If you'd like to follow the build I'm continuing the truck content on Rev N Rip Productions RUclips channel!!!
If you eat one too many chips , you’re gonna rub !! Let it ride !!!
Appreciate it! Still under construction lol
😆 im a a skinny dude. My weight don't even make a difference. I'd be lucky if the air bag sensor reads me
Hey I wan’t to know if they are 20x10 and what did you put a 2” or 2.5” leveling kit on the truck, does it rub after the leveling kit or did you have to so some trimming and if so how much? Sorry for so much questions but I want the same for my truck and I’m just looking for info.
I'm way late. But they are 29x10. 2.5 level kit. No rubbing no fender rolling. The tires i got had a few hundred miles on so brand new might barely rub on full turn
35s will fit, people dont realize it all has to do with the offset or back spacing, i have 33x12.5 on 20x12 with -44 offset with no lift, all stock suspension, just requires a full norcal tuck with minor bumper trimming
ALL DEPENDS ON THE RIMS OFFSET
Thats good to know. I was just wing it as I go. Lol.
I've been wanting to see if 255/80r17 (33x10) would fit on a stock Silverado. 255 is 10" instead of 12.5, so about 1.25" less width on either side than the 33x12.5. Stock LT are 265/70r17 (10.5x31.5). I think this video shows me that they'll fit as 1.25" / (1/2^.5) = 0.88" more clearance at 45 degrees on a 10" vs a 12.5". Always preferred tall skinnies or pizza cutters anyway. In 255/80r17 there are Falkland AT4W with 3-ply sidewalls. Wish there was something 3-ply and lighter but keep having sidewall issues, so will probably go with those. KO3 are supposed to be in that size but are not out yet.
The factory 275 60x 20s are 33” high already
32
34x11.5 on 20x10 -29 offset no rub just leveled
I put 32x11.5’s on 22” on my Silverado and no lift kit and no rubbing
How much space do you have I’m thinking about 33x12.50r22
If I were you I would add 2” leveling kit & you would be great.
I did end up doing that. Worked out good
@@MUD365op any rubbing after 2 in level? Did you need wheel spacers?
Didn't rub. I ended up pulling them off because there wasn't enough clearance between the caliper and rims. The calipers are larger than earlier models
Lift from the suspension not the frame
The trick is to start with nearly bald tires.
hahaha
I have a 2018 Silverado and I’m going to install bilestein 5100 shocks in the front an which will give me 2.75 lift in the front I hope that enough to clear the 33 in tire
That should be enough clearance to run them
The stock tires are 275 60 20 which is a 33" inch tire... I think you need to do a little more research on section width , aspect ration etc. the title itself doesn't make sense...yes 33's fit that's the stock tire size!! this rim just has a different offset and is obviously wider.
I have a stock 2021 RST, & going to get 20x10 -12 Rims with 33x12.50R20 Tires. Any idea if this wheel setup with fit on the stock? Or can I do 2 inch leveling kit ? & no rubbing & trimming
You'll need the 2inch leveling kit. It will rub if you keep it stock
I just got a 21 rst 6.2L Z71. Will 285/40/24 on a 10" wide rim rub? That's pretty much the same size as the 20x9s it came with but 1" wider. Would that cause any rub?
275/60/20 is a 33" tire already
Honestly never crossed my mind to learn that 🤯. When I read that for some reason I did it in a Red Forman Voice lol. Assuming you've watched that 70s show then you know what I'm talking about.
Offset on rims I have snow flaxes think there are positive offset like 27 something
One bump and you lose
Your fenders 😂
Lmaooooo. That would suck!
@@MUD365op did your lift or leveling kit prevent the rubbing?
Good job, let it ride
What's ur wheel size and offset? And tire size?
crank the keys a little and make sure you get an alignment
I had them put on with an alignment. But they didn't check clearance from the caliper. It was catching the rim. Had to pull them off
@@MUD365opway too much offset
These models have coils. No torsion bars
Ride wit it
I know you stated no spacer. Did u get different rims and have to use a spacer? If so what size spacer? Truck looks sick 🔥
I haven't gotten new rims yet. The caliper on the 2020 is bigger than previous years so I'm looking for different set now. I was going to try 1/2" spacers. Couldn't find one that was hubcentric. I decided to buy rims that fit better, than to roll the dice on it.
@@MUD365op ya I've got a 2020 at4 and bought wheels and surprise surprise they don't fit. I was told by Arkon that I need 3/8 spacer as well to make them fit. That was after a wheel company online sold them to me with the ohhh ya they'll fit for sure. Now trying to find hub centric 3/8 wheel spacer is just as hard. What a mess. Thanks for your time and word. Good luck with youre build dawg....🤙 stay up
@@caseycech8807 thats about the boat I'm in. Goodluck! I will be continuing the truck build on RevNRipProductions youtube channel. If you want check it out 👍
@@MUD365op So I got 3/8 spacers! Took youre advice and tried the wheels on and long behold they fit. No rubbing on the caliper and there a -25 offset. So now I've got some 3/8 spacers I don't need but my 2020 gmc at4 looks sick with the Arkon Roosevelt on . Very little trimming needed. Only on the mud flap. Might just try a heat gun!!
Sweet!
What’s rim offset like my rims flush with fender
What engine did you get with it?
2.7l turbo
@@MUD365op thought so, sounded like it
What do you think about the factory 2 inch lift? Thinking of getting it as it doesn't void the warranty and is warranted.
Id recommend it. Looks alot better and you gain a little more clearance.
How did it affect ur mpg?
