Love this hand. I had a very similar runout with an opponent about a week ago, he also led out out for just under pot, I had A-high flush draw. Like you, I thought about his missed straight draws/smaller flush draws, but then...... folded. And he showed me the smaller flush draw.
I was thinking, "imagine if he had like 5c2c, that would be horrific" but I thought some type of combo draw was way more likely - 5c4c, or 9c8c were clear contenders. Or maybe a backdoor flush draw with hearts and a front door straight draw.
This hand is a great lesson - when villain starts off with his x-raise there are tons of value hands and bluff hands he can represent. However as the board runs out there are fewer and fewer value hands. Your hand is on the cusp of what you can call - even Queen high is at risk of occasionally losing to bluffs containing Kc though that would be rare because villain has to worry about hero having Ac when he x-raises the flop.
when he pulled back his bet on the turn, I guess 32 type hand, mostly because it empowers overpairs to continue when board matches second pair. Villains check, raise was designed to win on the flop - any plans he had were squashed on the turn, and it was a desperation bet on the river Sometimes in your assessment, I do not hear you talking about what the villain might do with certain hands and that is understandable because you are defending versus range likely hands at each progression Would you do the same thing J4 😂 always interesting and entertaining Bart, Thank you so much for everything you do for the community.
My best hero call was calling 500 on the river with king high. Had a flush draw, and the other huge stack at the table and I had been battling all night. Flop was J-10-9, and the way he played it, I just went, he’s got a queen 100%, he’s bluff raising with the open ender and I locked my read in. His Open ender missed and my K8 flush draw and other open ender missed. He fired 500 into 900, I snap called and said show me the queen (praying he didn’t river the 3 at the end) and he flips over Q4 and the table just looks like 😮 Wouldn’t normally advise anything like this, but that guy took everyone else’s money and then I took all of his
nice call. glad you made it so we got the reveal. just shows to go with the read no matter what the pressure is. bluffs made much more sense than value.
More easy to say than to do. Gg I would like to know if being up on the session made easier for you to make that call, and also do you remember at the time if you did that call bc you thought deeply about it, or bc you were in the zone ?
***Warning*** Please do not apply this kind of thinking in your local 1-2. Actually, you shouldnt be applying any kind of thinking at these levels. Actually, youre just better becoming a professional Pai Gow player.
If positions were reversed, a lot of things would change… such as limp call, you raising from blinds, the turn would play exceptionally differently… like that would mean you bet and got raised and he checked back the turn
I have to admit, I am not good enough at poker to make this call. This brings up a memory of J4, 😂... at least you didn't get accused of cheating. Of course this decision is based on actual logic. Big props to you Bart!
Bart what’s worse ? Losing a hand because your opponent was dealt runner runner to beat u out of a pot of $20k OR Knowing your dog suffered and was murdered by a crazy lady because of your ignorance? The pain is worse when u learned she was a degenerate gambler . Look how the devil/God/Brahma work karma in mysterious ways
Obviously you are joking but the Garrett J4 hand had a totally different dynamic. Board was TT9 5 A so there are a lot more bluffs that have J high beat
Love this hand.

He was gonna check raise you on the turn. Excellent reasoning here Bart.
I can tell how excited you were to say that he called you a fucking fish lol awesome hand
Bart accidentally dropping that schwag reference is the best thing I’ve heard in awhile
If we think we accidentally lose can we jam the river?! I mean that’s pretty wild to even think about doing but it seems viable.

Why would 52 be horrific?
Bart, what a CLEVER fish you are!
Great hand and a great vid! 👍👍👍
Dumb.
@@quiet_erp Don't worry - I'm sure you'll get smarter with age.

