Really helpful! Thank you! Watching from the Philippines.
Glad I could help! Greetings from California 🙂
Man, I really needed the review for this microphone
I hope it helped 🙌🙂
@@TobiasHolenstein is this compatible with android if I own a adapter? I'm about to buy it and need a quick response looking at Q&A from the web I think it does
@@uishaggy8552 I haven't tried it with an android, but I have tried it with my iPhone and it works using an OTG adapter
@@TobiasHolenstein I bought it and okay I will try it with an android adapter and let you know if it works, I get the mic on Thursday and Adapter on Friday
It's been about 6 years that I've used my HyperX Cloud 2 with its mic, and I believe this is a suitable change. Awesome video
Thank you!
Your video helped push me to click the purchase button. :D
Awesome review! I can't wait for mine to arrive.
I'm glad I could help! I'm sure you will love the mic :)

i was thinking on buying this. I was looking for a review and this helped me out so much!
Awesome! Glad I could help! 😄
Dude no way this mic is insane I can’t wait for it to come
It's a great mic for the price! I'm sure you will love it 🙂

thanks bro, i needed this, this is my first usb mic im getting!
No problem man! It's a great mic! Enjoy 😄
I've been looking for a mic since my headset mic hasn't been up to par, but this was very helpful! Great video!
The way you review it is what I’m looking for to watch now, because I don’t know whether the sound will be good enough in 20-30cm of distance
my friend has been needing a good mic and i showed this to him. thanks!
Awesome! I hope this helps him out!
Thank you for this review! I will absolutely be buying this mic!
No problem! Enjoy your new mic! 🙂
Is this compatible to Smartphones ? Using an otg cable.
I just used your Amazon link to purchase this microphone plus a shock mount that will hopefully be compatible with it. Thanks for the detailed review and keep up the great work!
Thanks so much Rafael, I appreciate it! Enjoy your new microphone! 🙌
@@TobiasHolenstein You're welcome and so far I'm loving it. Combined with VOICEMEETER BANANA and OBS Reaper plugins, it sounds even better. Any chance of you doing a Maono PM461TR vs MAONO AU-PM421 video?
4:38 "If you guys hear that noise that sounds like water"
Dang mic so good can't even hear the water thing you were talking about
Hi Tobias! Thanks for the review. I bought mine recently and I tried to connect it to my phone using an adapter to record instruments. But then the audio seems to be wonky like the pitch shifts/bends in the recording. Any idea what is wrong? Thank you!
nice im gonna get the mic now
Enjoy your new mic! 🙂
Same! Thzx Mr tester!
@@djstock02 Awesome! Enjoy your mic 🙂
I can't wait to get my hands on this mic! (with Krisp). Thanks Tobias!
Ordered this as a replacement for my headset microphone. Can't wait!
Enjoy your new mic!
Thanks for this nice review!
My pleasure!
Thank you Tobias, I immediately placed my order after your review. You've saved me a lot of time and money.
Same, i bought it for 25$
hey, tobias! thank you for this review. i liked how you focused on the details. this is really helpful! :)
Hi! Thank you! 🙌I'm glad I could help 🙂
Im pretty sure it dropped down to $19.99!!
Wow that's really good!
Thank you so much for this review man! You made me buy my first usb condenser mic
Hi Emmanuel! You're welcome! I'm glad I could help. Enjoy your new mic! 🙂

Hey great review! I'm about to start a new semester zoom teaching and was I was planning to buy the Maono AU-PM421T. Then I saw your awesome review. The only difference I can see in the specs is the mute button. Have you compared the Maono AU-PM461TR with the 421 or do you know what the difference is? The price difference is quite a bit.
No way this mic is so good it will help with my videos tysm
Yeah! It's one of my favorites!
Hello, I love your videos! It was really helpful. I just bought this mic because of your good reviews. I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but it's my first time using a mic and i just wanna ask if two mics will work on one laptop?
I actually bought this exact mic yesterday and it arrives tomorrow. This is my first review I've watched about it and I'm surprised that it sounds so good - for the price! I bought it for work, not streaming/gaming so it didn't matter if it sounded professional or not but wow. I'm surprised how good it is :)
Bro, how is your mic working now and is it made of metal or plastic?
looove the sound of this mic so much, it's so warm and deep. Love it. it's great for documentaries for me
I had ordered today 😊
Nice! Enjoy your new mic!
this mic is so good for its price
cant wait to get it
It is! Enjoy your new mic!
