuesday Market also happen on Fridays? Thanks for your time!
Moda severim! I’ve been having a holiday in Moda 20 times now and seeing this video made me realize how much I miss it. The christmas decoration of Şekerci Erol made me cry. They always decorate very special. Awesome video. I wonder if Haydarpaşa Garı will ever be completely restored. It’s been in restauration for 4 years now 😂 I hope, when I’m old and retired here in Germany I can work on Kadıköy market. This is the most amazing street with lots of delicious stuff and great energy ❤️

As a local, Kadiköy, Moda and Karaköy are the go-to places for most locals. Enjoy our city.

What do thing? The city has changed a lot ever since? I really wonder what Istanbul looked like back then 😍

Hopefully I reach Turkiye before I die

What price for ferry and can we use Istanbul card please ?
Any recommended hotel in Kadikoy??
When you make a Ümraniye special? :D
Kadıköy is the most modern and comfortable district of Istanbul, and it is the home of Turkey's biggest club Fenerbahçe.
you can see people wearing yellow and navy blue everywhere

Ofc, is Türkiye.

Is Istikal Street on the Europe or Asia side?
European side.
Please do a video about Pendik
If you want Kadıköy to stay beautiful, you should stop introducing it. Kadıköy is beautiful because it is native

If you say so 😅
antalya best place to live
god it's so busy though! i think moda is nicer but i've been told to go to kadikoy for music (cds, albums).
Watching videos, I've noticed that the dogs in Istanbul don't seem to get the same caring treatment as the cats do. Is there a reason for this?
Thank you , nice tips
Thank you dear Bery💙🙏 your video always nice and helpfull for the tourist like me. Hopefully we can meet if i visit Istanbul again..
Kadikoy is so fun at night!! So lively, everywhere you turn