You animal, nice call
That 7 on the river was huge, lol

Great hand Bart, would you make the call if he went like 1.5-1.7x bet the pot at the river or if you had jack high?
My best hero call was calling 500 on the river with king high. Had a flush draw, and the other huge stack at the table and I had been battling all night. nice call , nice hand break down
Great content Bart! Sick call, it would have really cussed for him to have Ac2c…his bottom pair get counterfeit but his Ac plays…
Villain wouldn't bluff the river with ace high, lol
If you got checked raise on the turn would you have just ripped it in?
I can't believe he only had three two, I was fully expecting like Jack nine of clubs.
1:42 "Enter a piece of me"... probably not the phrasing you intended....
That is an epic hand, wow
I'm curious about your thoughts if your preflop raise accomplished what you expected.
QT suited plays really well against limpers 4-handed in position, so it's a value raise preflop.
If villain does have Kxcc he could have the best hand...doesn't that have showdown value? Would he bet that big with that hand?
nice call. glad you made it so we got the reveal. just shows to go with the read no matter what the pressure is. bluffs made much more sense than value.
Bart you made a read it’s ok🤣 some times you just have to put the chips in
Scooping a $10k pot with Q high? Slow clap...
Was this HCL or Stones. Christ Bart, I need to be 8 cocktails in when I play
Stones?? Lol… they been gone for like 5 years
Why do you feel the need to bring Christ into this???
@skelthouser2730 Coz normally when you call with Q high you get nailed to the cross.
More easy to say than to do. Gg
I would like to know if being up on the session made easier for you to make that call, and also do you remember at the time if you did that call bc you thought deeply about it, or bc you were in the zone ?
Very interesting hand!
It's a $3k hero call

@David-rq1xj Uncapped is a bit different
Hate the flop sizing, otherwise fun hand
Feel like 89h could make this play.
That's how it's done !
Do you think if you bet the turn he would have checked raised you again?
😂 nice trolling.......knew a bunch of comments would call into the nuts
This is fancy play syndrome to the hilt. Any A might bluff here pockets 88s or 99s. The idea that Ax of clubs MUST ALWAYS raise preflop LOL. No.
If he bet small on the river would you of folded??
If positions were reversed, a lot of things would change… such as limp call, you raising from blinds, the turn would play exceptionally differently… like that would mean you bet and got raised and he checked back the turn
Wait, it's pronounced Seye-ah? I thought it was See-ah.
I check raise on the flop with a 6 or 7 all day
ur a fish, u have neither equity or nut advantage
Then almost bet then switch your mind and check turn?
@@nolimitpoker I played 11 years of theatre. So yes.
Nice call Bart.. But I have to say its a gutsy call given the fact like you said .. Your Still losing to some of his bluffs....
"Schwag"
No seeds, no stems, no sticks…schwag😆
Pair of deuces doesn’t win the hand???
Q7766 > 77663
Three pair for the win!
No
Why couldnt villian have A x clubs?
Because thats a raise preflop.
@charlesmurray3255
Fair enough. I prob think like a fish.
Didn't think that was a no brainer raise.
@@Fred-rg5vwThey were playing 4 handed.
You could certainly limp 8-9 handed, but 4 handed it should be a raise a most of the time.

Fair enough. I'm learning as I go.
Good channel for that..keeps it reasonably simple and not too much advertising to endure
Thanks for the video, always enjoy. Your title is a little misleading though since your call FOR a $10k pot, but it was not a $10k call.
I have to admit, I am not good enough at poker to make this call.

not the same in the slightest.

Never said it was. Just reminded me of it.
ur a fish, how does this remind u of J4@@NefariousMinds
Yes I am a fish, so what. It reminds me of it because he called down without an actual hand.

You won with horrible play.. Not something to be proud of
If garrett was the villain, he might accuse bart of cheating. Calling off with queen high.
Original 😂 if Bart was a day one noobie so would I
Why?
Obviously you are joking but the Garrett J4 hand had a totally different dynamic.
Board was TT9 5 A so there are a lot more bluffs that have J high beat
Then demand his money back because Garrett isn’t allowed to lose.
It was on stream or after? If it was on stream what is there to argue about
