I left the DBD14mm for the BD. For me it was a night/day difference and one that I was looking for. I’m anxiously looking forward to the BD14mm. IMHO, going from the BD to the DBD 14mm is a step backwards. Not saying it’s a bad thing, it’s just the natural progression of an advanced paddle.

Thank you for your review. Caught between the J2K and the Apollo Sparta's, the fact that I hold my paddle low on the handle helps make my next paddle choice easier.

This is such a joke. Too powerful. Wah wah wah. Someone still has to swing it. Stop being pussies(or dicks). Should be able to be as powerful or spin friendly or control oriented as possible. Push it forward. This isnt stock car racing. And if it is then they should provide the paddles…

Honolulu J2K still better

Do you recommend adding weight to the paddle? Especially, in light of the high swing weight and balance point? I typically add a 3 gram strip at 4 & 8 o’clock to most of my other paddles, including my CRBN 3X which I currently play with. Also, is there any way to verify that they use Toray T700 carbon fiber in manufacturing? I understand that it is not allowed in China. It might be class T700 carbon fiber, but not necessarily the authentic Toray product. Perhaps you can address this with Matt?? Thank you, Rafa, keep up the fantastic work!! 🥊❤

Still has not sell out . Will just stick to my 16mm ruby and order the Apollo with better swing weight n twist weight and almost half the price at $110

I'm suprised that the 14mm BD has less pop then the 16mm. Normally 14mm has more pop. How did you measure the pop?

This looks like an amazing paddle, and I'd love to get one. Unfortunately, I always hesitate to buy paddles that only have 3-month warranties. I know core crushing is a lot rarer these days, but I'd hate to spend $100+ on a paddle only to have it core crush after 4 months (my last paddle core crushed almost exactly 4 months in).

so you can't make a paddle that is to good? I play with someone that has this paddle...do not notice a difference. I like to tease him when he makes a good shot...give the paddle all the credit. Here in Port st lucie Florida I have not heard one person complain about his use of this paddle and there are 24 filled courts with a lot of people.

ive been playing the 12.7 for a month now but would recommend the 14.3 which i also have for 99% of players the 14.3 has an even bigger sweet spot, hits just as hard and is better at resets and dinks .... the twist weught is higher and you will not need a ton of lead tape like you need and Alshon uses on the 12.7.

Rafa, Chorus SS vs J2K??? I’m debating which is the better buy?

Please, how would you compare these two paddles against each other? As a 3.75 player, I depend on a soft feel Control type paddle with great spin, but I also want enough Pop/Power for my serves and put aways. My friend has the Paddletek but I was also thinking of the standard shape Anna Leigh one too. How does that compare to these? (ps - right now I am using the Ronbus Nova R1 and the Pulsar R2 FX. I typically like a 16 mm paddle, but also have used a Gruven/Muven 13.7 successfully.

I have the SS and it was my #1 for several weeks until I switched to J2K (1a) & Azul (1b). I also have weights at the 4 & 8 position to offset head heavy-ness. I had to switch because the swing weight was too high & made my pickleball elbow worst. 😬 Hopefully, Chorus will make a more balance weighted SS in the future & not so heavy. Thanks for the review. 👍🏼

I love this. USAP are such arrogant morons. One of them searched me (hunted me down) on LinkedIn after I made some comments similar to what you just said about the lawsuit as if to intimidate me 😂😂😂 Sooooo I wrote a thoughtful post to one of HIS posts on LinkedIn. He responded and it was fairly cordial but he made a mistake saying I attacked USA Pickleball and was not truthful...or something. I asked if that was him speaking or USA pickleball. They got real nervous after that, deleting everything. 😂😂😂 To summarize. USA Pickleball Fs up, goes after Joola, gets sued, we comment about it as players and USA gets big mad. 😂😂😂 Oh man. They're toast. USA Pickleball is alienating nearly everyone

Thoughts about adding lead tape to the j2k? It seems to have a little less pop than my Ruby, so thinking some lead tape at 4 & 8 may help with that.

Good review, I feel like it is pretty accurate. He sent me one with a lower 113 swingweight, so my specific paddle doesn't feel sluggish in the hand. I also put 3 grams of weight at the 4 and 8 positions. A friend of mine tried it and is pre-ordering after using it for only 2 games. I would definitely recommend it if you are into hybrid all court paddles.

Please explain how "Frequency 368 Hz" at 1:15" is determined, and how it affects play. Thanks for reviewing these difficult-to-find-information-about paddles.
