  • With around 125,000 units sold in 2023, the latest generation #ToyotaTundra has been a huge hit for #Toyota ever since this generation came out in 2022. The #TundraPlatinum trim is most of the luxury and technology that high-end truck buyers are looking for, without the excessive chrome that you might find on the 1794 or Capstone. This new #TundraHybrid is only one of the few choices out there if you want an electrified full-size truck with an appealing blend of technology, luxury, capability, and build quality.

    Happy Saturday everyone! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! The latest Tundra has been a huge hit for Toyota sales wise, and this is our first time reviewing the Platinum trim on the channel and it comfortably sits between the Limited and Capstone trim and its also at the same level as the 1794 trim, but without the extra chrome and brown interior. Which Tundra trim level do you find the most appealing for yourself? Let us know below!

    At 25,000 miles it is very reliable and gets around 20 mpg in town
    I paid a $ 2,000 premium over the $70,000 sticker due to availability. Some dealers were getting $6-8,000 over msrp

    For those that continue to complain, smaller displacement turbo charged engines are replacing larger naturally aspirated engines due solely to U.S. Government EPA regulations that now levy repeated hefty multimillion dollar fines against manufacturers for not meeting the new emissions standards.
    Yes, GM still offers 2 different v8s but they incorporate cylinder deactivation technology to meet the EPA regulations, but as these regulations continue to reduce the allowable emissions even these engines will inevitably be replaced with smaller turbo charged engines.
    You don’t have to like it, most don’t, but your chance to do something about it was at the ballot box and engaging your elected officials before these regulations rolled out.
    The manufacturers aren’t saints but they must deliver for their shareholders and continuing to pay fines to the government will eventually hurt the bottom line and they have calculated that these regulations are not going away nor will they be relaxed so these power plants are their solution to that problem.

    This truck looks better on these videos than it does in person particularly the interior the interior when you actually sit in it is cheaper looking and feeling than what you get here. It also looks like two different design teams worked on it and then never spoke to each other there’s no continuity and there’s too many different Surfaces and colors etc. with the hybrid max you lose storage under the seat in the rear which is something I always use in my current truck. Plus, the legroom is nowhere near the Ram.

    • @normanli7085
      @normanli7085 6 месяцев назад

      Legroom is only a few inches more than the Ram. The same goes for the headroom, though the tundra has the worst 2nd row headroom when it comes to implementing a panoramic sunroof. We never said this trim was affordable, we just said it provides the best blend of luxury and technology for the money in the Tundra trim hierarchy. And the price of a comparable truck from Ford, GM, or Ram is about $5-10k more expensive. Obviously, if you can forgo some of the luxury features in this trim, a Limited trim can be had for the mid-$50k range, which is honestly still very expensive but that's just how pricey this segment has become in the last few years.

Tailgate panel gaps is uneven. I found the slot by the drivers window controls they cut a thin felt material to lined the bottom but never bother to glue it down. The gear shift is not as smooth. Speaker cover is cheap plastic. This list is really long. My 2019 Ridgeline has better fit n finish and rides better for 1/2 the price. Got this truck for 66k out the door. I hope no one pays more than what I did. I will keep this truck because of the power it produces and it’s fun to drive. I'm sorry but I'm against this V6 Twin Turbo technology, especially if you'll be using the truck for towing a heavy trailer, as that would make the turbos run constantly which would put a lot of heat into the engine and shorten the life. The Ford Eco Boost V6 twin turbo is proof of this problem when towing with engine failures starting as soon as 50,000 miles.
    In addition to that these engines have 2 turbos, and turbos only last an average of 150,000 miles, so you will have 2 turbo failures that are not cheap to fix.
    I don't know if Toyota figured out a way around the low mileage high failure rate that the Ford is experiencing, but I wouldn't dare buy the Toyota till that engine has seen at least 5 years of use. Don't get me wrong, I love Toyota vehicles and own two of them including a Tundra with the 5.7 V8, but I won't be rushing out to get the twin-turbo V6 any time soon!
