Thank you for this video series: not only explaining the rules, but the explanations in the "Why it's a gem" part really gives you a good view of what the game can be and what different scenarios can occur and what type of players mostly will like the game. I already discovered some awesome board games I like because of your videos! "Gheos" and "The Downfall of Pomeii" (for example) are definitely gems! I'm also looking forward to trying out other games you mentioned. Cheers!
I love your channel but want to say that I find the background music distracting. In some of your videos it‘s louder and makes it harder to listen and here it’s so quiet that it’s like some undefinable background noise. In both cases it‘s slightly disturbing. That being said, keep up the great work! I like your style and many of the games that you‘re presenting. 👍
Thanks for the constructive feedback! It's a challenge to find the right balance, and I think I usually find it. (I have to listen to it myself when I edit!) But in particular, I had a problem with this video in finding that balance; the track has a lot of change-ups and have separate parts that are quiet and loud. I won't use this track again.
It’s not much like Carcassonne, aside from the tile-laying mechanic. The gameplay involves overlaying/replacing tiles to split or join continents, collisions between tribes, and balancing investments in tribes. Much more brain-burny. I like it a lot, though I haven’t played it often.

Your Dutch is on point Darryl!
Oh, great, I was worrying!
Flinke Pinke meets Vinci meets Carcassonne meets Acquire :)

Background ‘music’ is driving me to distraction. Gave up on what otherwise seemed a good game review.
Yup, I got complaints about this particular tune. I haven't used it since.
@@BoardGemswhat song is it? I love it.
The link is in the description!
Looks like a Carcassonne knock off to me 🧐

It wouldn't surprise me if the look attracted Carcassonne fans, who were then turned off by its high level of confrontation compared to that game.
Sorry it was my poor attempt at being a smart ass. Doesn’t look bad. Not too crazy about the triangle tiles
