Your Surround Sound system should have a Passthrough mode, where you dont need a HDMI Switch, maybe you can get the sound directed to the tv through the Surround system. If not, you can switch to Center Speaker, its always better than the build in speaker in almost every TV. The PS turns on with the Controller, if you want to play you have to get the controller in your hand. Problem Solved. =)
Sure, with 8 devices it is a problem. In your Video we just see 4. And with 4 Devices you dont need a splitter on a Sound Receiver with 4 inputs. My Receiver have 4 too. Thats enough. 2 PCs (1Server, 1 ASUS Vivo, 1 RPI/Kodi and a WiiU. Dont need anything else. =)
I have 2 switches, and a sorta old fashioned but works great receiver, but my Harman Kardon released when HDMI was only a video signal, so my receiver can accept the HDMI say from my PS4 slim, but the slim has no audio out except from the single HDMI which my receiver can't seperate. So I have a HDMI switch with SPDIF out. Basically the single HDMI runs to the switch, the out on the switch goes to receiver HDMI in and SPDIF out to SPDIF in on the receiver. It allows anything hooked up to the switch to pass as optical audio. It was the only way I tried and was successful, add to that 2 in 1 out on the receiver and 2 in on the TV I'm limited to add one. The switch I have is 5 in 1 out and within the next 2 weeks I plan on getting a 4 in 2 out switch as I'm going to be getting a bigger TV, the switch I have is almost identical to the image and I can't complain, it's a bit of a pain to work around but not overly complicated now that I know beforehand what I would need. One day i'll upgrade my receiver, but for a half decent Harman Kardon your still paying over $1,000.
Are you assuming that we are "Very familiar" with both IFTTT and Heroku.???? You went into a "BASIC" mode at the beginning and them the part that involve both these techniques; you were very brief. As a result I failed to complete the setup for Google Home. Then I was hoping that PART 2 may help me out....I did not find part 2 anywhere !!!!!
Samir Arishy Due to time constraint it is not possible to repeat every step that is covered in previous tutorials. Please see following tutorial on how to create IFTTT applate. Good luck. ruclips.net/video/c4CC1dMFg78/видео.htmlt=8m29s
Thanks for the tutorial. I wondered if we can get Ingredient from Google Home and use it through webhook to increase or decrease volume by certain level. If you could make some tutorial on it, that would be great. Thanks again
Thank you for this video. I am going to try to set up a similar system. I downloaded all libraries from Github and I did the Heroku setup. I'm having trouble locating the sketch you used in the video. Where do I find that?
hey men how are ya, really love your videos and projecs and can you please make a video for this project on amazon alexa, itied and ran into some bumps.
Dear Sir Thanks You for your innovative Video and sharing with us making a lay persons like me to understand the concept well explained. In regard to Play station (3/4) the remote control work through Bluetooth and not through infrared. In PS3 there is a setting when you select the select hdmi input on your TV for PS3( the PS3 automatically get on.)
Alexa Osd You are right but you may have skip the part where I am mentioning using ESP32 that has built in bluetooth. I also mention that Sony does not allow 3rd parties to switch on PS 3/4 from bluetooth. I do have a work around that I will share once I do the PlayStation tutorial. Thanks for your feedback.
Dear Sir you are right please don't take it in bad way. I am not trying to teach you. But i am learning from you. You are my Master. I just gave feed back, i have passion for home automation with lesser budget that i learn from you (i have not learned any electronics but have some knowledge from youtube) . Thank You very Much Sir. God Bless you. There is your video on HeroKu app. i please request you, If you can do one more video because may be dashboard Heroku app is changed i was not able successfully deploy Heroku app. if you send me your email address on osmail@rediffmail.com it will be great help. Thanks once again
Alexa Osd You don't need to apologize my friend. I am learning a lot too. You will see here many people are correcting my mistakes and helping me to get better. I don't know everything. I am just sharing with you wherever I learn. I will take a look at Heroku issue and get back to you soon. Can you give me the tutorial number?
Hi thank you for posting this, love your work! I have the same nodemcu board and same IR transmitter, using same libraries, I can't get my IR transmitter to send the right signal, I'm using your same code "irsend.sendSony(0xa90,12,3);" as I have a Sony TV and I got the same IR codes as you do. BUT then when I test by reading the raw data of the remote and the IR Led, I get two different signals (sony remote is raw,26,38 and the signal the LED sends is raw,101,38). the same line of code and led works perfectly on my arduino UNO. Any idea what my mistake could be? Thank you
