It's surprising for a vehicle that cost almost 80k and still use halogen turn signals. All other lights are led except for that. Comon Ford, spend the extra $10 and make all exterior lights to led.

Ford's argument is that you don't open the bonnet as often as the tailgate and hence the the cost cutting. Only time will tell if that's true or not as the realiabilty of the 10sp tranny has been sorted from the older generation or not.
Your comments on fuel economy on the V6 is interesting. Given I'm not towing I didn't think the V6 was necessary at all but if fuel economy would be the same I might have to rethink that

i hear good things about the bi turbo (ive just ordered a v6 sport) but the injectors were a big issue in the px3 rangers and everests in the bi turbo. Something to look into. But i know a few people with bi turbos and they love them

weve had 2 prados, a kakadu and now a kakadu horizon. Sick of the lack of engine size. Have ordered an everest sport 3 months ago. New prados look terrible IMO. The only thing i personally didnt like with the everest was the steering is so, so light. Adblue also annoying. Im not car expert but i am a car enthusist and i think the next gen everest (and ranger for that matter) will be great cars. 5 year unlimited km warranty also a big plus
Its an upgrade if you can maintain this thing, because fords ar harder to maintain and if it fail you need to pay big money, i think if you want to have the toyota again with its reliability you can get lc 200 or 300

Can you do an Everest vs 300 comparison.. I know they're different classes but when you consider, weight, dimensions and engine capacity, they're closer than you think, tbh I think the Everest has the 300.. especially when you consider the Everest is 20k cheaper than the base model 300
only on paper. We bought an everest but I wish we had a 300. On paper they are similiar but the everest is just so.. cheap.. everything feels cheap and crap quality. Even things like the paint, our car has 1600kms on it and already has paint chips on the bonnet, and we haven't even taken it out of town yet..
No seat belt adjustment, so that small passengers like myself may well find the seat belt sitting across one's throat, even with the seat adjusted to full height. Not a good look in a prang.
What do ya want? A fckn ute for being a work horse, or family and or otherwise adventure , camping, towing , exploring etc or a sports car. If you care for 0 to 100 in so many seconds there is absolutely no reason you should be watching a review on this type of car!

@@ckaparos 3litre? , turbo charged ? diesal ? will never be a performance powertrain of any significance, unless they could fit it into something the size of a VW Golf or Honda some such little thing. My point being that the 3.2L powetrain of which i have experienced , via ownership of a bT50 ( for 160 thsnd Ks) now a ranger so far only 60 thsnd Ks, is that this set up is quite capable of the pick up and overtakabilty ( new word) when required, easily at 110kmh plus- and that is whilst towing our 1.7 ton camper plus load in tray. My point is- these vehicles are built for a far different kind of muscle than that which warrants a 0 - 100 over so many seconds rating, that rating is relevant when comparing a Holden ( GM) V8 or Ford V8 car( for those into that kind of driving/mechanics/engineering, and good on them beceause thats cool too) But , these are two different types of powertrain and 0 to 100 is of no real value to the buyer of a 4WD that is buying a 4WD to use as a 4WD. That is a way to fill up a few more minutes of a review, and to maintain the interest of those who like to hear stats.

Not the best with a rear axle rating of just 20kg more than the outgoing model (1770kg now). Lucky to get 250kg on tow ball with a few kids and not go over rating. Do your research guys!

I think it's due to European demand. First batches from the Silverton plant is earmarked for the European market. 1st world Country 😎. 3rd world or developing countries will be supplied once the European market has been satisfied. It makes perfect sense from a business perspective. I am a full blooded original ZA by the way and a potential Wildtrak v6 candidate awaiting trial. So I patiently wait for D-day, because I know that The bad taste of a long wait will be long forgotten after the sweet taste of that V6 power remains. 😋😋
@@Rockbottomsurf It does have a permanent 4wd for high friction surfaces just like the Super Select in Pajero, and also has a slippery setting for snow and ice. I worked at a Mitsu dealership for 6 years and just bought an Everest. I like Pajero but it really isn't close.
i dont know that it is... It s a lot of money no doubt (i ordered one 3 months ago) but what do you think the lesser new prado will come in at? surely more than the everest. I think for what you get in the sport its a lot of money but you get a lot of good gear. The only real omission for me is a sunroof/moonroof which only the platinum gets. I dont like sunroofs personally but for 80k it should have a sunroof, other wise i think its priced high but reasonable for what you get. For example carsales says our Jan 2020 Prado Kadaku Horizon is still worth 80-85k with 65,000kms on it... no apple car play AT ALL and a 2.8L slug with massively dated interior and exterior. When you compare the same dollars for what i currently have and a brand new everest sport with 5 year warranty etc etc as well as V6 and 10sp trans.... i personally think its a no brainer dumping the prado for the everest.

I would like the Platinum, but with the BLACK trim from the Sport. Otherwise, the Everest seems to be the best in class by a country mile.
