Perfect city car for office goers. A good choice as a 2nd car too. Small dimensions, ample space for 4, adequate range for multiple office trips, great build quality, Low NVH and ridiculously low cost of running and maintenance. Icing on the cake is the perfect pricing, at 9L this seems far better value to money proportion when compared to a petrol hatchback. This will be a smash hit in the urban and suburban areas. The only downside is range as it cannot be used for outstation trips.
The range is the main issue in almost all EVs. Also replacement cost of the battery is too high as of now. These two reasons most of the people are not buying EVs.
@@Anic21212 battery is warranted for 8yrs or 160k kms whichever comes first. And i think that's pretty good. Most people change their car in 8 yrs. And even after replacing batteries the overall cost will still be less than owning a petrol car.
This car makes perfect sense for people doing regular office runs in city given that EVs provide long range during traffic situations. Definitely not for people doing highway runs.
Very valid points, hope Tata QA is watching this. Gagan, please post some shots of the dash before the drive was started and after the drive completed, and we can do the math on mileage🙂
Boot space has been gone down only by 2 liters. Earlier it was 242 liters, now its 240. Boot floor height is almost similar too. Don't neat peak something from every corners. Nice coverage in details department though👍
Whoever can put a 16A plug near parking and wants to drive mostly within the city (and occasional highway drives on NHs) should definitely buy this car
24:00 this problem with hill hold is a life threatening problem, just imagine, what will happen if a two wheeler is standing just behind you, and your car does this.
I didn't understand why people's r saying it's city car? I have travelled 700km to 900km( long drive). And it's hassle free. Just plan ur tour and charging points properly,,, that's it. It's gud for long or short rides.. No issue wd me. ☺
What a decent review, have watched others review but this one gives detail info about the product and the persistent issues with the Tata vehicles .. Hats off to you Gagan...
While shifting Neutral mode to Drive mode one needs to press the brake pedal very hard is not an issue... any kid on paseenger seat can easily shift it whithout driver's notice (while driver talking on phone or other passengers in the car)... and car may start moving... and that is dangerous... it requires to press the pedal quite harder while shifting the mode...
24:40 Man, this is the most valid point he's making. Whoever buying this car or any Nexon must be aware that it's not fully automated feature. I love my Nexon but same time I regret that I got tricked my Tata's marketing strategy 😌😅 'Hill hold assist', 'assend & descend ' assist whatever it is , it's not fully automated as advertised. When I'm on ghat road with 3 passengers, I almost shit my pants 😌 worried about others safety. Car won't be hold sticking to its ground instead there'll be heavy back rolling. Please keep this in mind. It needs experience to drive in conditions like these.
For 5KWh extra capacity, you have predicted an additional 30km, then how have you got 130-150 for 19kwh? It would easily give 180-200 km for the long range.
@@Auchitya01 a very small calculation helps in knowing the range of almost all evs except tesla and BYD, car size ranging from 3.7 meter to 4.3 will give an average of 6.5 to 7 kms for every kwh. Cars around 4.5 meters will give around 5-5.5 kms per kwh, and cars around 5 meters will give around 4 kms per kwh. Sedans and hatch will fetch tiny bit more range. Holds true for speed between 85-90 kmph on highway and in most city conditions
The biggest problem with EVs is not even the range. It's the lack of permanent parking spaces where we could charge our vehicles overnight. Before buying an ev it's almost mandatory to have your own permanent parking spot. Not an option in many cities where people park cars by the roadside.
Great work Gagan bhaiya.... Bass mujhe ye puchna tha ki jese ice engine me gadi ki battery kam honepe gadi on nahi hoti to ham dhakka marke usko on kar sakte hai... To is electric car me bhi wese hota hai kya kabhi... Just curious about it😜
I believe both Short and Long Range Tiago have the same motor, only thing is Short Range one may be locked at D-mode with no Sports mode available. Whereas the Long Range have Sports mode to get the remaining Torque from same motor. .
On hill ,change mode from D to Sport , this will give motor sufficient torque and you will not face this challenge. :) Came to know this from review of Ravi from DDS, Wish you could have also tested this.
It's not related to it's engine and power. It's because of the lag between the technology and car body weight. No matter what mode you use, you'll see back rolling.
Sensible review, though lengthy one but able to hold the attention. On a lighter note, why all youtubers want to make sit an small kid only at center of rear seat.
Good and detail review, got the issues with hill assist, shorter dead padel, mode change issue etc from this video. And also, this ev have some cost cutting with no motor shield or hood cover etc. Better they improve it, and provide aesthetic and good to have features in high end varient. In feature there is iTpms. Where the tire pressure is shown, in zconnect app only? Is the hill start assist improves in regen 3 level?
bhai ye break hatate hi back maarti hai ye hills par bahut hi khatarnaak hai ..kyuki kabhi kabhi khai ki side se turn karne par ye feature bahut hi khatarnaak sabit ho sakta hai
Will all variants support fast charging? I mean XT variant long range, in website from XZ+ variant only they are providing 7.2 fast charger and upper variants too. Will XT LR will support 7.2 fast charger and if it supports will tata provide 7.2 fast charger with extra money?

Tata does cost cutting in small and plastic parts. I've observed so much difference between Nexon low model and high end model which I own. Me and my cousin compared our cars parts and interior, from wipers to levers they do some cost cutting on quality for lower end parts. I can say there may be difference between Nexon Ev and Tiago Ev parts.
Hill hold/assistance, you need to apply same philosophy as for petrol/diesel version of using HAND BRAKES....there seems no issue for hill startups on upside slopes .... ultimately these are vehicles and IA driven technology seems not so near that we think and it excels....
