    So awesome. This kind of thing right here is what differentiates older movies from the last few years of garbage Hollywood has pumped out. The movies now have no soul/heart, they're lifeless, passionless, bland in the worst possible way. Totally uninspired. And back then they put SO much work into every detail. Compare a modern movie where it's 100% green screens & CGI to the making of Lord of the Rings, for example. The amount of work and dedication and passion it used to take to make a film was crazy compared to now. And that's why the animated version of this will always be a classic, and the new one is awful. No love or creativity was put into it. (I have to say though, Melissa McCarthy surprised me with her Ursula, she did pretty well, she stands out as the best part of the remake, I think.)

Just watched the new live-action in theaters with high hopes but was disappointed. The live-action movie just can't compare to the original.

    One of my biggest issues with the new little mermaid is the fact that the movements are so odd looking. I get that the CGI is probably to blame but this talented actress is so expressive, her movements so fun and full of personality and Halle is just..pretty with a good voice. Considering how many people have made it their job being professional mermaids nowadays you'd figure they'd at least hire one to help train Halle for the role or at least give some pointers on how things look underwater. Idk man. Remakes are a good idea until you realise they completely suck all the magic out of the original.

    • @twjr2855
      @twjr2855 Год назад +2

      Where the big problem is they cut corners I don’t imagine they had any water at any point in the making of the new version. They should have actually had her do what Sherri did to be authentic. The other issue is that Hale is not a seasoned actress this was her first movie I think so I don’t think they really chose well. If they wanted a black woman Zendaya would have been a better choice.

    • @AngelofPaz
      @AngelofPaz Год назад +2

      @@twjr2855 I agree that Zendaya would have been excellent, she definitely has the range and expressiveness. Tbh I feel like Disney should have looked at this and realized that yep we're just not advanced enough yet with the cgi where we can make it believable that thess characters are underwater. Then again..Aquaman did it 🤔

      @@AngelofPaz yeah but Aquamans orange suit is unforgivable lmfao. @@twjr2855the real problem is imagining and thinking the worst when facts are available and only a click away. When truthfully you just don't care enough to do so. Halle spent several hours in a real tank in London, and in a real tail on set in Sardinia for filming. The dance scenes were choreographed by the best dance teams available during covid. And the movie itself was done with so much love and care that it wasn't even ready until a couple of weeks before it hit theaters. She was 18 when she filmed it and 23 in May when it premiered. And lastly, Disney did not want a "black" Ariel.. all of the concept art for the movie features Ariel of a pale complexion. Who they chose was Halle, seasoned actress and Grammy nominated song writer and award winning singer. The first to audition and only person to leave a lasting impression. She is Ariel now, not the first. Won't be the last. BUT... she was hand chosen to audition by the original director no one else can say the same.

      @@davydukes8391 you are so full of it! Why do you think they hired a diversity person? They wanted a black Ariel to claim their diversity card. Why do you think they made a Hispanic Peter Pan and a black Tinkerbell. Oh let’s not forget the black blue fairy in Pinocchio. Sorry talent didn’t get them their job it was diversity. If talent is what it took to get the job Emma Watson would have never been Belle so spare me your lies to cover Disneys ass. They saw gold and chose color. These are cultural stories not cash grabs you can play games with. They could have made new stories and we would have been perfectly fine with it
