  • This is my first "How-to" video. I was having a hard time finding instructions on how to remove the front seats from my 'new' JK.
    I wanted to put new covers on the seats and make sure that everything was nice and tight. It just seemed easier to remove the seats to accomplish this.
    I'm pretty pleased with the results, all things considered.
    Hope this helps!

    Thank you. I had no idea the bolt covers slide away after you popped them up. I would have ripped those things out if I hadn't seen you. You are the man!!!

    Thanks for sharing this video. I have owned my 2012 JK for 12 years now and I had no idea you can shift the driver’s side seat up like that! I am a DIY kind of person so I make mods and work on my Jeep often. This will come in handy when I need to remove my driver’s side seat!

    This is perfect for what i want to do. The carpet is ripped and EVERYTHING goes under it and i hate having to try to get stuff from out of it. I lost my keys down there. so im going to create a barrier between the sides of the seat.

    Helpful vodeo. Did you disconnect battery before disconnecting the air bag socket?

    • @westsideken
      @westsideken  Год назад +1

      No, I did not because my Jeep does not have side airbags. The only plug underneath there was for the seat belt notifier.
      I should have mentioned that in the video.

      @westsideken  10 месяцев назад

      @@Lrmrz94 JKs do not have side curtain airbags. I'm not sure if the newer JL ones do or not.
      Edit... Apparently after September 1st 2017 all vehicles must have side curtain airbags now 🤷

    Thanx! I managed with the driver's seat. The passenger side seat lever seems to be stuck. Am i doing something wrong?

    • @westsideken
      @westsideken  9 месяцев назад +1

      You're probably going to have to use a bit of WD-40 or lubricant and a LOT of muscle.The passenger seat very rarely gets used so it is just stuck.
      That's what happened with mine, anyway.

    I'm jealous, my bolts were so tight! My little adjustor for moving seat forward and backwards broke and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it by taking seat out or how to get a new bracket. But how'd you remove seatbelt?? I'm stuck at such a stupid part, I don't recognize that kind of bit.

    any other tips of pushing the driver seat up the extra inches to access that rear bolt? My seat wont budge!

    • @westsideken
      @westsideken  9 месяцев назад

      It's kind of extreme, but put your jack underneath the lever in the back and crank it up very slowly. Make sure it is under the lift up lever and go very gently. If you start seeing the lift up lever start to bend, back off obviously. That would be my best advice. I'm just a backyard mechanic.
