The Forerunner

John the Baptist is the first one that we hear about in the gospel accounts. What was his importance and role in the biblical account? He was the forerunner.

John knew that he must become lesser so that Jesus may become greater. We also need to become lesser, so that Jesus may become greater. Jesus IS greater. He is greater than our fears, greater than our guilt, greater than our sins.
