Having politics be a special interest can be really hard tbh. So many people don't want to talk about it, OR, they do and agree with me but don't have the energy to do it as much as I do. I've been trying to focus on my other special interests to help, but man it's hard.

There are requirements for the snags and old trees you have to keep in order to protect species, and clear cuts like the ones demonstrated in the tiktok are rotated around. The fact that we are NOT logging and not burning regularly a lot of the habitats is what leads to controlled burns or wildfires getting out of control. In terms of climate change, if you keep trees at peak production, which is usually cutting after 50 years, and you thin it between then, theres less chance of wildfires that will permanently damage the stand And The trees are producing more oxygen because they're growing faster.
The idea that the wilderness needs to be untouched as a romantic ideal erases the fact that There was less old growth forest in America BEFORE it was colonized, because Native Americans manages the land and wildlife extensively.
It's more complicated than people think, talk to actual foresters, preferably Indigenous foresters who know how to manage for fires. Just because someone is Native doesn't mean they know how to manage a stand, though.

@@Deneriax actually, pretty much everything is connected, at least in part, to a few issues (being race and disability primarily) it may not seem that way until you do your best to put everything into context of all of that. For example the myth of overpopulation and a lack of resources. Who Is it that there's too many of to get resources to? It historically has been white people who destroy/hoard resources- its wealthy white people owning companies producing the most carbon emissions/ doing it themselves (cough cough, swift, cough cough)

i always end up getting into fights with people or just not thinking before i speak and saying something insulting to them, and i never mean to and i don’t know how to stop it because my brain just like turns off sometimes and says the first thing that comes to mind. i feel horrible about it and idk what to do about it. it happens even when i think i’m being nice or making a joke and it scares me because i HATE hurting ppl and i only want to help but i can’t control it and im just so oblivious to like other ppls feelings. i think it may be linked to the fact ive got REALLY low empathy (or at least i think that’s what it is i’m not really sure i don’t exactly know what empathy feels like exactly) but i wish it wouldn’t happen

I remember when millions of people online took hiatuses from their everyday activities to mourn the Queen: a woman who has done nothing for society but waste millions of dollars worth of the public's tax money for her and her family's uneccesary possessions. without the monarchy, society could benefit a lot with less separation between the global North and global South + the cost of living! thinking about the monarchy to its core be just a bunch of people privileged through family and history - not actually making a change for society or helping the people who need it (the homeless, poor, etc.) and this is coming from someone who's born and lives in a country ruled under the British monarchy. I'm comfortable with the idea of a prime Minister, but I would love to have a Republic government over what we have now.
If a system wants to be treated as one person (as in EVERYONE in that system has agreed) as a form of healing, thats valid! What’s NOT valid is shoving that onto other systems. That’s anti-healing. A lot of systems are completely fine with being a system.
The bad part of Systemhood is the trauma. Focus on healing that. If that includes final fusion or being treated as one person, dope! If it includes lowering amnesia blocks but staying plural, that’s also dope!

What if multiple alters are convinced the body is theirs. It could become a petty fight of “nuh uh!! I was here longer its MINE”, but at the end of the day you have to realize both the host and the rest of the system all live in this body.
Think of it as a bunch of roommates in one house. If the owner of the house got to dictate what everbody should be doing with their personal lives just because “my house my rules”, that wouldnt be fair.
Now certain things can be done by the owner obviously. A roommate isn’t doing their share of the chores? They need to be pushed to do so. Thats the kind of thing that helps everyone in the house out. But if the owner started trying to control things such as “im redecorating all of your rooms and you cant do ANYTHING about it because its my house! >:(“ nobody would be keen on agreeing with them.
It is a consent issue. Like it or not, alters have a space in that body even if it isnt “theirs” necessarily. If youre in a roommate situation you need to communicate with all of your roommates on whats better for everyone living in the house, and it should work the same for systems.

Today at lunch in the mental hospital I'm at rn we talked about climate change and what we can do about it. It somehow derailed (pun not intended) into me talking about how the privitization of our (german) train system was really bad and made it so much harder to fix the problems with the train system.
Edit: The conclusion of the original conversation was that you can't make individuals responsible for climate change.

Hello there, I have a creature!
This time it’s some fish! Ok so, there is the frogfish which kinda looks like a koi fish ( same patterns ) but if you squished it and made it small, does that make any sense? I really like this lil guy though. And then there is the parrotfish, this guy looks very silly. It’s either super colorful or like a neon cyan-blue color depending on the photos you can find, and from certain angles it looks like it has two front teeth. Kinda weird, but I like it. :D

Uncanny valley. Look up design tips on that, you should make them recognizably cute creatures but give them that “off” feeling in their designs!
(Example: a cute kitten that just has grinning human teeth as most of its face)
As someone who likes drawing scary things, I usually add details to certain parts that might not normally have details

we're excited for counseling today, we also got a 224 on our nwea test which we're very happy about!! we got a cut on our finger like two days ago maybe from opening a thing of microwaveable cup mac and cheese. the cut healed and it mildly stings when heat comes into contact with it, our finger is fine otherwise. mala fell head over heels for capsaicin so malasaicin has become a new otp for us! it makes sense cause mala and cap go to scovillia and they're both spice cookies, plus scovillia is in the dragon's valley where mala lives in canon. that also led to a headcanon that mala and chili pepper cookie are related cause mala sauce can be made with chili peppers. we got kinda pissed yesterday that choco bon bon cookie doesnt have big hips despite her silhouette saying otherwise, it would've been cool to see a feminine bottom-heavy cookie so we headcanon that choco bon bon is bottom heavy whilst entirely ignoring her canonical thinness! (also we found out choco bon bon and sour belt are rivals ,,, enemies to lovers chocobelt ,,,,,,) we're gonna do youth group again this summer, it's just too fun to not go back! plus we need to get outside for longer and that's a good way to do that :] capsaicin might have formed but we shall see, stuff's blurry witj the capsaicin-cookie-shaped-blank-slate. - 🎭

Try looking into different productivity methods? Giving yourself a structure with breaks can help you stay focused without burning you out.
There's one (I forget it's name) that my coworker uses where you work 20 min, take a five min break, work 20 min, 5 min break, work 20 min, then take a 20 min break. You get an hour of work done chunked into nice smaller pieces and then get a long break to reset. Repeat as many times as you want or are able to get more work done

With that being said, if I ever have kids the first thing i'm teaching them about it climate change. Im sorry but I refuse to let them expect whole heaps of snow when winter comes around and then they're crushed when it doesnt happen.

honestly, i can't help but not understand why so many people are comfortable and happy having children in this day and age. like, by the time your child is five, they will be taking some sort of consequence of the climate crisis regardless of your class, residence or race (unless the family in question is very rich and sheltered from the real world). I feel sorry for kids being told that they will have great futures, it's like they're being hidden away from the dark truth that we have too many problems in society to actually afford letting children live normal, happy lives if that makes sense

I finished book four of Ever After High! On my way to read American Psycho. I've had it spoiled for me a _little_ bit, but for the most part I don't know what I'm getting myself into and I'm excited.
never thought I'd see EAH and American Psycho in the same sentence but I love it. you have great taste.

American Psycho is a great book, much more terrifying than the movie.