Hey man, I got a 2019 LT and thinking about going with 33's. Did you have to trim or get a leveling kit? Thanks.
I put a 2 inch leveling kit on mine for them to fit. They barely rubbed before the lift. They dont now. I didn't have to trim anything.
I have a 2020 and I talked to the parts manager before ordering and he told me 295/55/R20 (33") is the biggest you can go without rubbing and being perfectly flush with the body
On mine there's a black trim at the bottom of the fender and without the leveling kit it would barely rub that. I'll look at the exact tire size tomorrow.
@@shawnw573 did you have to level with a kit?
@@shawnw573 my elevation came with 275/65 r20 tires. Don't rub. I want the 12.5 so they sticker put a little from the body.
Your Original Tires are 33' inch tires, unless you have the 2wd, How is the Fuel economy? i have the same truck, and im getting 22 miles to the gallon, i don't want to mess that up
Yeah 22-17mpg depending on my foot.lol. yeah the original tires are 33s. I wasn't aware of that until recently
I had my stock Silverado Custom wheels powder coated satin black and I’m thinking about ordering 33 tires. I want to order wheels but I don’t want to add spacers.
If you do a 2 inch lift you don't need spacers
I had the Eibach pro lift kit installed its probably a little over 2 inches set at the lowest point. The kit comes with adjustable struts coil springs and rear shocks.
Nice. How did the stock rims turn out? Do they look good power coated??
Twisted Mudders They left look good. My Silverado came with the black emblem package. I had the front tinted 20%. It’s a clean look
Nice. The tint is on my to do For sure.
After you leveled it, did you need a spacer to clear the brake calipers on the front?
No. I don't need spacers with the 2inch lift kit.
What is the wheel offset you have
It’s going to rub when the tires are new. Looks like a lot of tread worn off.
Yeah they are used
@@MUD365op If you get a level kit for the front, it might bring it up enough for it to work.
I did lift it 2.5inches it clears bit the rims hit the caliper.
@@MUD365op dang it. LOL
@@Sweet68Camaro Yeah it sucked. thats what i get assuming that if it works on a 2018 gmc it will work on a 2020 silverado
How are yalls brakes? Mine feel weak and it is the stock 265 65 18. I imagine the 20s would be worst. Another thing I wonder about is the longevity control arms bushings wheel bearing and tie rods
The breaks feel fine. I have 17k miles on the truck now the breaks need to be replaced but I think thats just because how my wife drives it. Time will tell on the bushings bearings and rods
Or, go with smaller tires
what about adding a spacer for the wheels in the front? did you try that?
I did try that. It pushes the tire more into the inner fender. I would have to put a big lift on it to use spacers on the front. I tried 2" and 1" spacers
Wheel spacers are never a good idea, it caused extra stress on the lugs , hubs and suspension
Agreed. Trying to figure out the best solution. I think lift is the way to go
What’s offsett on the rims
What offset are those wheels? -18?
I don't know the offset
I’m thinking about doing the same thing to my truck. Same truck as urs. I want the same tire and wheel package. Would I need a 2 inch level kit or 2 inch spacers ? What would be better ?
I think i got the 2.5 inch lift kit. Thats what I'd recommend
What is the offset and backspace of the wheels
Man I'm not really sure of the offset and backspace. Bought them used off an 2018 gmc
Offset is found on the inside of the rim
Does the 2.7 have any trouble pushing the bigger wheels and tires or can you tell a difference from the stock wheels and tires?
I didn't notice. But I also wasn't able to keep them on there long enough to really know. The caliper was hitting the rim so had to pull them off
how much offset on those wheels?
what is the offset of your wheels in this video
Look good to me bro
Thanks man!
Would be illegal so why?
Really do like these! Anyone know the rims??
fuel assaults
What was the outcome I'm running 33s on a leveled 2020 silverado it's rubbing
I put a 2.5 inch lift kit no rubbing
Is your truck 2wd or 4wd I have a 2wd
4wd
Wheels are the wrong offset and width
Install a lift kit
Yeah I recently did that. Make a big difference on the Clearance
Are those rims 20x9? Or 20x10?
They are 33x12.50 r20
These wheels look to be 20x10s -24 offset. Judging by how far they stick out
I'm no tire guy. Only know how to read the numbers on the tire.lol. 33x12.5 r20 🤷♂️
Those wheels most likely have a -24 offset. Thats why it just about rubs. If you did a +0 or positive offset wheel. It shouldn't rub.
I don't know much on offsets. I pulled them off a 2018 Sierra they fit on the Sierra so I assumed they would work on 2020 silverado.
Have you replaced your spare with a 33 ?
No. It's still the stock tire
@@MUD365op the stock tires are 275 60 20 which is a 33" inch tire... i think you need to do a little more research on section width , aspect ration etc. the title itself doesnt make sense...yes 33's fit ...thats the stock tire size!! this rim just has a different offset and is obviously wider.
I agree I do need to do some more research. Didnt cross my mind to look up the factory size. Appreciate the info. If I wouldn't have made this video I'd probably never have learned that. Thanks👍
@@MUD365op you're right bro we got to learn some way!
@@MUD365op Or just measured your tire with a tape measure...
A truck should be leveled anyway
Should come leveled from the factory
@@MUD365op Respectfully disagree. The reason to get a truck is to throw stuff in the bed or tow. The reason the back is up a couple inches higher is so when you fill the bed or hook up a trailer, it doesn't look like you're dragging the rear of the vehicle down the highway. Springs are designed for a certain weight, and for them to be higher when not loaded is normal and shows you have room to add weight.
