    • @PBKreviews

      Thanks. I didn't remove the battery because as mentioned in the video, the adhesive was pulling the center of the screen inward and I didn't want to break the screen or risk cracking the screen itself. Some devices I get aren't mine so there is only so much I can do with them. If I see I can take the screen off without damaging them, then I will. But when I see there is a risk of breaking it and the phone doesn't directly belong to me, then at times I can't do it. Hope this explains it

    So far, so good. You've explained everything well, but I don't know what the thin cable on the outside right is, the one that goes from the speaker to the mainboard. And what is the box under the front camera? Also, the fingerprint sensor was not shown, which I'm currently having an issue with. The fingerprint sensor works intermittently. For example, it loads to a certain percentage and then stops and hangs there. Additionally, I often get a message saying I should make sure the sensor is not dirty or wet. Do you have an explanation for this? Thanks in advance.

    You could use isopropyl alcohol for removing the battery, you would need to inyect the alcohol in the gap between the battery and the mainframe and let the alcohol act for a few minutes, there's a special nozzle that's used for that but i don't know how its called or where to get it, but ifixit has been using it lately

    Perfect one to ask this question: I accidentally shoved the ejector pin into the hole in the bottom of the phone (microphone/speaker opening?) instead of the SIM card tray hole… Do you think that I could have damaged anything (waterproofing, that rectangular component on the USB PCB looking like a crystal, etc.)?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад +1

      Most likely you did not damage it. Its a solid piece (the square/rectangular gold colored piece on the mainboard). Also you will be safe most likely with the water resistance as well, its too small of a hole to worry about.

      There is a metal bracket holding them in place. Once you take the phone and have access to it, you just need to pull up on the metal bracket in the slot where the keys are and pull it out then that should free the buttons to fall into the frame to remove them.

    • @PBKreviews

      There are antenna lines drawn in the frame itself, as well as the plastic cover over the motherboard and speaker housing. Also the sub board has antenna contacts on it including the motherboard which boat touch parts of the frame to connect to the frame antenna. So you would need to make sure both the motherboard and sub board are seated properly in place, and that all cables and connectors are connected and that the plastic motherboard cover and the speaker assembly are both seated and screwed down properly.

      Not too long but ya takes some time and heat to get it off. Usually the Samsung phones that have water resistant adhesive are a bit stronger and tougher to pry off.

    My phone won't charge while using help

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      hmm, have you checked your charging cable and adapter to rule out a defective cable or adapter block? Also back up your phone and data and do a factory reset (which would erase all your data so much sure you back it up) and see if it doesn't fix it. If still no issue, it can be a bad charger port or sub board.

    Even Apple puts easily removable battery pull tabs, what's wrong with you Samsung?

  • @Dariddda
    @Dariddda 4 года назад

    You are not going to damage the screen, just the back copper layer of it. but I think it's actually aluminium is all the way behind the battery like on the Note 10. stupid design.

    • @Dariddda
      @Dariddda 4 года назад

      Yap. I watched another video... only the under display fingerprint reader is exposed, and the rest of the screen is covered with the middle part of the frame.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад

      ya true but the problem was the middle part of the frame was thin enough that was actually pulling it inward as I was pulling they battery and it was in return warping the screen as well. Would probably need to use a bit more time and heat to gently pry it off or use isopropyl alcohol

    I will skip s20 because of glued to display battery.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад

      Its possible its not directly glued to the battery, but the midframe in that section might have either a opening that makes the adhesive attach to the screen and battery or might just be a thin midframe that pulls or warps when prying off the battery.

      @@PBKreviews there is still a huge that that it would transfer heat to display. Right? AMOLEDs pixels got a terrible history of burning down quicker with constant heat dissipation overtime.

    So you pay upards of $1000 for the phone, and yet they put in a cheap circular vibration motor in it. FFS Samsung.

      Its not bad compared to the folding flip phones and such. I honestly think its a fairly simple repair job aside from the battery and screen which would take more time. True that doesn't leave much left haha, but charger port, earpiece and loud speaker should be a fairly simple repair job.
