    Californian here, person of color. Voting Republican (but in New York now). But trust me when I say, demographics will not matter soon. Minorities are sick of the democrat identity politics, we need jobs, lower taxes, AND HOUSES FFS!

      I like to stress on that when we speak about California minority specifically. We tend to forget Asians. In the Bay Area for example, the 2nd biggest race is Asians not Latinos anymore. Asians are the worst affected by Affirmative Actions, and Asian hate crimes is going through the roof lately thanks to California lenient laws, many of these criminals who violently attacks Asians and loot their stores many went unpunished. Asians believe in strict laws and meritocracy. It has been their culture for thousands of years. If Republicans are smart, they should go all out trying to win Asian votes and California could turn red. Im sure a lot of Whites in California is already thinking twice to vote for democrats come the next election. If White + Asian vote for Republicans. Its game over.

    We’re on our way to turning California red, we flipped two seats in Orange County and it trended republican when most states didn’t in 2020. The recall was a setback though.

    • @cocopebbles7713
      @cocopebbles7713 2 года назад

      Well not sure what happened in the "recall", since Pelosi & Newsom are related. But, Orange County is such a small county, if Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, & Imperial will pick up their act & go red, it would definitely be more hopeful then, dont you think? Also, Tim Draper's Cal 3, seperating California into 3 states, wasnt a bad idea.

      @@cocopebbles7713 Orange County is huge in population, in 2022, I hope we take back all the seats including Katie Porter’s and defend against Harley Rouda.

      @@cocopebbles7713 Its not impossible. California has a huge Latino & Asian populations. Both are culturally speaking conservative. Latinos are very religious and they dont believe in abortions. Asians believe in meritocracy and strict laws, and they are the most affected by high crimes in California & Affirmative Actions. I always wondered why politicians never pats attention to Asians in California. California has a huge Asian population. If Republicans in California are smart. They should target this 2 groups.

    I think California can turn purple, I definitely think California could become a battle ground state again, solely because democrats have ruled the state government for many years.. They have been doing a very poor job at keeping our cost of living affordable, our communities clean and safe.. A lot of people are leaving, including democrats (which is unfortunate because of the other affordable decent states to live in).. That will bring competition to the dems here..

      I can see Texas turning blue, with a lot of democrat Californians moving there, which also happened to Arizona.

    • @savagebuck

      @D G
      It is because MOST of Californian tax dollars ARE GOING OUT to those Midwest Republican states, which to be honest would barely make it without blue states' taxes.

    I’m a Democrat, born and raised in northern CA, but I remember my parents voting for Schwarzenegger for governor despite being very progressive minded.
    This state is extremely complex and can easily host non-democratic politicians, but the current GOP establishment is pretty strongly disliked by moderates in CA so any Republican candidate would need to be able to break from DC talking points and ideologies. E.g. look to the republican governors of Maryland or Massachusetts as a solid game plan for a republican statewide CA candidate.
    CA Democratic Party is hardly a beloved institution in the state, but is able to hold onto power by simply not being classic hardline social conservatives.
    CA has shifted even more into the Dem. camp simply as a reaction to the GOP national stance, it is hardly a positive reaction to Democratic leadership.
    Just a suggestion to my more conservative friends when looking at CA.
