You sprayed too close to the carpet and you should have done light layers with enough drying time between each layers if you do it right the carpet will literally feel the exact same and still be soft.
@@sounddesignsforyou998 i mean i wouldn’t say it’s just as soft as before but i got it pretty damn close by just waiting between layers, so this arm chair expert helped lmao
@@John-pp6xy Most people watching this want to spray paint there car carpet. Do we really go to our cars and twinkle our toes in the car carpet. Let be rough anyways. I think it does a great job the way it is.
Use dupli color plastic primer first then an enemel spray paint over the top after to coats of plastic primer it will last for ever and won't flake also clean and use 600 grit sand paper before any painting
@@ogtimmy2355I used the same exact paint on plastic vinyl pieces on my s10 and so far it hasn’t came off it worked good it just started orange peeling because I didn’t get all the wax build up off
Get a brush specifically for this job. Scrub while the dye/paint is wet. It helps keep the paint from clumping at the ends of the fibers which is what makes it rough and stiff.
Haha. Sorry I haven't really driven the car much. Its currently blown up. Engines at the machine shop. But as soon as I actually put some miles on the car ill make an update!
I just havnt made one. But overall its not bad. But in places that get rubbed constantly you can see the gray is starting to come back. Im glad I did it, it looks fine. But if you need something durable for everyday driving. Id maybe stick to dying it
We spray painted it. You can find the video on that on our channel. It has kind of faded since then id recommend dying it. And no we don't offer dying services unfortunatley
Not sure if your still looking to do this but tips for the carpet after you paint it and it's dry use clear coat on it if you don't know what it is it is a protective layer after you finish painting it will make the Moisture runoff kinda like it's water proof
Realisticly you could use any spray paint because it's fabric it will soak in no matter what the only difference is the carpet won't be soft at all but if it's only where your feet are going who cares I wouldn't recommend 1 dollar paint on the seats or dash though
Lolol. So I did that carpet and then I still had to put the car together.. and then I got it running... and then it ran for about 3 months... and then I got it tuned.. and then it blew up because the clearances wernt right in the engine. So now I dropped off a new engine at the machine shop to check everything since I dont want to go through this agian. But they have had the engine for a little over a month. No smell at all. Just let it dry. Before you install it back in your car. Only thing I noticed is if you put a lot of pressure on the same spot over and over. I kept stepping on the back part right under the rear seat while installing my speakers, the paint seems to fade. Maybe it would be better if I sprayed lighter coats. But I can always just spray the part agian. So I'm still happy with it

I did mine and work out fantastic.. I was shock how easy was. Great result...
can i do that on my house carpet?
Can we do a house carpet?
I'm sure you can. I would be worried about high traffic areas, but I don't have a lot of experience with this.
@@IT_Performance did you take a brush to the fibers while the paint was still wet to prevent stiffness?
@@EmilyTienne unfortunatley I did not know that that would help when I did it. Ohh well!
I found this useful because I want to spray paint a small luxury carpet black so I can put it in my gym (got new carpets in my living room) Thanks!
Brush it out with a soft brush it helps it go ack softer
Yes sir. Its starting to go back to gray. Think I went too heavy with the coats
i did my carpets dash door panels next is seats
love this paint
Can I use to spray paint for my home carpet?
I'm going to do this in my truck and add black weather tech mats...also doing my headliner and visors. 👍
Were gonna do some plastic interior pieces too

Never seen part two with it inside the car
Rub it all over with a brush and it will get softer.
That's what i was thinking. But its not a huge deal. I think ill eventually just get a new carpet

Very soon. Not terrible for a weekend car. But if you drive everyday itll be gon in places you contact a lot
How well did it hold up after 3 years
It's not bad. Areas if high traffic like where my feet constantly sit went back to gray. But thats under my floor mats so I'm ok with it!
Sounds like you have a mouth full of marbles when you talk
You went to hard on the coats & heavy, thats why! You should have went with some very light coats at first

When it’s wet. It needs days to set.

It smelled a little bit for the first week maybe. Then it went away
