- Find out how a popping cork does against a normal paddletail lure (Slam Shady 2.0) on a windy day.
We went head to head to see which setup caught the most (and biggest) speckled trout.
Tight lines and enjoy.

Line discussion: Not quite sibling rivalry but I love the authentic love between brothers. Don’t change a thing.
That keeper at the end was beautiful!
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. Real life fishing. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate all y'all do!
As always thanks very much for the experiments ! 🐟🐟
Glad you like them!
What would you think about using limp, low memory, small diameter copolymer line for leader.
What are those beautiful blue rods you were using? I love popping corks by the way.
They mentioned them in the video
Only you two hitting an iceberg could make this video better.
If you are fishing 4 to 5 ft water your leader should be 3 ft long. Also when I fish a cork I pop it 2 to 3 times and let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds. This works well for me in the big bend area.
On the slot machine make bait caster rod
Leader length should be adjusted depending on what depth the fish are at. 24" leader in 60" of water on a cold day may have the bait to high in the water column above the fish. Also, need a 4 horseman cork to up your strikes.
We'll be doing some tests of this cork vs the 4 horseman corks soon.
👍👍👍
Not a fan of popping corks. They work but don’t like how they cast. Don’t like the resistance the cork puts on the fish while fighting. Guess I’m a minimalist. Lure, leader line and me.
