    Is there a similar technique for a painted metal bumper? I have a very small dent in my 1-month-old Silverado that is bugging me.

    • @ClintHolland
      @ClintHolland  5 месяцев назад

      You can try the same procedure for metal but if it doesn't work, look up PDR videos. Metal is not generally as forgiving but if you take your time you can get the same result.

    Remove the bumper to use a heat gun. Heat carefully from behind

    I wud assume boiling water can jack your paint

    • @ClintHolland
      @ClintHolland  Год назад

      It can although in most cases it would be fine. I don't recommend it but if you have older paint it definitely could cause some issues.

    Looks like something I might Try, although I'm sure my dent is quite a difficult one. Maybe I can contact you and show you it for some advice?

    The kit and every item in the Bbkang Amazon store is unavailable. Looks like they went out of business.

      Search for dent removal kit on Amazon and you will see many of the exact same kits.

    What about that smaller dent to the right? Any way of getting that out with hot water or a heat gun?

    • @ClintHolland
      @ClintHolland  3 года назад

      That's actually not a dent but an indentation built into the bumper to support a front license plate.

    Isopropyl Alcohol/Rubbing Alcohol will wick under hot glue and release it.

      Unfortunately they are saying they are out of stock due to Covid. Go to Amazon and search for PDR Kit and you will get plenty of replacements.

    Would you advise trying this with the bumper removed from the vehicle?

    • @ClintHolland
      @ClintHolland  3 года назад

      It honestly doesn't matter. It might be easier with it still on the vehicle so you have something to support the pulling you are doing.

      @ClintHolland  3 года назад

      Not sure what you mean? People have been using hot water to remove dents for years. Not my idea but it works.

    • @jchrg2336
      @jchrg2336 3 года назад +1

      @@ClintHolland the hot water or applications of heat I do agree on!, but why the glue? Couldn't it be pushed out by hand from reaching the inside and pushing the dent out, or with a piece of wood from the inside?

    • @ClintHolland
      @ClintHolland  3 года назад

      @@jchrg2336 Possibly but not on this vehicle and I suspect many other. This one has a block of foam behind the bumper that would prevent you from doing that but I suspect many cars would be fine.
