This is what BBQs are for...you have a strong drink but you sit and eat a big meal and then try and play volleyball or badminton or checkers...you definitely don't try and drive anywhere! You are suppose to chill relax for hours on end. Thank GOD for Uber and Lyft!
I love Long Islands!!! Although I lost my taste for lemon later in life. So I make a variation where I sub the white tequila for white whiskey' then use lime juice instead of the lemon juice. I dial it back to a lil less juice then I use Cointreu just like you did(goes great with the lime). Love your show sir.
I love this channel so much. Long Islands are the best and you made them right! It makes me so sad when people go heavy on the coke. It's just there for the iced tea color!! Anyway, this made my day.
Man tbh I wasn't too sure about subscribing so I watched a few more of your vids and yeah you crack me up and I like all drinks u bring to the channel, besides making mistakes on camera is great without them wouldn't be fun. Got a new sub!!! Thanks!!!!.
UnkleRiceYo coke doesn’t make a Long Island less strong, it just masks the booze, what makes these drinks strong is the 126 proof rum I put in it. But really there’s 2oz or 60ml of booze in this drink, same as an old fashioned
Most places top off their Long Islands with a splash of Coke. Definitely not just a Texas thing ha! Think he was just trying to go for the "white" look so he omitted the pop.
Not an insult here but he reminds me of a fancy Jack Black. 😆🍸👍🏼 thanks for the awesome recipe I used it last year I can honestly say 65% percent of my guest stayed at my place killer drinks. Lol😁
Christopher Pettigrew yes I’ll do a video but if you want to find out right now go to my Instagram account I did an Instagram story on it and the method
I feel that substituting cointreau for blue Curaçao instead of adding it in the end makes the blue color even blue-er but that could be my screen only!
How would grenadine work do you think? If you did add sprite or some kinda lemon lime soda it would be like a Shirley temple I think. Or a dirty Shirley. Whatever it's called. Just the flavor I mean. I know the grenadine will be red as fuck.
Actually I tried it. Didn't have vodka so I did a full ounce tequila. Also used full oz lemon to 3/4 simple and floated 1/4 oz of the grenadine. It's actually pretty tasty. I know people will like it.
Kevin Fager yeah man glad it worked nice to get a little extra lemon in there and make it a little more tart, that was a good call! And grenadine or cherry syrup any of that is gonna work in this drink
So as a long islander I found the whole point of a Long Island is to not taste the liquor and end up on your ass I found my ratios that work best for me and it comes out great is .5 oz of each liquor including triple sec and 1 oz of simple syrup and lemon juice built in the glass and filled with ice and topped with coke I also find the coke is not really a flavor additive more a color variation to make it look like iced tea I also build straight in the glass as well as I find the lemon peel and oil expression over the top is nearly a requirement for taste it makes a crazy big difference and I’ve also recently discovered the flavor of an lit was improved greatly using an anejo tequila (also finally would highly recommend getting hands on triple sec specifically it’s a different flavor profile to cointreau) make this version of the Long Island and I promise you won’t go back primarily because after a few of these you’ll be on your ass and won’t remember anything else
szczepek triple sec and Cointreau are basically the same thing, triple sec is an off brand. Curaçao is also orange liqueur but made with oranges specifically from the island of curaçao. So it’s flavor profile is a little different
Although both Grand Marnier and Cointreau are both from France and both created in the 1800s they are made totally differently. Grand Marnier starts as a cognac base and is macerated with Bitter Oranges, whereas Cointreau is a beet liquor that had oranges from Brazil, Spain and Africa added to it in the still and is redistilled. Cointreau claims to have the most essential oils in their product and the least amount of added sugar. Really Grand Marnier is closer to Curacao because it uses a proprietary style of orange in it's production. It actually used to be Called Curacao Marnier back in the day. Anyway, hope that cleared some things up for you!
szczepek I personally find triple sec to work better in a Long Island than cointreau and definitely can taste the difference also triple sec isn’t really “off brand” it’s not even a brand and is a house old recognized name for orange liquor
Can’t get past the fact you had it set up right to be red white and blue and reversed it so it would be in order for you. Gotta remember you’re filing it and it will be reversed. Not that the order mattered, but since it did to you,,,,, figured I’d speak up.
126 proof, for when you want to...have a really good BBQ
This is what BBQs are for...you have a strong drink but you sit and eat a big meal and then try and play volleyball or badminton or checkers...you definitely don't try and drive anywhere! You are suppose to chill relax for hours on end. Thank GOD for Uber and Lyft!
Jim Beam and Tanqueray are missing a HUGE opportunity to support Uber/Lyft, either openly or quietly.
Love how the fly is jus chillin
The 'modifying ingredients' blunder in this video has given me uears worth of entertainment
Now drink all 3

Nice to see Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum getting an outing. Definitely a decent mixing rum. Beautiful with pineapple juice on the rocks.
Love the video & drink. Don't forget the Triple Sec in the ending title sequence.
Thanks. We wish there was way to reupload fixed videos and hide our mistakes :)
Nice French flag 😉

Andrew Player haha! That’s funny! Totally poured out of order facing camera but in order facing myself LOL

Sean Nelson I thought so to, I’ll make a note to add more
Would that be a barfly?
Sean Nelson hahahaha I was watching this on my tv and had to switch back to my phone so I wouldn’t bother me as much!
I love it ! I can't wait for july!
Not even any coke as a mixer?! Damn these must be strong!
UnkleRiceYo coke doesn’t make a Long Island less strong, it just masks the booze, what makes these drinks strong is the 126 proof rum I put in it. But really there’s 2oz or 60ml of booze in this drink, same as an old fashioned
Coke would also ruin the look but you can add a squirt of sprite or lemon lime soda.
There is also simple syrup in this one
I thought he was gonna add some Sprite As in a regular AMF recipe!
Thanks you Barfly, very cool!
Using old uncle Wray! You tryna kill us
Knew we were here to get fucked up when i saw Wray and Nephews on the bar
I add amaretto, dark rum, seltzer and make it taste like dr pepper
I triple the ratios in my LI ice t and add the strawberry liqueur and uv blue instead of blue curacao. I don’t remember what happens after tho.
wrrr
Do you add a splash of Coke to give it the caramel 'ice tea' look when you're making a normal Long Island? Or is that a Texas thing?
Most places top off their Long Islands with a splash of Coke. Definitely not just a Texas thing ha! Think he was just trying to go for the "white" look so he omitted the pop.

Christopher Pettigrew yes I’ll do a video but if you want to find out right now go to my Instagram account I did an Instagram story on it and the method
Add a stick for the cherry
I feel that substituting cointreau for blue Curaçao instead of adding it in the end makes the blue color even blue-er but that could be my screen only!
J Wray and nephew on deck 🇯🇲
What's the point of double straining to get the ice chips out, then filling to the top with ice?
Ice chips and blocks of ice are two different things.
Did u see the fly
He wanted to be educated
Where did the fly come from
I take it long islands arent your favorite drink to make?

solid contender for longest sentence i ever seen
Sean Danktis punctuation isn’t my best friend
What is the difference in taste between triple sec, cointreau and curacao?

What is a simple syrup I'm honestly confused. Human syrup, dog syrup? Bird syrup? Maybe strawberry syrup?
Its simply half sugar and half water so essentially just sugar sirup, half and half. Mix them in a hot pan so the Sugar mixes nicely with the water
Ooh look! A French flag made of booze!
exactly!
Use Tito’s guys
why does he change every single recipy -_-