Great review as always! You should do a video of your RUclips studio setup, what mic you go for in which instant and so on. Love you reviews althow I'm not in to mics...
Thanks man! Yeah thats a good idea. I think I will do that one of these days
Would you reccomend this mic over the Maono Au-A04 you reviewed before? Thanks, man. Enjoyed the review btw
That's a tough one. Personally I think I would probably go with the Maono Au-A04 mostly because it comes with both the tripod stand and the arm stand, but if I was on a tighter budget then yeah I would go for the Maono AU-PM461TR. In my opinion the Au-A04 sounds a little warmer, but very very clean, and the AU-PM461TR sounds a little more sensitive in the higher frequencies, which is fine too. It's just personal preference. I hope that helps! and thank you for watching 🙂
Thank you for this!!
No problem! 🙌
Your video was very helpful
Glad I could help 🙂
I just bought the mic. Thanks for the review. I feel confident to buy this after you said sorry for the sound of your fish tank. I hear nothing just your voice. Lol so this is actually a good quality mic within the budget
Awesome! You're welcome 🙂 I'm glad you couldn't hear the fish tanks haha. Enjoy your new mic! I think it's great for the price!
How is it?
Sorry im not really a tech geek, and since I don't have a pc, can I use an OTG to connect the USB from the microphone to my phone and recieve the sound directly from the mic into my phone? ;)
Yes you can 🙂
@@TobiasHolenstein Thank you, appreciate it!
@@samfernandez7143 You're welcome!
Hi Tobias, I have a problem with this setup that I have been trying to work out for a year since I got this microphone. When I use the mic and a maono headphone to monitor my recording there is a delay which makes it hard for me to talk because I have been hearing myself a few milliseconds delayed which causes me to get interrupted whenever I am speaking. I am from the Philippines here.
Thank you for the review, just ordered it now, lets see !
Tobias, you were correct about USB C OTG working. My final issue is, when I plug in the mic using the OTG, the headphones completely stopped working. I've tried blue tooth buds, wired headset and wired headset plugged into a splitter. This issue occurs with everything ranging from Skype to Open Camera. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Is it good for podcasting and RUclips videos? And do I still need a soundcard for this? Anyways, I already made a subb on your channel. Thanks for the info!
Hi Irene, thank you so much for the sub! I think it would be a great mic for podcasting and RUclips videos. All around I think it's a great budget mic 🙂
sir just want to. if you using that mic on livestream and if you plug the headphone on computer can you monitor your voice directly to the headset.. i mean you can hear rght away your voice while you are live. thank you
Ordered mine today :3 Thanks for clearing my doubts
Awesome! Hope you like it! 🙌 and you're welcome 🙂
Hey! Excellent detailed review! Thank you!
I have a somewhat unusual task. I need to record 10-80 kHz ultrasound (animal voice), and the analog-to-digital converter of this MAONO PM461TR microphone should be up to the task. Could you make a test recording of 192 kHz / 24 bit? Just shake a bunch of iron door keys so that they jingle in front of the microphone, and put the resulting wav file somewhere without processing.
Did you have to changeany settings on the computer? My input was too low and it barely captures my voice.
Man, you just saved my money from terrible budget mics. subscribed. Thanks!
Glad I could help! And thank you for the sub 🙂
Thank you so much... Love from Brazil! =]
You're welcome! Greetings from California!

Sir the mic is made Of platic Or metal?? I have placed an order and the seller is telling me that it is made of plastic.
Did you plugged it in straight to your PC or did you use it woth an audio interface? Does it need a software? Thanks in advance.
Just ordered this mic for $22 just waiting it's from China 🥰 upgrading from cheap BM800, i didn't like the sound but good with voicemeeter. But it's a hassle Everytime i have to record i have to set the voicemeeter
what is your whole streaming setup? are you running osb? I'm a music guy who is trying to get a decent setup for some pods I've been invited to do. I don't want to deal with my interface and trying to treat the room. thought? It doesn't seem noisy at all for a condenser.
Superb Review. A lot of people can save money with this budget.
Thank you! Yeah it's an excellent price!
