My AZ950 no longer stands up due to the two brittle plastic lugs breaking after only 8 months of light use. Shark refuse to honour the warranty and say it is wear and tear. I used your method of drilling through and used two M4 bolts to secure it. Sorted. Job done. Hoover now clips nice and firmly into the stand-up position. Excellent advice. Many thanks.
This video is great. I very much thank Just Vlad for sharing. It saved me a lot of time diagnosing the infamous "Shark Head Flop" syndrome, widely known by Shark who refuses to acknowledge the design flaw or offer a fix. My experience with Support for my three year old Duoclean UV700 was to be told, like others, that the only solution is a new powerhead at $89.95 plus tax and shipping. Nice going Shark! Truth be told, you may be able to fix it, at least for a while, with a couple of longer screws like I did, without any drilling. As shown in the video at time mark 3:50, the top shell has two plastic posts into which screws secure it to the bottom shell. The 1/2" long black screws used are too short causing the posts to flex and fatigue and eventually break off. But for me, almost half of the post was still there attached to the top shell. I removed the two black security torx screws while holding the shell together tightly (otherwise the broken pieces will turn and the screws will not back out). I then removed both pieces by carefully prying the shell apart far enough to get them out (like in the video). I then replaced the shorter screws with longer ones. I used #8x7/8" Phillips pan-head sheet metal screws. Main thing to check is head diameter and make sure it will fit in the hole. Maybe you could use a 1" but I didn't want to risk poking through the top. How long will it last is anyone's guess. I may add the glue too but I don't use it commercially like Just Vlad. I may eventually have to drill a hole through the top as shown in the video, but for now, works like a charm!
Fax. My front orange roller continues to roll even on high carpet for some reason. Nothing on how to fix that. I think the computer is defective. I also have the flop because the mechanism broke somehow around the base. I don't know how it even happened. Shark problems
I have to say, I’m truly impressed with your generosity and your genuine desire to help people. I sincerely appreciate it. I am curious to know if the front roller was recoverable from where the wind up happened? Also can the part with the teeth be replaced? Or perhaps the entire cover?
My old powered lift away did this same thing. I thought maybe the screws were lose ... I can't wait to see if it's fixable. I love my old shark powered lift away. It has the best suction of all
I have three same vacuum. I've had it for nearly 4 years now. It has a 7 year warranty so I thought everything was good. Now I know it doesn't cover anything but the suction motor.
I used a similar technique to repair the snapped plastic fittings, but I used a 4mm/5mm male/female sex bolt, as this could pull in both sides and looked quite a neat finish.
I've had this exact thing happen to two separate shark vacuums. The screw trick worked until the outer plastic also cracked. What a terrible waste for such a good vacuum!
Just recieved my shark duoclean vacuum..how do i work the white headlights..I just used vacuum for first time and can't find how to turn headlights on..thanks
Hi! I have this vacuum and the bristle brush roll stopped working. It seems stuck. I cleaned out all hair and even pulled out hair in deep cracks by where it’s attached to the vacuum. I think I’m going to need to take the bristle brush roll out to better assess why it’s not working, but I can’t figure out how to take it out. Do you know how?
I am waiting on a tool to arrive to take the head apart and replace the belt on the inside of this the front brush roll isn't rolling and its super annoying and makes vacuuming nearly impossible if you have any tips it would be appreciate took me a lot of money to purchase the vacuum itself and now this they are refusing to replace it so I am going to have to go in
I hv a cordless shark ionflex 2x duoclean vacuum. I love it had been using it for the past 4yrs. But it doesn't hv the no hair wrap roller. Do u think, the shark apex zero m duo clean head, be compatible with the rest of my vacuum parts? I am willing to buy the apex zero m duoclean head to try but thought I will ask u before I do the purchase. Thank you!
Why do they break so easily?? Mine broke in the same exact place. The brush also shuts off as I’m vacuuming. Bummer :( it was a nice vac while it lasted
One month is way too soon for ANY issues or breakage. I hope I do NOT have such issues with my en route (will receive later today) Shark Apex DuoClean with true pet attachments. I don't why you're fixing broken parts, I will simply send back to Shark at no additional expense to myself using the lifetime VIP warranty.
He is using this vacuum professionally. Very few consumer vacuums could hold up to that kind of usage. Shark has already sent him a new head, he's just trying not to overuse the warrenty as to avoid issues with using it for business (that would void warrenty)
I really wish you would have taken it apart, as that piece is what broke in mine and it fell out when I disassembled the head and now I don't know where it even goes (the actual locking mechanism with a spring on it). Can't find any videos to address this issue. A new head is like $89 and I know I can fix it if I could figure out where the darn thing goes.
