If you want to clear out trees fast and your villagers are just not getting to them, drop a farm plot over the area you want cleared, the laborers will clear out all the items in that area, a lot faster than they would on just harvest orders.
One thing that I do a lot is make double gates. Basically, create a tunnel where once the raiders/ invading army destroys one gate they still need to pass through a narrow road blocked by another gate. I will usually have 4 towers around the gatehouse in a box formation.
Bought this game recently and yes, this game is very very cool. Especially the transition from village to town and to city. Not many games let you feel that you build an actual medieval city, and this game literally incentives you to build something that looks medieval (no 40x of the same building and abusing some game mechanics etc). Supply chains are a little complicated, but its not too much. Things they clearly need to work on is the combat system, which is very clunky. The performance, game gets laggy in later stages. And endgame content, it has basically only 4 tiers. Overall resource balance for later stages, since trees regrow way to slow to upkeep a larger population. Probably also some automatization for later stages. And fix the damn trading, you can trade once a year but if all traders arrive at the same time you are screwed since you can have only 2 workers transporting all the materials and very little time to do it.
The coolest thing about this game is that it is still in beta. So many things that can be added to make it even more fun to play. Your video brought to mind a few, mostly around the concept of having different types of troops, perhaps within the same buildings or using different "soldier" type buildings. To accomplish this, being able to toggle which type of troop a soldier would be, either individually (the best option) or at least within a given building would be spar. For example, you could have heavy shock troops with plate and heavy weapons and crossbows. But then also have medium troops (that march faster) with Hauberks and swords. And skirmishing troops with lighter armor such as hide coats and swords. Basically these all exist in the game currently as the defaults based on what weapons and armor you provide. They just don't seem to have any differences in how fast they move. Then add a "stable" which could be used to provide horses for troops to convert them into 3 different styles of riders, all of which would be faster than the non-mounted marching men. This would transform the rudimentary gameplay that currently exists around battles into something that is much more fun. Kudos for the video, first I've seen of you Raptor! Cheers, JW
Still too dumb. Like, when one guy broke through the wall the rest of the AI should stop attacking their walls and go through. Was nice to see how it spread it forces out and did multiple things though.
Being able to loot the bodies of dead enemies would be nice, especially the ones with nice equipment. 14:00 Wow 8 metal to make a sword (or some kind of 'weapon') and 15 to make a halberd (or whatever a 'heavy weapon' is, probably pole arm) but no wood? The metal pieces they use for crafting can't be that large. I'd guess that an estimate of 125-250g (4.4-8.8oz) wouldn't be too far off, a guess. This looks like a game worth keeping my eyes on.
I actually checked and at least for T1 towers you pay the same 5 gold/month fee no matter how many guards you have stationed there. 0, 1 or 2 every month it was still 5 gold for the tower. So if gold is an issue, better to put 2 guards to man a tower before making a new one.
hi raptor cek this out. When u used builder or laborers to build 2 layer of wall(any type of wall) some time ur builder can stuck in the middle of wall. and when u used 2 layer of wall, ram unit wil stuck another unit in that wall
I’ve been tempted to build a maze of stone field fence or wood field fences with a road between them leading toward a stone wall, but with towers, like a tower defense but I create pathing. At least to slow them down enough for the towers to do their work. Have not tried it, busy flattening a large mountain
But what stops towers from firing? I have layers of walls, but wondering if I have them too tight. Is there anything that blocks a tower's line-of-sight to an enemy?
I noticed that you plant trees outside your arbatoriums range. if you select the building you can see that it has a ring area around it. Im not sure but I think that is the only area that your worker will gather from.
The game where a whole town of people run around like idiots in order to defend their town against a few pathetic raiders running around like idiots in order to steal a handful of gold.
Great video Raptor! Thanks so much. Question...how do you see all the city in maximus view like at the end this video?? I play but I don't know to do it Thanks in advance!!
!!!!Help!!!! In the early days about 1 or 2 weeks ago you had a button that showed the name of the building to help find them when your city is large. Like the Fletcher. How do you do that??? F2, F3, F4 don't seem to bring the building names up?? Please help.....!!!! Am I missing something?
Great video, not super related but I notice you have low food also. Does everyone else find that things spoil really really fast? I have all the storage, done things like not letting food be stored in the market etc but the rate of spoiling just seems really high and wipes out my stockpiles.
Some vegetables last a long time in the root cellar. Smoking meat and fish is also very effective. Grain can last a long time, too, so if you make enough of it, then your bakery will keep working through the winter.
Its hilarious how its impossible to see the actual faces of your soldiers because the sword-icon is perfectly taking up the entire circumference of their heads hahahaha
@raptors. This game remind me way too much of Sierra entertainment games Pharoah series, Zeus master of olympus with Gods to help fight in battle & Emperor of rise middle king with "hero" to fight hero or bless hero non-fight. Heck even the payment part invasion bride or etc look so similar.
Yeah, I feel it in the desirability of housing sectors as well. Was a big fan of Zeus and made many long promenades to host the nobles in for army power.
should just put up some signs saying "sword/bow free zone" so that people dont commit any violence against your people. ban high capacity crossbows! lol
I think it’s when you have the laborers carrying stuff and then you make build orders so they drop the stuff and go build. You can reduce the numbers of builders so you always have more laborers. I hope this makes sense.
I had some maps at 300 pop where i had used all limited resources, all clay, iron, stone and gold, so I was having to trade grain for all of those to just keep from dying.
3:41 100 GOLD INGOTS to upgrade a wooden tower a bit. BRUH! I know it doesn't represent realistic values, but god DAMN that is a LOT! Like the entirety of Fort Knox couldn't upgrade more than a few of these towers.

