Hey guys, I just started watching these tournaments so this is probably a dumb question but . . what does a 'reset' mean? Phenom did not win after a score of 3-1 but instead he got a Reset. Thanks!
There's two different brackets: winners & losers. If you lose to one person you're in losers, lose twice and you're out. The person in losers can beat the other person in Gf to bring them into losers bracket, "resetting" the set /bracket. They then play a fresh 3-0. Essentially the person in losers has to win twice

Tokido became one with Akuma when he needed the clutch. Phenom had a good run until his complete offensive set was downloaded. Tokido needed to learn his preferred options and tendencies.
Whats crazy is that Tokido is the only player I know of who stayed dedicated to 1 character for a long time lol. He played Akuma in SF5, SF4 and even in Capcom v.s. SNK 2 he played Akuma.
@The Mixed Plate Frequency Akuma has consistently been a top tier character. I’m sure that that helps.
That is true too, his character has always been in game. But in capcom vs snk 2, akuma sucked big time. lol

@@beganfish he was only considered bad because didnt have much time to see his potential. season 2 akuma is far stronger than season 4 akuma regardless of how he was perceived

I'm not saying karin isn't one of(if not) the strongest characters in SFV but instead of just nerfing her other characters should instead be buffed. It's far better to make multiple characters better and change up the meta a bit then to just make one character a little weaker. The issue that any fighting game must balance is strength of character , especially as esports continue to get bigger, matches get boring to watch when all u see are the same characters fighting each other every match. I find myself watching day 1 and day 2 pool streams way more often now than top 16s or top 8s because there is much more character variety on those days of the big tournaments. There's a reason everybody goes crazy when the tournament is winding down and Bonchan chooses Sagat on character select.

@@ensanesane obviously why hes not playing necalli. Qualifying and making and winning grand finals are 2 major differences. You get points by entering and making top 32 and by region. You enter every tournament and keep accumulating points you are bound to get enough just getting near top 16 especially when you have sponsors paying for your trips
@@JoshT4life bruh what are you talking about? Phenom won a premier in 2016 and also got 3rd and 5th in premiers that same year. In 2017 he got 4th and 7th in premiers and 17th in the biggest Evo of all time. Not to mention top 8 in 4 ranking events. And last year he got top 8 in 5 ranking events and 3 premier events, including 3rd place at a premier.
Why is everyone pretending that Phenom has not always been a good well placing player even before he picked up Karin?

G.O.T Asc have seen old matches bro 2016 ,2017 ,2018 cpt and other leagues. He always come back from almost loose game like loosing set almost 2-0 and all but he never gives up like that
