About the album, I tried making a playlist of it in a different sequence, and it goes: The Evil has landed Head like a haunted house Fortress Un-Reborn Again Hideaway Domesticated Animals Feet don't fail me The way you used to do Villains of Circumstance And it worked a lot better.....so, just a suggestion
This is one of those odd bands that sound better live. Not to mention that it’s fun watching Jon play. He beats them drums like they owe him money!!!🦾🤘🏻
Queens of the Stone Age is the only band I've ever seen that consistently, one hundred percent of the time, sounds just as good live as their records do... It is absolutely unheard of. Queens of the Stone Age May well be the greatest rock and roll band of all time... And Josh Homme is the love child of Elvis Presley. Literally. Do the research.... Read my next comment I'll explain...
I don't know why people hate on the Villains mix. It was clearly intentionally done. It gives it a unique sound and it makes seeing them live even more worth it. Saw them with Royal Blood and both of them created a wall of tasty sound
The only difference is, Nick's screams we're natural. Mike as you can see has two microphones on a stand, One is using an effect which you can clearly hear at the very last second of the video when the Music Stops :) I love Mike, but when it came to belting it out, Nick was the man
Homme really put together a monster lineup, especially as they can replicate everything live without having to have a ten piece stage band and/or backing tracks. That’s really amazing in my book.
Today is the day, bewilderness Comes to reclaim everything Burning bridge lights up the sky Zip your lip until you've picked a side You get right up then sit back down The revolution is one spin 'round You get back up then sit right down A revolution is one spin 'round All for one, all for naught Perish, baby, perish the thought Beat the kids to the punch You've got heart, I'll have it for lunch You get right up then sit back down The revolution is one spin 'round You get back up then sit right down Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, we all fall down Tell me, where's the goddamn gold? Gold Pretty pets, once were wild Domesticated love slave, give us a smile You got a number, is it the same? Who you belong to? You feral or tame? (Probably tame) Tell us where you keep the gold (For what?) We wanna help you rule the world (I think not) We won't tell a single soul (So they all say) So tell us, where's the goddamn gold? I'll tell you where the gold is It's in the ground You wonder where's the reason? It's in the lost and found I'll tell you where the gold is It's in the ground You wonder where's the freedom? In the lost and found Still not found I'll tell you where the gold is It's all mine Mine Get right up, kneel and bow Where's your revolution now? Get back up, sit right down Tears of gold, drink them down Get right up, kneel and bow Shrunken heads parade through town Tears of gold, drink them down Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, we all fall down
Who ever produced Misfit Love and or Smooth Sailing should redo this album. I was so hopeful that Mark would capture the magic but I feel he just contained it.
alex chaidez Ronson must've pulled the mids all the way down. The album's sound quality is directly proportional to the response range of the speakers it's coming through
Although I didn’t even give this album a chance till last year, because at first listen I thought it sucked. Other than the actual production of it, I think it might actually be their best work! I think it was just so different from “Clockwork” that at first listen it sounded lame to me.
