Heyy second time doing your recipes anyways so basically i didnt have buttermilk so i put 1cup of milk and vinegar Now i dont have sugar nor powdered sugar i only have 1 cup of powdered sugar idk how to make the frosting:( but anyways im so excited to try the cake♥️
This cake almost had a muffin like consistency. I think I’d add 1/4 cup oil for a moister cake. The frosting was absolutely delicious although I did equal parts cream cheese and butter. (6oz each) I like more cream cheese in my CC frosting. I left everything else the same.

Hi, u can make ur own buttermilk. Try 1-2 tbsp vinegar to 1 cup milk, stir n allow to rest for 1 min. U'll notice when u stir the mixture it will coat the spoon.
Ok! This was a really good cake! Though, would have liked it if we didn't use poppy seeds. It ruined the entire flavour. The lemon cake part was good, but when you took a crunch of the poppy seed flavour, it tasted like you're having something you don't want. The buttercream also is a winner along with the cake, but poppy seeds could have been replaced chia seeds or flax seeds. More healthy and more yum, (at least according to me :-)) But love the overall cake, Natasha! Thanks again! ~Lucy

They garnish it with a bit of cinnamon.This is really common in P.R. So, when I recreated yours I first garnished it with a touch of cinnamon before I added the strawberries( I did not have rasberries so, cinnamon gave it a nice touch).

See their was a woman who gone to her doctor for something that involved a blood test. They discovered heroin in her blood. The doctor informed the authorities. She had her children removed from her by their local department of family services because of this finding. She faught this vigorously but lost. Unknown to her that those poppy seed begals that she loved was the source of her situation. See poppy seeds and poppy seed oil is whare both heroin and morphine comes from. The authorities discovered that those begals where the source of the root drug for heroin opium came from. They tested those begals and found that drug was present. After that information came to light she was given back her children by the court. The court informed the woman what happened and she then ruled anything with poppy seeds on or in out of her diet. Knowing this I wouldn't touch that cake with a ten foot poll. When I was growing up we used to say grow poppies for fun and profit. What taste does poppy seeds give to food? Is it worth using poppy seeds in any recipe?

This cake has a nice, fresh flavor, but mine turned out a little on the dense side. I'm a beginner baker, so I'm wondering what could have caused that. I did some research, and it sounds like not using room temp ingredients could be the culprit here. My ingredients were on the cooler side (this cake was a last minute idea). I did measure out the flour using a scale, so I ruled that out as the reason. I wonder if overmixing might have caused a dense cake here, too, though I tried to not overmix.
