VEVOR STAINLESS STEEL DOUBLE BURNER PROPANE GAS FORGE REVIEW, INSTALLATION & USE

- See this excellent quality Vevor propane gas forge I have just got. This forge is made of non welded stainless steel and has twin burners for versatility. I show how it is assembled, coated in refractory cement and then used to blacken one of my tools, giving it a rust protective finish.

Thank you so much for your demonstration. This was my first burner and I was freaked out lighting it. Honestly put it off or a few weeks because I of how unsure I was. Every other time I've used a forge in a class someone had already got it going. With your help in this video I lit and ran it. How loud it was still freaked me out but I did it.
Fantastic piece of kit! Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I just purchased the 3 burner model, and I came to see how the refactory cement should look. I thought mine was a little chunky, but looks just like yours does, so thank you! I'm excited to make a couple knives for some buddies!
To change the subject, I just finished grinding an M2 HSS tool cutter blank into the verticle shear tool from your details. Used it on the headache 1018 steel; works so well I'm surprised no one sells a bit shaped like this. Too easy to make I suppose. Yep, if I can do it, anyone can !! Thanks so much !!
Thanks for your feedback. I'm pleased you like the tool. I never knew about these shear tools until recently. I haven't seen them in any of the old engineers' books either.
Regards Steve
Great demo, Vevor should have sponsored you with a free unit, I think this demo will sell a few units for them. Thanks for answering a lot of questions I previously had. This looks so easy. I don't know why I don't have one just for bluing alone. Cheers Steve and thanks.
I recently purchased an Alaskan Mill from Vevor, to cut the trunk of my deceased cherry tree into 2 inch thick slabs - was very impressed with the quality, and it worked perfectly.
Hi Mike. That's good. They seem to have some nice quality tools on their site. Regards Steve
Thanks Steve. I've been considering a forge for sometime, yet another great video.😁
Hi Steve. Thanks. I sometimes make copies of the Ray Mears Bushcraft Knife. But I haven't done so for some time. I'm just using mine to blacken up my homemade tools at the moment. It is so much quicker and easier to do than using a gas torch. Plus, there's ample room in this one for my larger fixtures. Regards Steve
Amazing quality, good design! Good find!
Hi Bob, Yes, I was really amazed with the quality and design. I reckon I will be using it a lot. Regards Steve
Thanks for the review, I've just bought one of these and although it looks to be well made the instructions are definitely a bit vague, so it's good to learn from your video.
When You have a shed fire, Can you Make a video of That, it will be BANGGOOD 😂😂😂
Very handy, i love that site..
Gday Steve, great review mate

It’s True , the price is very low. Iam just buy it in Germany for 125 € and it’s absolutely impossible to build an own for a lower price.
And now i am tense for my first results 😊
Excellent review Steve. Vevor are a nice company to deal with. Have you ever thought of doing some metal casting? Cheers Nobby
Hi Nobby, Thanks. Yes, they are an excellent company to deal with. I was really pleased when I saw that they had a site in the UK. I only found that out when I got this forge. I'm a bit fed up with getting items from abroad, as it takes so long now.
I was thinking of having a go at metal casting some time, after seeing ade swash's videos on the subject. Regards Steve
I bought a patio gas bottle 13kg and am wondering how to connect it. You didn’t mention this in the video. It says “27mm” - I’m also in the UK. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Google it? Good luck!
Could you put it on a fire brick and turn it vertically and use it to melt metals in a crucible? Cheers Steve another great review. Thanks
I was going a specific one to do that sometime. I'm just looking at the best one to get. I don't rush at getting equipment as I don’t want to get something that I would like to change later. Regards Steve
@@SteveJordan Thanks, I will wait for the video, too hot to be working with smelters at the moment here in UK anyway, lol 😀
I got this forge today from Amazon and the instructions are a little too basic. The only information on the refactoring cement outside of what is printed on the bag is here on youtube. I'm pretty new to blacksmithing and I got this as a starter forge and was frustrated by how the ad and the instructions seem to lie. I haven't put the cement on yet since it doesn't mention having to do that anywhere on the ad or the main website. All the pictures have the white cotton and the bricks. And the guide mentions changing the cotton liner form time to time.
My question is why don't they mention the cement? As well as what happens if you don't put the cement on and just follow the instructions in the book?
Will it get hot enough to forge weld Damascus
Hi Marc, I do not know, really. I've never used forges for Damascus. If you click on the link, there is information on the highest temperature it can reach.
Thank you very much for the response
Gee Steve you must be running out of room with all this machinery mate
Hi Dave, I am getting low on space. I do have another smaller storage shed, though. Regards Steve
The amount of wrong things on this forge is amazing !Wtf is that triangular shape? Round forge swirls flame and improves heating capacity .Round randomly cut holes on a propane burner ? Seriously?.Burners placed 90 ° vertical is worse thing you can do -no swirl and all the heat goes up when not in use and damages the valves.
Perfect example of what not to do.
Rubbish. It works perfectly and is great quality. It does everything I need it to do. I'm really pleased with it. I've had a few different forges, but this one is the best.
@@SteveJordan maybe for your limited hobby needs but for any serious work its far from optimal.
Well, that's what all of the ones on the market are for then, unless, of course, you make your own or spend hundreds of pounds on. I don't need one of those, so this is excellent, for what I do.
@@SteveJordan Its not that expensive to make your own, like the most expensive part is insulation and that depends where you live.Body can be made out of propane gas cylinder or air compressor cylinder/water heater.
Ceramic wool can be expensive ,but other refractory materials like cement can be used as well.
You can make high quality burner out of plumbing parts in a day or two. (even less depending on the type of machines you have).
If you have to go from 0 and buy everything i would say around 600€ for a good DIY forge is achievable price range.
If you want to go professional and have some time ,but if you are going to use it 2 times a year then sure this is product for you.