Josh Homme was born in the 1970's, to his parents, who happened to be long time Elvis Presley fans. Now you have to understand the 1960s there was a lot of sexual liberation, and the concept of free love was born. By the 1970s the teenagers that birthed the concept of free love, had grown up into their twenties and thirties, had bought houses, and had careers, cars, mortgages, and we're having children... During that decade they had things like orgies, and "key parties," on a regular basis, as the free-love hippies now had money, and their own homes, and with the privacy of these homes, the adult hippies traded partners with their neighbors on a regular basis. It was completely socially acceptable then... This afforded the opportunity for the now adults hippies to execute their free love, in the privacy of their own homes, birthing the concept of the "key party." Key parties were a trend in the 1970s, where the whole neighborhood would attend one house, drop all of their car keys into a fish bowl, and then each person would grab one set of car keys. Whoever car keys you got they would switch partners with that person, for the night, and then everyone would retreat to their separate bedrooms, to sleep with each other's wives and/ or husbands. This was a popular trend in the 1970s, and they were relatively common, remember, these were the hippies, only adult s now, with the privacy of their own homes, still believing in the concept of free love... So what does all of this have to do with Josh? The year that Josh homme was born Elvis Presley had a residency in Las Vegas, and was living in Las Vegas, only three hundred miles from where Josh homme's parents lived. It stands to reason that his parents, longtime Elvis Presley fans, would drive this straight line from Northern California to Las Vegas, to see Elvis Presley perform, from time to time. Being the 1970s, it is not unlikely that if they were to show up at enough small venue Las Vegas shows, eventually they would get to meet, and possibly even get to know Elvis Presley. Being longtime fans of Elvis and attending numerous shows, as they were so close to their own home, Josh's parents would likely end up backstage with him. Being that it was the 1970s and key parties, orgies, and free love were commonplace and socially acceptable, it would not be beyond reason to think that they had an orgy together at some point, especially being as Elvis was an extremely charismatic rock star, who could basically have any of his fans in bed, at will, and they were huge Elvis fans... Then Josh was born, three years before Elvis died, only three hundred miles from where Elvis Presley lived, being the only child that his parents ever had, and he just happens to turn out a musical genius who has the same hair, the same cowlick in his hair as Elvis, the same weight in his stomach and around his chin as Elvis. The exact same face, the same raised lip when he sings, the same gyrating hip movement when he performs as Elvis. All this, and just happenes to be a musical genius?... Being born three years before Elvis's death, 300 miles from where Elvis lived, to parents were longtime Elvis Presley fans, and most likely attended many of Elvis's Vegas residency shows? Being the only child they ever had, and he comes out looking, sounding, and having all the same talents as Elvis Presley?.. It completely stands to reason that Josh homme is an Elvis Presley love child... He needs to meet one of the Presley children, and)or grand children, and find out for sure...
Whoever mixed the audio on the video rules. it sounds great. But listening to these on the KCRW website, the mix is absolutely horrible. It's like someone scooped all the mids from 3kHz to 12kHz.
Just saying...is this a Stolen riff from the film 'BEE MOVIE'????? definately!!!!! unless josh wrote the score to this film too!! Listen to the lyrics to this and it's not too hard to imagine Josh plagiarising the main riff and then being inspired by the film itself to write the amazing lyrics too. HONEY = GOLD
The sound that Jon and Mikey are making is the gold.
I love it when Homme looks like he already had a bottle of Jameson.
rtzqwe I don’t think I’ve seen a performance where he doesn’t.
He's more of a tequila guy
Or vodka...just saying...
Troy Van Leeuwen..
Fretting note for solo and slide the note at the same time.. 👏
that's a master move
timestamp??
Troy brings a whole lot to the table.
The thing about this whole album is that the all the live recordings sound better than the actual album.
Believe me. The previous mix of this by KCRW wasn't.
Record sounds better on cd. Then mp3 & cheap headphones
Mark Ronson really fucked this album up.
About the album, I tried making a playlist of it in a different sequence, and it goes:
The Evil has landed
Head like a haunted house
Fortress
Un-Reborn Again
Hideaway
Domesticated Animals
Feet don't fail me
The way you used to do
Villains of Circumstance
And it worked a lot better.....so, just a suggestion
Ronson didn't do it any favours, but the songs were generally weaker than Like Clockwork.
Jon Theodore appreciation post.
what post?
yeah dude
He is top
...and SO HANDSOME
big biceps
This is one of those odd bands that sound better live.
Not to mention that it’s fun watching Jon play. He beats them drums like they owe him money!!!🦾🤘🏻
Wow the remix rocks! And Mikey's scream at the end is just so badass.
Mikey screaming ❤❤❤❤
Caught them live in London recently - seriously best band live, so so good
And this audio sounds amazing, great job by the mixing team
Queens of the Stone Age is the only band I've ever seen that consistently, one hundred percent of the time, sounds just as good live as their records do... It is absolutely unheard of. This band is far ahead anyone at the moment.. they merge beautifully!
i love being able to hear troy and mikeys vocals fully
Who the hell watched this and said "thumbs down", they probably still have their mom cutting crust off their pb&j's.
Love when john comes in with the Drums, this is so fucking great.
This is so much better live than on cd wow
I was on a road to my home whild listening this. and it's so good that the smile is constantly on my face entire time.
How can I like this more
Please remix the entire performance. This is so much better. I was bummed with the original uploads but this is great
They should remix the actual album amirite
I love this song!! The bass is the best part of the song.
