The Mercedes deserves a Red Dot Design Award. I think the Porsche Carrera 4S and Mercedes GT55 AMG would be a good comparison. GT3 is more like a GT63 AMG Black series competitor. I totally agree with your opinion on interior design of modern cars. The screens have become to much and the loss of beautiful sculpted classical dashboards makes new cars seam simple and cheap ( not this Mercedes). Wealthy people always appreciate a beautful classic clock on theyre wrist, not a tacky digital watch. No wonder why some go for Porsche recreated by Singer.
I'd probably look for a used GT C, (but I'd choose the new GT over a 911, too)... but if I was actually spending on these, I'd go LC500. I'm not looking to win any races. LC500 is a sculpture on wheels, for the long run.
911 may be lighter but the GT looks more aggressive + better interior not to mention Mercedes has the most advanced technology in any car and one of the safest brands on the road. Benz hands down 💯
With the AMG GT 1st gen. and now 2nd gen. AMG ingeneers are giving the 911 a true rival. No matter how great the AMG GT will look, the 911 still has an edge because it offers a MANUAL TRANSMISSION ⚠️. 911 owners are about driving! Coming from a die hard Benz fan.
Porsche has been 'tweaking' and improving virtually all aspects of the car for more years than I care to remember. Handing of the 911, in all kinds of roadway configurations, just can't be beat. How do you compete with something that has the pedigree of this car from a driver's standpoint. Have spoken to pro driver's here and in Europe, and they all prefer driving a 911 over everything else.
When showing the specs you brought up the 911 GT3RS specs against the AMG GT but kept saying you’re comparing it to the GT3. Reason I bring this up is because the 0-60 is 3.4 seconds not 2.7 for the GT3
I have a 992 GT3 Touring and for a drive to a cup of coffee I fully agree. But I think the GT3 is the wrong 992 to compare with. It should be a 992 GTS or a 992 Turbo to be compared. The GT3 is the second best car I ever drove, but it is not suitable for everyday's use like the NEW AMG GT 4WD. Drive a GT3 once in a traffic jam, and you know what I mean 😂. But thank you very much for the informative comparison... helps me with the decision for my new car.
Yes, this is it. I have taken my 911 Turbos, GT3s on road trips, through heavy, slow traffic. Didn't enjoy it. But a quick coffee or dinner run, yes, great fun. But now as an old guy, I want a more chill (585hp) experience, so I went with the AMG.
i'm a BMW fan but holy crap Merc has won in the looks department this gen. BMW lost their damned minds with their designs. The Porsche here definitely won me over after looking at the car. I didn't think it looked amazing at first but it's a timeless look. AMG GT looks so smooth
Porsche 911 without a shadow of a doubt looks lean and perfectly chiseled. Can't believe I am saying all this for 911. Look at the windscreen of 911 in the front 3q image. You can see a large area as compared to AMG GT. AMG GT on the other hand looks bulbous. Porsche as a brand come a long way and they have realized that their every product has to be better than what is offered in the market. luxury wise and spotiness which is their core value.

I'm genuinely surprised he hasn't covered it. I think its a solid design! At first glance it does have some Toyota in the front end, but after watching several videos of it, that's kind of gone away for me.
@@The1SSGrantI agree. With the headlights/light bar it’s tough to get away from new prius/camry comparisons but that roofline is gorgeous. I’m honestly just happy somebody’s still making coupes.
If I have to look at it, I think the Merc is the winner by a hair. But if I’m in the drivers seat then it’s the beetle every day of the week.
For the safety issue with wet tires, I would choose the FR car....AMG GT. Also, I don't like double chin (front adjustable air dam) of 911.
I'd take Porsche 911 Turbo S, AWD, 650hp, 800nm torque, 2.7s to 100km/h. Stunning piece of engineering 😍
911 is chaos on wheels. Benz tried but in order for one to beat a Porsche, you would need a Porsche.
Maybe a ferrari, if they were the same price
@@EnzoNotFerrari21 Which we know is never going to happen
@@GodsloveMuzik Laferrari won against the 918 in a drag race.
Have you ever thought about using an ad blocker in your browser?
Neither, because you can't afford it, and neither can the chat LOL
That V8 is what the 911 is missing, oh and Mercedes does make the best interiors in the market.
The Mercedes all day. I’ve owned a 993 tt and it was great. The new 911’s are a dime a dozen. The Mercedes esthetic is beautiful
911 being 911 and amg gt slowly evolving into a 911...Kudos amg
My dream spec Porsche coast $257,056
Advice: Buy the GT63. The Engine-Sound is fabulous and really loud.
That 0-60 is 911 Turbo S
From rear 3/4 they look very very similar. I’d take both
6:42 Why is this backwards? Porsche begins with a P, not an E.
Porsche all day for me however modern Porsches have way too long front overhang past the front wheel base.
I would kill for a 992 911 but man, amg did a great job with the GT wow.
For me the AMG just feels more alive and looks better tbh
It’s the same shape
I’m not alone finally😂
Porsche has been 'tweaking' and improving virtually all aspects of the car
for more years than I care to remember. Handing of the 911, in all kinds of
roadway configurations, just can't be beat. How do you compete with something
that has the pedigree of this car from a driver's standpoint. Have spoken to pro
driver's here and in Europe, and they all prefer driving a 911 over everything else.
Although the new AMG GT is brilliant in design, but Porsche all the way! Not only for the Beaty of it, but It has soul!
Easy choice for me. The option on getting a manual transmission.
i'm a BMW fan but holy crap Merc has won in the looks department this gen. BMW lost their damned minds with their designs. The Porsche here definitely won me over after looking at the car. I didn't think it looked amazing at first but it's a timeless look. AMG GT looks so smooth
GT3 is more expensive than AMG, If I had this much money I would go for AMG with V8 plus no one can beat Mercedes service centres in every city
I was hoping that Porsche keeps the analog rpm meter, but they won't..
Mercedes-Benz is faster and better car than VW
I truly admire your IQ.
Mercedes looks better in year 1 of the release, the porsche looks better every year after
Both are beautiful but man $150,000+ for Benz is wild $100,000 or less please
The merc is drop dead gorgeous, and I'm sure it sounds fantastic. but I'll take a manual lighter weight 911 that loves SCREAMING at 9000RPM for my own driving pleasure
If it was a comparison between the and a 911 turbo or something I might take the amg but comparing to a gt3!? Gotta be the Porsche surely
Both beautiful car, but the Mercedes is a lot more special and appealing inside and outside.
I think AMG GT Coupe and Ferrari Roma are the best looking cars on sale today. However, why is AMG so heavy?
Benz is still trying to catch up…
They were playing a different game, so they are a bit behind Porsche, but I love the competition. Bring it on! We all benefit.
AMG GT is like scarlet johanson and GT3 is like Elizabeth Olson. I pick Elizabeth all day.
Porsche never depreciate.. i got boxster i love it
Porsche 100%
