The skipping girl on the Vinegar Advertisment. I first saw that in about 1970 as a 6 year old boy. Nice to see that some things stay for so many years 👍
@@tressteleg1 Yes i will be in March next year in Melbourne, 42 years after i left this city. I can only stay for 3 weeks and not for longer as i first planed. So i can see in Melbourne and a little bit of Victoria, but the rest of my plans for other places in Australia is cut.
@@peterausfranken Thanks for the update. It’s a pity about your limited time. If you have not been to Ballarat or Bendigo before, they can both be easily done by train as day trips from Melbourne. While Melbourne is the biggest, its operation is just as much hit and miss as it was when you left 42 years ago. Gold Coast shows how it could be done, and it’s probably possible to do that as a day trip as well. Keep me up-to-date with your movements. Maybe I will be in Melbourne in March.
@@tressteleg1 3 weeks for Melbourne seems a long time, but it will go quick. First there is Jetlag and we are here 9 hours after you. We have a Flat im St Klida near to the terminus of tram route 12. A good place to see Melbourne with public transport. For about two or three days we will rent a car for trips around Melbourne were public transport is not so good. My first time driving on the left side of the road😉
@@peterausfranken I’m sure you have your plans just about worked out. I usually stay in an apartment at St Kilda junction. Before I stayed at Rydges just across from the 12. If you would rather discuss these things via email rather than tell the world, let me know.
I’m pleased you liked it. Plenty of sunny days during my February visit. I was happy to drive the A class. They were the only trams we had for the light rail when it opened in 1987 and 88.

I don’t know what is the part of the video you are referring to, but mostly NS = Normal Speed which for trams is mostly the speed limit of the road traffic there.
Well you are about 30 years too late to catch up with me driving trams. I’m happy to meet up with my viewers but unless you come to the Gold Coast, I won’t be in Melbourne until sometime after Christmas.
@@matthewmassarotti2596 Most visits I go to Ballarat to catch up with an old friend who is in the workshops there, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, I forget which. He gave me sly drives of his Ws when at Camberwell in the 1960s.

What is the place named vinegar?
Nowhere. It was purely a cooking product.
the skipping girl on the vinegar sign is a melbourne icon but i dont know if was on that site or if it was moved there from somewhere else
What is n s mean and what’s the speed limit of that

Well the a class are cool but the motor is is like vibrating
Well I did notice a small wheel flat if that is what you are referring to.
Do you know me? I was the one who commented on your tram vid To Glenelg
@@classaventra Well that video was several weeks ago now, and several people commented so I don’t especially remember.
Thanks Richard. Been a while since I have seen so many A class on one trip.