Those guys live are just a treat, no matter what time of day!!
Now I want a Villains live album or what would be pretty cool too, a basement session from this album
I don't know why people hate on the Villains mix. It was clearly intentionally done. It gives it a unique sound and it makes seeing them live even more worth it. Saw them with Royal Blood and both of them created a wall of tasty sound
Last album with this lineup is fuc**ng amazing. Even better live. Saw them 2 times on this album's tour! 💙
My god, this is such a fucking badass song. 🙌🏽
really like the bridge in this track, well done queens.
Lets be honest Mike howls even better than Nick did at the end of this.
Backing vocals towards the end of this track are fucking amazing
They sound about the same tbh, just wish Josh could let Mike take lead vocals on Millionaire when they play it live.
Benny Andejetz josh wouldn’t do that because he knows I️ would faint.
The only difference is, Nick's screams we're natural. Mike as you can see has two microphones on a stand, One is using an effect which you can clearly hear at the very last second of the video when the Music Stops :) I love Mike, but when it came to belting it out, Nick was the man
Fuckin right. Bone chillin
It's great to be alive!
Didn't realize Jon Theodore of Mars Volta "Deloused" fame now was in this band. Hell yeah.
has been since Clockwork too! great fit if ya ask me
Homme really put together a monster lineup, especially as they can replicate everything live without having to have a ten piece stage band and/or backing tracks. That’s really amazing in my book.
Today is the day, bewilderness
Comes to reclaim everything
Burning bridge lights up the sky
Zip your lip until you've picked a side
You get right up then sit back down
The revolution is one spin 'round
You get back up then sit right down
A revolution is one spin 'round
All for one, all for naught
Perish, baby, perish the thought
Beat the kids to the punch
You've got heart, I'll have it for lunch
You get right up then sit back down
The revolution is one spin 'round
You get back up then sit right down
Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, we all fall down
Tell me, where's the goddamn gold?
Gold
Pretty pets, once were wild
Domesticated love slave, give us a smile
You got a number, is it the same?
Who you belong to?
You feral or tame? (Probably tame)
Tell us where you keep the gold (For what?)
We wanna help you rule the world (I think not)
We won't tell a single soul (So they all say)
So tell us, where's the goddamn gold?
I'll tell you where the gold is
It's in the ground
You wonder where's the reason?
It's in the lost and found
I'll tell you where the gold is
It's in the ground
You wonder where's the freedom?
In the lost and found
Still not found
I'll tell you where the gold is
It's all mine
Mine
Get right up, kneel and bow
Where's your revolution now?
Get back up, sit right down
Tears of gold, drink them down
Get right up, kneel and bow
Shrunken heads parade through town
Tears of gold, drink them down
Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy, we all fall down
best live band ever
Best song on the album
Who ever produced Misfit Love and or Smooth Sailing should redo this album. I was so hopeful that Mark would capture the magic but I feel he just contained it.
alex chaidez Ronson must've pulled the mids all the way down. The album's sound quality is directly proportional to the response range of the speakers it's coming through
you mean Alain Johannes. He did lullabies and era vulgaris. Also in Them Crooked Vultures
take the cd as a hint
Although I didn’t even give this album a chance till last year, because at first listen I thought it sucked.
Other than the actual production of it, I think it might actually be their best work!
I think it was just so different from “Clockwork” that at first listen it sounded lame to me.
The mixing is super good nice work to Hutch or KCRW or whoever mixed this
So funky
Jon is a madman
Zero Dislikes for this awesome performance!
Mi tema favorito del disco!
Eqd dirt transmitter for bass is so good for this kind of song

Good grief, write a book.
Was Dean just not there or?
yup, this sounds much better than the original tune - just because the bass was mixed without sounding like a ingeniously eq-d fart. :(
I think the bass sound from domesticated animals is better through the album version but this live version is also good
Bee Movie!
I feel like listening to King Crimson
I hear Primus sounds like King Crimson too... what would be the best starter album to listen to King Crimson?
I don't like the new qotsa but if they play like this live i will go to every concert
fukn A

Check out a new band called Pioneer Salesmen
Josh appreciated the wrong south yorkshireman.
12 people don't know wtf is up.

Miss Nick Oliveri!
