    You don't need to unplug the battery, you can "disable it for servicing" via the bios option. This will disable the battery and shutdown straight from bios, then re-enable the battery after you plug the laptop into a power supply.

      Correct. Tried it just now when I switched out the RAM and added a 4TB drive. It's not possible to switch it on again until you plug the AC adapter back in. I highly doubt Lenovo would add this option if it didn't work.

    To anyone reading this and struggling to get off the panel. It is a massive pain in the ass!
    START on the back of the laptop, next to where you’d plug in the charger and USB ports. You will find considerably more room to put a guitar pick/credit card there
    Once I got the back portion open it took all of 2 minutes to get the rest. No clips broken, it is very easy but start at the back of the laptop!!!

    • @nben1843
      @nben1843 7 месяцев назад

      You speak the truth. (start at the back, and that it's a massive pain in the ass) Video poster is correct to say the laptop is tough, I got one corner mostly off and just pulled the panel off from there. Would also recommend going to the gizmosliptech video where he shows the back panel, it strangely includes the air vents and most of the ports.
      I managed to get it open in about 10 minutes with a guitar pick, mainly focused on the back. Pried it all off after getting maybe 6 clips or so off.
      Enjoy your laptop guys, take care of yourself.

    Just bought exactly this model from the Lenovo official outlet website (Legion Pro 7 16IRX8H - Type 82WQ). It's marked as certified refurbished. After installing Windows, the computer often freezes and restarts. Unfortunately, I live in Europe and don't have a warranty here. I started diagnosing this laptop myself, and I'm getting a lot of errors after running Memtest86. What do you think? Could the memory be damaged? @Mettsemmel Год назад +1

      Some people say the "64GB max" that you can read everywhere are only because at the time of writing 32GB DIMMs were the largest, because technically, the CPU can handle RAM up to 128GB. Meaning that 2x48 should be working. But if you ask Lenovo they say that 32GB per slot is the maximum. However, even if it is the maximum now, maybe this will be fixed with a future BIOS update? I have the 16 GB, 1 TB variant. Does anyone know if my variant only uses one RAM slot with a 1x16 GB stick instead of 2x8 GB ? If so, can I add another 32 GB stick with a 5600 Mhz?

      There is always 2 slots used in Lenovo Legions. You won't start it as 5600MT/s with 32GB sticks.

      I thought so too, but it was tested by few and 64 are as well recognised by the system. It seems it is an error of some sort by Lenovo when writing the specs sheet.

    Well bad news fellas. I just upgraded my Legion 7i Pro and the RAM upgrade failed. I have the exact same laptop with the same specs. I used the same Kingston Fury Impact 64 GB RAM kit and no joy. Windows 11 crashes BSOD (Blue Screen) multiple times per day. At first all was fine. Windows showed the 64 GB at 5200Mhz speed. Then crashes started and became a daily occurrence. Did a support ticket with Lenovo. After multiple RAM tests, we determined that the RAM was not stable. Failed multiple Vantage and Windows memory tests. Even did a full blown MemTest86 test. FAILED. Took the Kingston RAM out and re-installed the stock 32 GB sticks and now all is stable. Passed every memory test. No more crashes. Contacted Kingston. They are going to do an exchange. We'll see if the new RAM sticks work. As of today I'm editing with my stock 32 GB RAM. Bummer... I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned.

      @@nVuFilms I guess I’m just an unlucky white trash freak. Haha, probably just bad RAM. Or, I have that one laptop that’s a troublemaker, like me! We’ll see when the new sticks arrive. Still a great laptop for video editing and animation. I’ll keep it either way. Your recommendation was right on. This laptop is solid. I can always try the Crucial 64 GB RAM set. Or maybe the next bios update will help.