Never mind. I found a site that showed belt replacement and I was able to use their close-up photos to find where it goes. d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/pCtlmCAU16FhVaZB.full In the photo, it's that first piece with a spring right above the belt drive that fell out of mine and I couldn't figure out where it went.
He was 4 screws away from being done. On each side there are 2 hidden screws. Pry off the little round plastic pieces hiding the screws, take out the screws. Pry the pieces off the top that releases the top cover. Then pry the side pieces off.
@@TrustKnowWun i had two springs fall out the head. I wondered where they came from and now I know. It sure what their purpose is cause my vacuum still seems to work fine.

Raka Mas this vacuum is really great. It’s clearly not designed for commercial use as these people use and abuse it for. If you are just using it for your own personal use, you shouldn’t have any problems. My shark rotator has lasted seven years with nowhere near the issues described.
I own a navigator pro true pet 752, but I'm considering the Apex Duo Clean Zero M for down stairs as I quilt and have lots of thread, what I'm wondering is are the heads interchangeable? Does anyone know if I can put a duo clean zero M head on a Navigator 752?
Great series, easy to follow and lots of practical advice. Where can I get the security screw driver like the one you have? Do places like Home Depot or Lowe's have them?
Great video. I have this same exact floor nozzle for my Duoclean but I don't think my problem is with the upright. The vacuum turns on and the stick/wand has suction. The nozzle, dust cup, and all hoses are clear. The roller brush is also clear but it will not turn. Any ideas? I just purchased it 4 months ago from the Shark website.
I have the same issue of the plastic broken at the flex part. I called Shark this evening. I have owned mine for almost 4 years. I have the 7 year limited warranty. They told me I need to purchase a new nozzle head which is $89 plus tax and shipping. Should I call back and demand a new head since its still under warranty and this is a defect? Anyone else had any luck with this?
update I called Shark back today. The floor nozzle isn't covered in the warranty so I gave them a piece of my mind. they offered me 50% off a new floor nozzle that is regular $90. Gave me free shipping, came out to $47 total. Satisfied with that offer.
Hi there! I’ve been enjoying your videos. One question about the Shark Apex Zero-M vacuum. Is the orange sponge roller brush on the head washable? Like would I be able to rinse it out with water, dry, and pop back on? Thanks so much!
Mine does the same exact thing. Trying to find a fix still. Did you? I’m trying to take it apart right now to see if the motor isn’t wrapped up with anything.
@@ItsTheLog I am taking mine apart waiting on a hollow t20 to show up hoping to fix it but the front brush roll isn't moving and making it so you cant push it. how did it work for you?
You know I really do like my Shark however I have to say this I think the powerhead is the shittiest design for a powerhead I've ever come across my whole entire life first of all I do like the 0m technology that is really great I love it but the power head needs to be redesigned again first of all they need to have a handle release function instead of just relying on the pressure of the upper base to release it from the powerhead secondly they need to have carpet height adjustment on it instead of allowing it just to float third they need to make it to where you can remove the brush roll on both of them and clean them. And last I wish they would make those headlights brighter and replaceable
Why IU dumped my old shark ALL THOSES SCREWS and not even standard phillips, Ridiculous and clearly designed not to allow you to easily work on it, Shame on you SHARK
The larger brush on mine stopped working but the soft one at the front would work. Even though my unit is just a year old, they refused to replace or repair the bottom roller mechanism. They call it a "wear item" Even though it could have been the gears, belts, motor....REFUSED to fix my one year old unit. Told me I had to buy the entire bottom assembly for about 100.00. They fixed several things on my old shark in the last year of the 5 year warranty. Now it's JOKE. I took it apart and the inner assembly of the big roller is obviously busted. The pulley on the side turns but the roller doesn't ...And it's all pressed together. I also can't seem to find a place to buy the big roller online. Probably because they are all breaking and nobody has them. Don't buy one of these units. They are now cheaply built and the company isn't standing behind them.
My problem with you in the cleaning business is you are doing your customers a disservice by using a cheap bagless vacuum and polluting there enviroment of your customer. Bad business.

Yes, you can hand wash the front roller with soap and water and it will look new again. Thanks for watching!
Place a washer under that screw head, bend the washer to the curve of the plastic.
Otherwise you risk fracture and pull through.