firts let me tell you thank you for this videos I saw the most of them , I did all the steps but in the end I have this mensages ets Jan 8 2013,rst cause:4, boot mode:(1,6) wdt resetI´m from Mexico and I couldn´t to find the simililar IR reciber and emmiter , could be the reason of this mensage? (I will used a LG tv , but I donloaded a app on my cell in order to have the same IR signial like this video(Sony IR signal), but does´t works(the IR from my cell signal works because I did the test in my tv) ) thank you in advance for your support
The journey to your Channel is like a treasure hunt; whenever I have a problem you kindly put me in the right track...Now I am very comfortable of your workflow and I managed to do the steps as instructed . Two points I am shaky on: 1. Once I deployed your app to Heroku, and give it a ID (instead of alexagoogleifttt) and I got the message success. Tried to test it I got errors....The log did not help me at all because it is referring to the python script. How Can I make sure the test is OK ? 2. I did only one IFTTT to turn on tv just for testing and made sure it is on, The DOT could not find tv as a device. The Serial Monitor on the arduino side displayed the following: Connecting to Connected to wi-fi Enabling IRin Enabled IRin Connected! Got data Command is not recognized! Sending response back pm open,type:2 0 Disconnected! Connecting... Connected! Got data Command is not recognized! Sending response back This happened without me "saying" anything !!!! Your support will be greatly appreciated
Samir Arishy Arduino serial output looks good and it means that your ESP device is talking to Heroku. If dot can't find you IFTTT template then it looks like you Amazon Alexa account is not linked with your IFTTT account. Please relink it.Good luck.
Hey Thanks for the Video, very nicely described. It tried it but my IFTTT applets are giving "Applet skipped" error, Unable to make web request. Your server returned a 503. I checked Herokuapp build log, it's says "Python app detected ! The latest version of Python 3 is python-3.6.4 (you are using python-3.6.3, which is unsupported)." Is it because of difference in python version, IFTTT is not able to connect with Heroku. Please help.
Hi, i have made changes and redeploy, now there Herokuapp shows correct version but when i trigger command at echo, IFTTT still says "Applet skipped Unable to make web request. Your server returned a 503" Si there anything else where i can check for any errors
Hi Again, i found this log in Herokuapp any clue, what should i check..... "2018-01-28T14:26:41.714050+00:00 heroku[router]: at=error code=H13 desc="Connection closed without response" method=POST path="/" host=alexafortv.herokuapp.com request_id=0754c8b5-5e8c-491a-ae63-faaa3f0535a9 fwd="34.226.190.192" dyno=web.1 connect=0ms service=38ms status=503 bytes=0 protocol=https"
No, here is the detailed msg dhcp client start... ip:192.168.1.17,mask:255.255.255.0,gw:192.168.1.1 Connecting to Connected to wi-fi Enabling IRin Enabled IRin Connected! Sending response back But i received this msg only once just after flashing the NODEMCU.. if i disconnect and reconnect it, no msg reflected in console window, is it fine ??
i have a problem, my IR emitter do not send any signal (so i do not see any blinking through the camera). Can you help me. in addition, there is probably a error, which is shown in the serial output "[WS][0][sendFrame] ------- send massage frame ------- [WS][0][sendFrame] fin: 1 opCode: 1 mask: 1 length: 23 headerToPayload: 0 [WS][0][sendFrame] text: "heartbeat":"keepalive" [WS][0][sendFrame] pack to one TCP package... [WS][0][sendFrame] sending Frame Done (1263us)." Thanks, i don't know, what should i do?
TK EDITS It sounds like your device is unable to connect to the network or the internet. Make sure your Heroku app is deployed successfully and your esp device is connected to it.
i am getting always the same error in the IFTTT App now, Unable to make web request. your server returned a 503. the build of the app shows me that message ! The latest version of Python 3 is python-3.6.4 (you are using python-3.6.3, which is unsupported). ! We recommend upgrading by specifying the latest version (python-3.6.4) /// Thanks for your help
Arnab Bairagi Please look at the following file on GitHub. You need to use LG function. sendLG(uint64_t data, uint16_t nbits, uint16_t repeat) github.com/nassir-malik/IOT-Alexa-GoogleHome-GameRoom_Automation/blob/master/Libraries/IRremoteESP8266/src/ir_LG.cpp
I tried the Harmony Hub but it's not flexible with activities, If you want to change from watching a DVD to a set top box it has to turn the amp and TV off ...then back on again with the new input.

