Daaaaang. Really really close results. I did so good at Tri-Color too but oh well. Was cool to see that we got Pro Mode though. Still a really fun fest overall and I played for a really long time this time so I'm planning on making a video about this specific splatfest. Regardless, GGs to all teams! :)

Even as a big man fan, I was getting so many kills in tricolour and I was watching my other teammates die
I did so good in tricolour (I won as an attacker and a defender multiple times. Mainly attacker tho)

I played Team Bigman and honestly, a lot of us were rooting for Frye. I was on dozens of teams that cheered when Frye team grabbed the signal, this wayed when yoy attacked their turf instead of Shiver, and at least one memorable try where everyone threw to let Frye have a round.
I think it's really dumb to be honest, that Japan is combined with our pool. We have entirely different internet ecosystems and it just feels bad that no matter what memes, genuine popularity, or cultural stuff might influence our team picks means basically nothing if it doesn't line up with Japan.
If Japan wasn't part of it finding games would be peak idk about u but I always play with japan
i think y'all were pretty petty in tricolors, it's not fun to be ganged up on multiple times when i am in team Shiver it's just real petty -.-

The insane part is despite only making up 17% of players, Team Frye still held their own. Realistically we’ve should’ve been wiped out but I guess we went goblin mode to make it up. Still lost but eh, there’s always next time.

That’s what I do. She is my favorite of the trio, but she doesn’t always have my favorite options. For example, she didn’t have milk chocolate or love during those respective splatfests and I didn’t side with her, but she did have grass during the Pokémon splatfest, so I sided with her that time.
I think we already knew who would won cuz the whole splatfest is oneside... but whatever gg i guess...
It's sad to say, but I feel like people are gonna play Shiver's team just to get more snails from now on...

Even with the 55% majority, team shiver was slacking. Team big man almost made up the difference in all 3 modes.
Shiver was slacking hard in pro. Frye and big man were really doing good in pro battles
we almost won tricolor..
My problem is the vocal minority is the toxic players. So then the teams are at each others throats, and then only 1 idols has a streak. I understand with 2 idols one will win more. But 3 should make it so that an idol only has a streak of 3-4
Not only that, but three options decreases the odds of a streak quite a bit.
I agree with this 100% but I think nintendo has idol bias because shiver is so popular in japan. Then she gets good options because said character is more popular in there home region (im not saying this all is true but it does feel like its rooted down to it imho)
Toxicity is part of the fun of Splatfests. It's intentional. I mean come on, they label the "other side" as the "Bad Guys". It's intentionally polarising.

i just wish they brought region locked fests back, as 50% of the player base is in japan and most of them just vote for shiver anyway. it's not fun to play splatfests if we know who's gonna win all the time

You don’t have to quit just because of a dumb splatfest that means nothing. I rarely play but that’s because work and school is taking too much of my time to actually sit down and play. I had free time this weekend but I played a total of 3 hours in 2 days lol
All we can hope for is for Nintendo to say that shiver isn’t Japanese but a Russian who invaded Japan after the nukes were dropped. Maybe then the Japanese will think twice

The problem is that shiver musn't win if the splatfest were good. Tricolor is not a come back mechanic anymore, it's just more points to the most popular team = leading team.

12 + 18= 30 for big man
So frye and big man could have win this splatfest but no, tricolor sucks.
Sharing the same pain with you as a fellow big man supporter, I was also doing so well in Tri color battles. The numbers were pretty close! Wish the splatfest was longer

Having three teams is a terrible desing flaw from the get go.
Remember those time when marina or calle always won? If thats unbalanced, now what are we going to do with tree?
One team will always Perish and sometimes it doesn't even have a chance to even win anything, the competition is always between 2 teams and the one that doesn't get anything asside from maybe shells (frye here).
And dont even get me started on how the tricolor matches are the second worst thing of this game (nothing will fix the terrible map desing)
It isn't a comeback mechanic anymore, is just makes the winning team even stronger because of the terrible desing of the mode itself, is the reason why Shiver keeps winning and why the splatfest are so bad in this game, is just bad desing in general.
This is so ridiculous, i genuinely put my blood, sweat and tears into this splatfest for frye and here we are shiver wins again woo hoo. What a joke.