Thank you buddy , this is really a great value for money mic .
Is There A Shockmount Available For This Microphone?
Thanks For The Video, Just Subscribed To Your Channel
Thank you for subscribing! 🙂As for a shock mount there are some "universal" shock mounts that will fit a variety of microphones, but I don't think there is one specifically for this mic. I would probably recommend going with the type of shock mount that works like a clamp. I found this one on Amazon amzn.to/3lGns39 I haven't personally tried it, but it looks very similar to some of the shock mounts that were included in some of the mic kits I got from Amazon. It might even be the same one. I also measured the diameter of the mic and it looks like it will fit. I tried out one of the shock mounts that I have and the gain knob on the front of the mic even fits in the opening of the clamp. You can even take off the elastic bands from the shock mount and turn the clamp around and put the bands back on so the opening is in the front of the shock mount instead of the back. That last part was a little hard for me to explain, I hope that made sense lol
Thanks For The Reply
Through which noise-gate [ de noizer ] are you passing the signal? have an honest review, turn on the A / C and disconnect the noise gate from Audacity ... there you will see the real ambient noise, put it in a room without acoustics and you will see ... mediocre microphone in normal real conditions ...
I am not using a noise gate for the PM461TR. This is the raw audio from the PM461TR. The only acoustic treatment I have are 3 pieces of acoustic foam on the wall next to my desk. In my opinion it is a great mic for the price
Hello man! great video
btw, can we put Maono AU-PM461TR on boom arm?
ofcourse you can
i'm planning to buy this microphone but i wanted to look up a review first. your video helped a lot! thank you!
Glad I could help! Enjoy your new microphone 🙂
Oh and you said you have the gain knob on the microphone turned all the way down, as in max volume?
Sorry for asking so many questions haha.
It's all good haha. I can't remember now lol. I'll have to try the mic again and see where I put my volume at, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have it at max volume
@@TobiasHolenstein I'm just quite worried about my microphone. My microphone is muted when the gain is turned all the way down. By any chance, is yours the same? I'm just afraid my microphone might be weak and not loud to standard.
Great review btw. Watched this review over 10 times helping me decide to get this one.
i was going to buy the maono au a03 kit..but i saw your reviews on the pm 461tr..and now i'm freaking excited for my new mic!
Glad to hear it! Enjoy your new mic! 😄
Do you have any soundcard used while mic testing it? Coz the mic quality is so good!
Nope, just the built in soundcard that is inside the microphone 🙂I was very impressed with the audio as well
@@TobiasHolenstein Thanks a lot for the reply!
appreciated
can you do an earrape test i wanna make my friends pay for the earrape they have done
This mic or the Fifine? A lot of people love the Fifine.
Good question! Fifine makes really good mics too. I have the K670 and it sounds really good. It is a but more expensive though
is it better than the a04
Yo, thank you so much, once I get the chance to, imma buy this. Yet again, tysm!
You're welcome! Glad I could help 🙂
Thanks bro I'm buying it in a few hours
how do u connect your headphones?
I just connected them to the headphones jack on my computer. There is no headphone jack on the mic itself
yea...paid review...mine is so bad...records guitar really badly...huge wavy stuttery artifacts...a lot of noise....scam on so many levels...cant even return it...this sort of equipment is actually really expensive...thats it
Fr bro?
Hey nice vid! Btw can you connect it on android?
I personally haven't tried it with android, but I have tried it with my iPhone using the OTG adapter and it works just like how I did it in this vide ruclips.net/video/f3WM1Upx53Y/видео.html I believe it should work with android though.
bought this, so worth it!
Awesome! Glad you like it!
did you edit the sound of the mic? or that's actually the sound of the mic without any effects on it
Nope, that is the raw audio from the mic 🙂
@@TobiasHolenstein is there a big hiss in the background? I mean how is the noise suppression of this mic
@@mainowl In my opinion the noise floor or hiss is very very low compared to a lot of other USB microphones that I have reviewed
@@TobiasHolenstein gotcha, thanks for the response. Keep up the good work.
hey..firstly..im sorry for my english...i want to ask you..which maono microphone realy best for podcasting..
Depending on your budget, I think this one is really good for the price. However I think my favorite ones are the pm401 and the pm421
Hey Tobias! Do you think this microphone would be a good upgrade from the BM800, and would it be good for recording vocals and recording guitar?
