Hi there, was wondering if you could help me. Have a 2013 Kia Ceed, same message on the dash, fuses are fine, ignition not coming on so cant plug it in. Have tried plugging in a second hand lock unit with no change. Could you tell me where the smart key module is so I can test the wires. Many thanks.
Thanks a lot for the video. Very useful. I've been locked in the underground garage so no one could could took my car out of it to the service :) I found smart guys who put some chip instead of ESCL so I'm driving currently without it :) I have a question, I've bought a used ESCL to install into my car and of course it didn't work, so does it really need to be neutralised on the donor car before removing because I have doubts that the guys who sold me ESCL they neutralised it there? Thanks for reply in advance and for very useful video!
Yeah, it needs to be neutralized, but I've had a couple of cases, like yours, that the second hand ESCL (for sure not neutralized) worked on my car after reprogramming the keys. So, as far as you have got the ESCL right now, It's worth a shot to try it.
Question my escl bolt status is saying failure, getting power and ground to the escl, it's stating unlocked as feedback which is is but still it's says escl bolt failure, tried escl neutralization it failed, this happened after a guy put the battery pole on incorrectly
Hi there, for Hyundai and KIA, the best source is their technical website. It was available to buy a subscription some years ago, but now you can get access to the website only if you work in a dealership. But the next best choice is GDS (Theirs previous OEM scan tool) which does have all diagrams and workshop manual. You don't need to buy the device, if you can find the software only, it does the job. You can still find it anywhere in Internet for a good price but you need to remember that it covers only up to 2018.
@K-H-diag I don't have a diagnostic tool to do the other steps....the keys seem to be responding to its functions. Except the car won't start.. I changed both fuses under hood and under steering wheel.