I played *so* hard to try & get Frye a win, I'm a little disappointed at the 5 fest Shiver streak but it was still fun 💖
I watched the results and I was so ready for the Shiver win followed by online discourse. I was a Shiver voter btw since she is indeed, my favourite.
Even I didn't expect the massive 55% lead though. In fact, I was thinking there'd be a group that'd try to basically vote for either Frye or Big Man just to try and make Shiver not continue this win streak.
I was laughing my arse off at the win, and especially when Shiver says "Era of Shiver". Dearie, it's been the Shiver Era since before even the beginning of the game's release!

when splatty 3 first came out, I loved shiver a lot, but as time went on and people just took it too far, I started leaning towards the other two
in the story mode of splatoon 3 u could clearly tell that frye was kinda the biggest of the three,, with her stance and how close she was to the camera
and in their newest song for the fame/money/love splatfest, frye was acting pretty demanding, I saw both of those as points to go to frye so I went for frye for the best *leader*
it's a shame that the community simps so much for shiver,, I'm sure if there was more people on the other teams, we would've had a better chance at winning
shiver has a winning streak and it's pretty unfair to those who vote on what they genuinely believe in, instead of just, the idols side

Ive been enjoying my weekend playing the game and i come online to see people complaining and surprised that the most popular character by a mile won the popularity poll. Imagine me being shocked and annoyed that people liked marina more than pearl or something. Some things are just pretty obvious guys.

It really isnt though. The difference isnt like marina and pearl. Shivers "personality" revolves around her being a snarky, self seeking, worse than any other idol brat.

Keep in mind that even if your team loses, you still get rewarded….with sea snails. That’s a reward better than actually winning a splatfest. GGs anyways.
Keep in mind that people are forced to pick shiver for those extra sea snails. Just fyi, people have lost 15 super sea snails if they didn’t pick shiver once since the Nessie vs Aliens vs Bigfoot.

I won so many tri color battles too. I went on a 10 tricolor streak and over all won 50+ and lost about 5 and two of those loses were mirrors. I thought Big Man would at least win Tricolor. Anyways, it was fun tho but it still sucks

I was rushing playing last night like crazy just to catch ruler status. Most of my playtime is dum people making a lot of mistakes.

Do NOT blame Shiver for ANY of this.
She is litreally a fictional character and NOTHING else. Japan prefers Shiver due to her [design, and potentially character] being based off of Japanese culture. There are more Japanese players in Splatoon 3, more than any other country (probably because of Nintendo being Japanese and all.) So the votes were going to be a little bit biased.
Even though the question was "Who would be the best leader?" Majority of players would choose because of the idol.
Shiver fans said that she would be the best leader because "she leads the anarchy splatcast!!"
Frye fans said that "she acts like a leader in Alterna!!"
And honestly, i don't even know why some people picked Big Man. in all seriousness, admit it, we didn't pick because of leadership qualities, but because of who was our favourite. Japanese players have a preference over Shiver, while the West had a preference for Frye, especially because they want her to win. (And I think Brazil likes Big Man, probably for similar reasons as Shiver, but replace "Japanese" with Brazillian instead.)

Im honestly not mad that shiver won tbh i had fun and got to Frye ruler +8. but one thing im tired of is global splatfests. For those that never got to play the previous games, there were different splatfests in different regions, meaning that europe had its own splatfest and only played with other europians, same with Japan and NA. but now, all splatfests are global so everyone who owns the game’s vote/win counts.
This is problematic because Japan (which literally has the 75% of the playerbase) can sway the results of a splatfest. We saw this with the chocolate splatfest, when white chocolate was extremely unpopular in the west, but the most popular in Japan. We just saw this again with Shiver winning. It just feels like whatever team you join, you just have to pray that Japan like it too because that will be the winning team. I have nothing against them obviously, but i am pissed off because i wanna play splatfests in MY region. I think this is one of the main reasons why splatfests just arent fun in this game like they used to be. I havent won a splatfest since spicy vs sweet vs sour, and tbh i dont care. I play to have fun, but im not even really getting that atm.

look i know its just a game and all but its getting really annoying to participate in these events knowing that japan has majority in results. its not really fair to have all players play together for a splatfest around these idols when one of them is the same culture as more than half the playerbase. of course, there is exceptions and outliers, but the bias is obvious. if you really want to win, you just pick shiver now and call it a day. as a team frye player, i would have even been happy with big man winning. but its not only players, its the fault of the devs, too. something really needs to change, and i think not having region lock was a mistake. if region lock was back, at least there could be a glimmer of hope for other teams to win other than shiver. but at this point im not even mad im just disappointed lol thats just my thoughts though still had a blast playing