I had a comment from someone else that said they upgraded to this mic from the BM800 and they said it was an improvement and yeah I think it would be good for recording both vocals and guitar
I can compare got both mics
Awesome review man!! 👌👌
Thank you for this review, I just bought this microphone on Aliexpress for 25.27 €. I was unable to find it on Amazon Italy (where I live). I need only a good microphone for videoconferencing and I think that this can be a good choice, maybe a bit exagerated for this purpose, but I will not go bankrupt for 25 euros! :-)
You're welcome! 🙂 I've also noticed that availability of products sometimes varies by country, but I'm glad you were able to find it! Best of luck with your new mic! 🙌
MAONO AU-A04TR WITH OLD CHIP VS
MAONO AU-PM461TR WHICH ONE IS BETTER
Can we hear the backing track using headphones while recording covers?
I have a question. Since this mic doesn't have a direct monitoring capability, are there concerns when you're listening to yourself through your laptop? Is there a split sec delay or change of output sound? Still learning here. Thanks Tobias!
Yeah there is a very slight delay (compared to zero latency monitoring), but it's not really noticeable. Maybe just by a few milliseconds or something.
Do i have to buy audio interface, sound card or phantom power???
Nope, the cool thing about USB mics is that you don't need any additional equipment. Just plug the USB cable straight into your computer
Great review Tobias, just ordered mine off Amazon. My order was I think the older version of the packaging cause it’s not horizontal and without the pop filter, but no worries. Straight to the point, beautiful. Keep up the good work. Wish you good luck on your youtube channel!
Please suggest an app to implement voice quality
Love from India 4 this video ❤️
The BandLab app is a pretty good one 😄
@@TobiasHolenstein thanks
thanks for the review! I just bought one but my mic volume is kinda low even though i put the gain knob on 100 and it doesn't sound that good. any ideas?
Hi sorry to hear that! Have you checked what the input gain on your computer is set to? Maybe it is set kind of low
The microfon is working with a printer cable? Because the type is USB A, no?
what is your recommended gain knob position for this microphone? planning to use for discord.
Would also appreciate to hear your insights with what input volume setting on discord for best quality of audio
I don't personally have experience with discord, I'll have to try it out one of these days, but I would say as long as you turn the knob up enough so your voice can be heard, that should be fine. Just make sure your voice isn't clipping and you should be good.
I'm not sure if higher gain picks up background noise/hiss? Krisp/RTX Voice in Discord might work very well against that. So you should try playing around with how far you are and how much you want. You might need to increase your gain. I'm just guessing, as I'm thinking about getting this mic for myself.
Consider using voicemeter banana with VSTs if you have enough CPU cycles to spare.
i liked it at 9 o'clock angle with distance of 5 to 10 inches.
is it in the condenser itself?
Can we use it for singing?
Yes it can be used for singing 🙂
Pro
Hyperx solocast or Manono pm461TR? which you think?
Fifine k670 or this?
Looking for an affordable condenser microphone and I think I found it! Thank you! :)
I'm glad I could help! 🙂 I think you will like this microphone
buying this rn , i've gone through 30 cheap lapel mics and this sounds better and won't suffer the same fate the lapel mics have lmaoo
can it work on ps4?
I have the same mic as you have and I don't think I have the same experience as you do. My mic sounds quiet at around 25% at the same distance as in your video. Is their a way for me to fix that issue. Btw if it helps, i am plugging the mic directly into my laptop port.
Friend, this microphone is suitable for singing with high notes
It is the only microphone that my money can afford
In most of the cases u r reviewing with pC or Laptop onboard. If u could able to view them on smart phone. It could be better.
i hope this isnt hate but I like how when u switch back to the camera audio it seems like the microphone is 10000% better lol great review bro im def checking this mic out
Since it picks up your fish tank, does it pick up sounds that are further away? Are you able to turn the gain down and speak closer to it so that it won't pick up other sounds? Is it possible to use this microphone with desktop speakers?
Hey!!!! I wanna start stream on a PS5 console, do you think it's worth It to use It????
I've never used it with a PS5, but I think it should be fine for that
I'm sold.. ordering now 😂
Enjoy your new mic! 🙌
does it mute when the gain knob is all the way down?
Ohh
