Hi Rafa, First let me say that I appreciate your channel and the time you put into all of the information you provide. I just sent my Tyson McGuffin Gen 3 back to Joola. With all of the controversy, the core crush issues, and now it banned from the approved paddle list, I sent it back. I will say though that I did appreciate the advantages of the spin and the power. I found it easy to control after a few hours. Please know that I am in my mid 60's, a former 5.0 tennis player. I coached high school and Collegiate tennis, and I've been a teaching pro most of my life. My question is this, knowing that you played with the Joola Gen 3, could you please suggest a paddle that plays closest to the spin and power the Gen 3 Joola has? As I mentioned I had the Tyson McGuffin 16 mm, I enjoyed hitting with it and would have preferred to have kept it. Your opinion is of great value to me. Thank you for your time.
Thanks for putting this together. Always curious about what these "new" companies are using to get our attention. Thompson paddles are using a "urethane" frame around the core. I'm waiting to see if anyone reviews them. Hoping the "control" market gets more attention. The "power" field is saturated. Holding out for someone to put out a "LUXX KILLER"

Consider myself another paddle geek, like yourself. Have tried to count your paddles on the wall, but lost count. This is my 75th paddle bought in 3 years' time. I am located in Panama, Central America and am an ambassador of Vatic Pro and Ronbus. Have also just formed and opened the New Panama Pickleball Association, founding member and Vice-President. I did get a Phantom and I do have to say that the sweet spot is huge. This paddle also makes resets idiot proof. No real power but the ball placement is unreal so I can jam up anybody.

Additionally, the silicon edge guard and large sweet spot seem to conflict with the stated weaknesses. It might be worth reviewing your script to ensure consistency and clarity. As someone who respects Pickleball Reviewer insights, I believe addressing these points might be important for the credibility of your reviews.
Hi! Thanks for your criticism I think it’s important to note that nothing you have stated is contradictory. The TW of these paddles is average but they have a larger sweet spot - my point being that this could be caused by the silicone edge guard’s capabilities and the metrics are not always correlated as you said. I did state that the *quantum* has issues feeling clunky when swinging and generally when reviewers talk SW it matters for hand speed. This is separate to when you really connect with the ball on a full swing which with these paddles does result in strong plow through. I also believe I was chatting about the phantom and/or spectre in that portion of the video, so I would assume the earlier statements I made which were specific to the quantum to stand there as well. Hope that clears everything up! I will say I had trouble at times switching between all 3 in discussion and may just focus on my favorite in the future to avoid any confusion.

I have been wanting someone to make a paddle with a silicon edge guard for a year and it is here and it works well and helps how I thought it would.
