I do remember Bruno saying that before he and Anderson started working together on the SS album, he was in a dark place. They work so well together because there is a genuine friendship and love between them and it shows on the stage. They are phenomenal and it's a joy to get to witness them as a group in real time.
Yeah. I immediately thought of his friend Phillip Lawrence. He writes with him. He needs brotherly support when it comes to music I guess.
I'm very familiar with Bruno sharing this in an interview. He and Anderson has created a bond over the past 5yrs

I'm beyond obsessed with Silk Sonic. Every performance they one up themselves. This is my favorite performance by them. I saw them in March in Vegas...you gotta go to the show. They added more dates. Money well spent.

Indeed...they need to perform on every award show for the rest of time. This 65 year old can NOT get enough of Silk Sonic. Always been a Bruno Mars fan and Anderson is just making it better. Bruno has a deal with Disney for a musical film. Can't wait for that!

Bruno has been paying homage to different eras in music his entire career. And that's what I love most about him. He's always putting people up on game to how it's done and where it started. I also love that Anderson is becoming more of a household name, even though he's been around for a while and is a complete beast by himself. More people know him now and see how slept on he's been.
Agreed. Very happy for Anderson. He is a phenomenal artist in his own right and this attention and prestige is well deserved for him as an artist.

When you say it feels like they're kids on stage you're spot on. Bruno said in several interviews that recording this whole project felt like being a kid again when you're in the garage working out the parts, Andy on the drums, him on the guitar.

I am 46, so I saw some of those "old greats" back in the day. And I am pretty damn sure they wouldn't simply be proud of these guys, they would be jealous, too. They have perfected EVERYTHING. AND they are SMOOTH AF. Nothing compares. I never thought Bruno could get better than Bruno, and he has, with Silk Sonic. F'ing legendary.

This is my dad & aunt’s favorite song by Con Funk Shun. He played it for her when they went to visit her at the nursing home. She loved it! And my mom thought it was so accurate, she was shocked when my dad & I told it was Silk Sonic after they come back from their visit (I live across the yard from them). She even argued saying, “Their’s No Way,” until I pulled it up for her on RUclips. Lol

Went to the Silk Sonic Concert last week and it was EVERYTHING! Best concert I've EVER been to. I immediately went home and bought tickets to see them again in Aug.

They have brought real R&B back. MJ and the other great artists would be very proud of them. They made this classic song their very own, and the group who made this song first, Con Funk Shun, said that they love it. And that's huge cause the lead singer Michael Cooper did his thing on the original. Dru Hill also did this song, and it is good, but not like this. I'm glad that these fellas are bringing it back.

This is from when musicians entertained us. They played instruments and really would sing! I am so happy that they created there own lane. Also people have forgotten that Bruno was originally signed as an R and B singer but it wasn’t accepted. Now look who is representing R&B. I absolutely love it.

Yours has been the best review of this performance (your first I’ve watched, so far). You touched on everything I thought of, the dancing, which was so tight! Seems easy, I’m a dancer and it’s not easy to do, the costumes, the lighting, the vocals, the era, brought back to a new audience (maybe better, in some ways). You didn’t sing over it, thank you! If you stopped it, it was at necessary points. You really know how to critique!

Silk Sonic has "residency" performing at the Park MGM · until the end of May and beginning several dates in August. I'm sure they will want to tour whenever this ends since they live for live performances.

Dan B Too many to mention, but here are some: Anthony Hamilton, Music Soldchild, Joe, Maxwell, Avery Wilson, Gregory Porter, etc. These artists have grit and their own style. They didn’t just simply learn riffs from other r&b artists. The irony is, BM truly appreciates r&b music; he has studied it, celebrated it and I believe he would agree with me. Please listen to more than pop music to arrive at your opinion.