How is the efficiency of the IR transmitter? Does it have to be directly in front and close to the tv?
Gibran Hafeez It similar to the original tv remote. It works when tv is in line of sight.
Thanks for the tutorial. I wondered if we can get Ingredient from Google Home and use it through webhook to increase or decrease volume by certain level. If you could make some tutorial on it, that would be great. Thanks again
Harshal Nagpure I will take a look. Thanks

Oops. Nevermind. I found it.
Dan Basye It is on IR_Recive_Send_Remote_Sony_ESP8266.ino
Very super!. I don't have Google home can't I use alexa (echodot)?
You have to write a custom skill for Alexa to use this sketch.
no problem thanks.

I am not sure what is the issue. Try using different pins.
Good. what type ir emitter module ? Thanks for videos. :)
Budi Rizal You can use any 3 to 5 volts module.

leonardo amaro I am not sure what your question is
I'm sorry , my question is .. what's means this message... ets Jan 8 2013,rst cause:4, boot mode:(1,6)
wdt reset......
leonardo amaro Your board is crashing for some reason. Try to use better power source. If you are still having the issue it may be due to the code.
if the device that i want(to recieve the signal from) to capture is unknown, then the irsend.
TheMutedGuy Use raw function.

This can work with Siri? Thanks
It can, If you can make a HTTP post request from Siri.
Netmedias Hi, if you do it for me; what cost would it have? With Siri. Thank you
Alexander Rincon I will take a look once I am done with my current workload. It may be a while before I get to it.
Netmedias Hi. Thank you so much. I will be pending
Netmedias, How to control multiple devices with one ESP? how to control multiple ESP connect to server at the same time?
Nguyen Tuan Anh tutorial coming soon. Stay tuned. Thank you
thank you. What devices you use to record this video?
awesome🤗🤗🤗🤗 you are great
pradum mishra Thank you
How do i know the bit for lg remote
Arnab Bairagi Please look at the following file on GitHub. You need to use LG function.
sendLG(uint64_t data, uint16_t nbits, uint16_t repeat)
github.com/nassir-malik/IOT-Alexa-GoogleHome-GameRoom_Automation/blob/master/Libraries/IRremoteESP8266/src/ir_LG.cpp
Maybe an android app to use as a remote?
Nathan Good I do have that on the to-do list. I am not sure when I will get to it but next tutorial is coming soon. Thanks
Netmedias thanks for the reply. And just to let you know you're videos are amazing. Well done.
just use a harmony hub
Thank you for the suggestion.
I tried the Harmony Hub but it's not flexible with activities, If you want to change from watching a DVD to a set top box it has to turn the amp and TV off ...then back on again with the new input.
