Marshal Dan Mitchell contends with unruly cattlemen and a group of determined homesteaders intending to settle on government land bordering the town.
“Abilene Town” - 1946
Randolph Scott, Edgar Buchanan, Lloyd Bridges, Rhonda Fleming, and Ann Dvorak sings, dances, and kicks a lot.
My favorite actor Randolph Scott ❤❤
This is a really good movie, Ann Dvorak could sing her rear off, and she was uniquely beautiful too.
A Word on Westerns shows he ENTIRE film, from opening to end. 👋👍👍🤠
So much better in black & white😊
Great movie ❤
THANKS for showing. Great RANDOLPH pic
Good cowboy movies
I agree, very hood movie. Randolph Scott was as good of an actor as John Wayne. Never can go wrong watching his movies. I love the old black a n d white movies if tha t Era.

Good movie. Thanks for the upload ❤❤❤
" Abelene town " (1946)
Any film with Randolph Scott is a winner in my book. A bit too much time with saloon dancing IMO, but good picture quality. The "Sheriff" in this movie was a wimp. The "Marshall" is the one who bought peace to the town. The movie description is incorrect, but no biggie. Lloyd Bridges as a young man and beautiful blonde and brunette have the hots for Randolph, but he chose the wrong one in my opinion. Good entertainment though. Thank you.
Good movie
thank you. enjoyed the movie.
These problems were caused by the Homestead Act of 1862.
It would be an interesting and worthwhile project for students to study the economic and social implications of this conflict in hindsight.
Surely it would have been more profitable for everyone concerned to arrive at a peaceful resolution than to fight over the territory.
Even then development was a problem.
Why always the Start is CUT.
A line of wagons rolls past while a 1950's radiogram plays the old hymn did the film makers really expect audiences to believe it was the occupants of the wagons that were singing, had they never heard of the science of sound?
It was filmed in 1946.
Get your Facts straight!

but you see, they get paid by advertisers for every click on their site! that's why they don't show the title of movies any more-- so you have to click to discover that you've already seen it! GGGRRRHHHH!!! i think it's called GREED....

Scott was a great actor over his long career but he was actually a much better investor and he died worth 80 million. He invested his Hollywood paychecks in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania oil leases!
True fact. A few smart ones did that over the years. They knew to see into the future. He had a long and happy retirement.
He was well educated, came from a family that was wealthy and well connected. He had a solid character and practiced Higher Minded aka Mature Minded Thought, and he worked all the time.
I've a great deal of respect for him and those whom share that sort of character.
I hope he had some fun, really enjoyed his friends, family, and life. He was a true Star.

@macbeavers6938 . In it's time the saloon and dancing was a hot item! Men back then weren't use to seeing the mostly naked females like e are today. It was a thrill for a lot of them! A young Lloyd Bridges, a younger Paul Brinegar, "Wishbone", from 'Raw Hide' and a younger Edgar Buchanan, 'Uncle Joe Carlson' from 'Petticoat Junction', who stared or co-stared in many movies including westerns.
