I think k I have the exact problem my mamalona been greasing up my oil pan from right under my turbo. I think it's leaking because the stains seem to match exactly what is going on with yours. I've got it serviced with the cab off and they seem to do a good job just forgot to do that as well. 4000 dollars. Anyways I don't think I'll be going back and I rather buy me a 3 to 4 thousand lift and service my trokita on my own thanks to these great videos that I find online. It was leaking constantly I though my truck would have been toast. My oil rod doesn't seem to read the proper oil so I have to deal with that. Anyways I changed the oil yesterday and I had 20 to quarts. I added oil think a large amount was leaking. As it turned out it was minimal leak but damn it's scary. Thank you for all your help.
I'm a former 2T3 with the same exact darned leak. Thought I had my share of working on these in the service but then I went out and bought one when I got out. Hardly nothing in that rubber cap on the trans but I can trace it to somewhere up to the front of the engine. I'll be checking for what you showed me this weekend. Good video.
Turbo drain seals- It's a pain to pinpoint though, it involves removing both turbos and the pedestal. Use a mirror and a good light to look at the back of the motor, under the up pipes. If there's oil there, you might have your culprit.
@@USAF99 OK thanks. My alternator seized while driving and that caused the belt to snap, so the truck coolant temp ran hot for about 2 minutes before I finally pulled over and shut it off. After that the truck now leaks a lot of oil.
@@bcbp14 that could be several things, none of them are good and all of them are going to get more expensive to longer you let it go. I would definitely take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check it out. The sooner the better because it will be cheaper to find it before it goes pop.
Figured I'd follow up incase someone comes across this. The lower pan was rusted out and upper oil pan gasket was leaking. Replaced the pan and gaskets with engine in. Took about a day. Not the bed plate.
Just got a 6.4 in the shop with what I thought was a rear main, so I'm definitely gonna check!
That or the front crank seal behind the balancer. Believe it or not, i've seen it.
How much did they charge you
Glow plug harness seals leak also , Valve cover, Seal/gasket on High pressure pump will look all look like rear main seals also.

Nice video! Had a similar leak. Thought rear main. Was the damn o ring gasket on the oil dipstick…. Never installed from the factory
Really good video... appreciate it the share! 🙌
This might be a long shot but do you know the part number of the orange drain?
Oil Pipe - Ford (8C3Z-9T516-B) is the high side & The low side (orange plastic piece) I have only seen in kits ---- Part #: 8C3Z9T514C
for my 6.4.
Will it leak with the vehicle off? Or only while running?
You might get some residual after the truck shuts off but it should only leak when oil is being pumped to the turbos

@@USAF99 oh man that's what I'm afraid of. Thanks for the quick reply.
