Thanks for your review! I’m considering this for FPS! Liked the glossy UCDM for gaming and media use but the fringing bothered me when working/reading text on white background. UCDP I didn’t like the hazy/grainy effect text on white background, so cons to both 4k OLEDS - which do you prefer?
Personally, I prefer UCDP because of the matte. Yes you sacrifice clarity, but I don't have to worry about glare. It's really personally preference; but I think the matte on the UCDP and this AQDP isn't that aggressive
From what I read on Rtings (the monitor testers) the dude who replied to me said yes. Because it’s literally a brand new fast W-OLED panel. So if you have one already, a monitor that’s an IPS. By nature of the hardware. There will be less input lag. My monitor vs this one is like 7.6ms slower in input lag.
Hi, what are your thoughts on the 'scenery mode' in some games? It's a bit disappointing that many of these game visuals are unique, yet we can't fully replicate them in user mode
Its 10 b-bit, This reviewer doesnt know the specification of what he is reviewing so pay no attention. This monitor is not capable of displaying 12-bit(68.7 billion colors) compared to 10-bit (1 billion colors)
If you use HDMI 2.1 it allows you to output 12-bit colors on this monitor; BUT you’re right that it’s only a 10-bit monitor so selecting 12-bit is pointless. Keep in mind that this video is just a first impressions video showing what is possible on each input. I’ll keep that in mind in future videos and reviews so that users know that even if 12-bit is an option, you should go with 10-bit max.
Even though it’s an extra 60Hz, the response time of OLED is superior so it might be better for competitive gaming. I can’t say for sure though since I haven’t tested 540 TN and I’m also not gaming at those insane high FPS.
the GS is an older generation panel with worse subpixel layout. For gaming it's probably still great but text clarity suffers. This new 480hz panel (the asus and sony) are using LG's latest panel which is better on every metric and has better text clarity.
Compared to an IPS display what would you say brightness in SDR is like on this monitor I’m talking about 100% brightness to 100% that’s my main concern
