@@robnavy3695 You got me wrong. I was admiring beauty of the village. China ia our adversary but that should not make us deny that China is beautiful. This was a really valuable resource for getting a sense of a common style of home layout. (I know it won't be universal) - I'm drawing a children's book and it's set in south east china. I know this one is more northern so the building materials and landscape might differ but it's still useful to see it in a more contemporary/modern setting and even to see the way the gardens will be very practical and run up to the edges of some homes. I've been referencing a book on traditional chinese home construction because I think modern society keeps little bits of its ancestors housing style (Western homes still have porticos and colonades etc.) - but because it (the book on traditional chinese homes) is focused on 'traditional' and older examples of homes (Photographs were from the late 1980's) -- I was finding it hard to be confident I was depicting something even a little bit like what you might see if your drove down some rural road in China and crested a corner to see a village today. Anyway Thank you very much. :)
Those dilapidated houses are old villages that have been abandoned for many years, and no one lives in them. The speed of urbanization in China is too fast. Rural people have moved to the cities, and the old houses in the country have been abandoned and have not been demolished.
