- As a clean three foot swell hits the world class surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde, Alastair Sawday heads to North Devon to look at areas vibrant and ever growing surf culture through the eyes of the men that make it happen. He spends time at the local point break with Andrew Cotton, the Devon lifegaurd, boy turned big wave hero. He visits the Gulf Stream Surfboards factor and talks to founder Julian 'Jools' Matthews and spends some time with surfing historian Peter Robinson
I live in North Devon, and in my opinion it's one of the best places in the UK to live... Carl
hi can you message me as i have something to ask you about cornwall
We used to hire plywood belly boards at Saunton Sands back in the mid-late sixties. Dad took us for a drive to Croyde Beach and there were 3-4 long boarders coming in on one wave. We would start surfing when the tide was out and work our way back to the beach with the tide. Hours of fun with just a piece of plywood.
I was there in 1963 and 1965 watching the surfers. Great days. Tiki surf in braunton was the place to be. Rog. Pacific sunset records.

Woolacombe handsdown
Why he says "molto agitato" after very agitated? What's the point in throwing so randomly two Italian words? Ahahhaa
Haha just what I thought. Guardian though... that's what they're like
@@char377 how is surfing agitating either?? 😂
my guy went to Italy once
Surprised the guardian doesn't rail against the white privilege in this video.....
Surfing is a patriarchal construct
No hijabs. Must be a racist area.!
Commercialism ruins everything fun.
