I had a mock test at 40 hours and even then i didnt have confidence. I then did 20 hours in 2 weeks to be test ready and DVSA cancelled it. Got another scheduled a month after in a new test center so i booked 14 more hours in that month to prepare. It was a blessing in disguise because the area is further from me and there are higher speed dual carriageway and slip roads and my driving got more refined and confident.

Mayhe your instructor might have thought you wanted to slip the clutch when already moving, known as riding the clutch. This puts extra wear on the clutch and throwout bearing. If you add enough power while riding the clutch that it starts slipping, you can overheat the clutch or prematurely wear it out, and that's what you want to avoid. Off the line? It's encouraged and go right ahead, unless you have a low enough first gear and you don't need gas to get going without stalling.

He would allow me to roll backwards down a hill bear in mind it was my first week of lessons so I was still trying to learn the gear stick etc and feel somewhat comfortable in the car. I would rather do the test and fail than lose the money, since it is experience and you get an email telling you all the faults you were making.
The average is definitely less than 50 hours. That instructor was just taking her money for all she could get.

However, he felt offended and insulted if i asked what i wanted to work on the most or i want to go somewhere and learn something new. He felt so offended, he would insult me by his emotions. One time i asked him a simple question, he was showing his anger, rudeness towards me just for something that i asked. He told me that i should get my own car, and he will be in it, he won't use his because he pays insurance and all that stuff. I paid him to teach me not him telling me to use my own stuff he was really rude. Whenever i do a mistake on my driving, he would call me names such as "what's wrong with you man" "man" he was showing pure aggressive towards me for no reason. I also must have accumulated over 100 hours of lessons before passing my driving exam! I cannot say anything bad about my instructor, he was very chill, very patient with me. But I am a very nervous and anxious person and I failed my driving exam 4 times. Every time I failed was... very bad. My leg would shake like hell and I had trouble controlling the clutch, I would get so nervous I could not focus, what I was seeing did not register... On the 3rd try, I was so terrified and checked out, I did not even leave the parking lot. :)
In my country, you need 30 hours minimum in driving school to register for the exam. The practical driving test is only about 25 minutes and a lot less complicated than the UK one. If you fail you have to take 3 mandatory extra lessons during a waiting period of 3 weeks and then go to get rescheduled.
After my 4th failed exam I think I racked up around 70-75 hours. That is when I told my instructor I am not going to reschedule as soon as the 3 weeks waiting period ends. By that point it felt like every time I raced to get rescheduled and try again as soon as possible, all I was doing was signing up for more humiliation and trauma. :) So instead of signing up ASAP, for 2 months I took AS MANY LESSONS AS POSSIBLE till I got 100% comfortable behind the wheel and THEN I rescheduled.
By the time I had to do it for the 5th time, while I was still nervous, I had learned the streets of the exam area by heart. It's a lot easier to focus when you don't actually need to focus, because you are performing manoeuvres automatically. At the same time I was going very very slow and taking a lot of time to perform observations.
I almost could not believe it when the policeman told me I passed (with 3 minors I guess you could say). It felt like a dream.
And all it took was 1 year, 5 attempts and around 2500 EUR. :)
If you are in the process currently of trying to get your driver's license, believe me when I tell you that if I could do it, a 38 year old very clumsy very anxious person that never had the slightest interest in cars or driving till her late 30s... anybody can! Best of luck.

I am wondering whether if her instructor's car is Diesel and Pin's is Petrol.
My instructor's car is Petrol and I passed no issues.
Car I bought is a Diesel.
The thing with Diesel is that it has more torque at the low end. So even at a slight downhill or even moderate downhill, you can actually let the clutch go up the bite point and a Diesel car can hold it without stalling or going backwards. Without any brake or hand brake applied.
or stop with the foot brake, and hold it on an inclined. And lift the clutch to the bite point and let go of the foot brake and again a Diesel car will hold it without brakes or gas and it won't roll back or stall.
On steep inclined with passengers, you will have to handbrake gas + bite point and release hand brake.
That is where the Clutch to bite point first before adding Gas comes from.
Now if you do that on petrol, it will 100% stall unless you add Gas first.

Its kinda confusing if you watch videos where people approach crossroad in a 20mph limit road while you have to give way to your left,in Diesel even in 2nd gear i can fly through those roads without gas. If i want to be careful and not fail my test, sometimes i have to gear down to 1 to properly check into the road and be safe.
Now on an uphill i cant start without accelerating, but thats because my lack of experience probably. Mind you i'm hungarian and we have a bit harder test and different traffic rules in some cases.

Even in a diesel you can't get away with no gas on any decent incline unless it's a high torque engine or the computer is adding revs for you (newer cars), and if it's seriously steep like a particularly bad multistory or worse then even those prerequisites won't help.

I had access to a field, and was practising with a petrol car, doing hill starts, and reverse hill starts for just 20 minutes.
I did that before taking any lessons, so I had maybe 3 stalls in 30 hours of lessons in a diesel.

some drivers/instructions teach to put the gas and release the glutch simalteanously. Not just set the gas first then release the clutch. I feel like your method is better as it prevents stalling as you know how much gas to put beforehand so you cant stall on the basis of not putting enough gas. But do you know why people teach it that way?

I asked them why they don’t teach the method of setting the gas first but then they said it’s not good because it will make the car roll back especially on an uphill.

So even though I didn't have many lessons I definitely had plenty of practice. So 100 hours isn't that bad truthfully. I'm presuming you ain't getting practice outwith lessons.