Such a good tip thanks wood is a pain at the start
It's the same as marking each tree as a priority, but it's easier for bigger areas

This is a must, and was often done in real life.
Wow! A medieval killing zone?

This looks like a fusion of Banished and good old Age of Empires. I love it.
1999 Pharaoh for sure!!
@@aosebob5382 I hear they're remastering Pharaoh soon.
@@aosebob5382 If i like games like AOE, Caesar, Rimworld, Empire Earth do you think i will i like this game too?
@@greggreg2458 if you can get past the early access part then you will love this. I just hope they don’t pull a Distant Kingdoms 🤣

GLORY TO RAPTORIA
Have a second barracks and set it near the wall, deploy the troops from it after the enemies get into the city and trap them.
A good vid indeed.
BUT it seems so ridiculous that raiders can destroy a stonewall with just wooden clubs and swords. 🤔🙄
It's just a game
@@ДушманКакдела there are games that requires a battering ram and siege weapon to destroy one though, also called just a game
@@DYSCtv then go play one of those games crybaby.

Well.... you sold me the game and its alot of fun, thx.
I like that the AI doesn't just go for one tactic but spreads their army - some to the gates, some to the walls, some around it.
Still too dumb. Like, when one guy broke through the wall the rest of the AI should stop attacking their walls and go through. Was nice to see how it spread it forces out and did multiple things though.

So shoes are extremely important, valuable and desirable in this game. I will protect the shoes!
This looks awesome. WIsh I had the time and a PC lol

wow this setup is so massive.. i assume this may have been played around 3 weeks??
Thx for all your hints and tips vids it has helped me alot👏
Hi raptor
I would play and love this game if the troops/combat was more fluid, realistic, and involved.

The settlement looks like Age of Empire
looks like there is considerable range for expansion of this game. Vrrry intresting.
Imagine a game with the building gameplay of Farthest Frontier and the combat gameplay of the Stronghold games.
I noticed that you plant trees outside your arbatoriums range. if you select the building you can see that it has a ring area around it. Im not sure but I think that is the only area that your worker will gather from.
Hello
Hi thanks for ther vid mate. I have one question, how do you get so much wood ? I've depleted all mine and it didn't regrow
It should grow back so I play slowly giving time to regrow maybe?
@@Raptoria Ok i'll give it a try. Thank you.
My fletcher cannot even provide a steady supply of arrows for my two hunting cabins. How many fletchers am I supposed to employ to supply an army?

Would building a small fence on the inside of the doors to the walls trick the AI into pathing where you'd like? Or would they just bust through them?
I hope they do, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Arab, Moroccan, Iranian, Mongol, Tibet, Mali-Hausa/Sahel, Ethiopia, Burmese, Thai, Cambodian, Indonesia/Javanese, Malay and Vietnamese city.

F2 'should' be the building widget toggle. maybe you rebound it? check your keybinds.
i read they disabled this feature because of a bug but it will be coming back.

in comparison how much better is this compared to AOE4

This game remind me Stronghold + Anno 1404.. looking nice
1st rule is to have gold mine built ASAP lol
this game looks like a blend of anno and banished and take some good mechanic from 4x games (i hate 4x ) which is nice
Feels like abit like Endzone A World Apart but better
Can you attack enemy cities?

Yes for the service area around the houses.
Helps with income and desirability, 2 housing areas, 2 markets, more gold.
How can turn map ؟!!
